Eight Types of Back Lesions:
1. Nao Fa (Brain Abscess) 2. Sai Yong (Cheek Abscess) 3. Shang Bei Fa (Upper Back Abscess, located below Tianzhu BL10) 4. Zhong Bei Fa (Middle Back Abscess, opposite the heart/chest)
5. Xia Bei Fa (Lower Back Abscess, opposite the umbilicus) 6. Yao Bei Fa (Lumbar-Back Abscess) 7. An Fa (Dark Abscess, i.e., Ma Qi Yong/Horse-Riding Carbuncle) 8. Chi Sai Yong (Red Cheek Abscess, i.e., Sai Yong)
Nao Fa occurs at the vertex of the head and arises from the Du Mai (Conception Vessel of the back) and Taiyang Bladder Meridian. It is caused by disharmony of Yin and Yang, with pathological heat rushing upward and accumulating without dispersing, thus forming this toxic lesion. If not treated promptly, it may lead to cracking of the skull and exhaustion of the marrow, becoming incurable. Initially use Ba Wei Bai Du Liu Qi Yin (Eight-Ingredient Decoction for Defeating Toxins and Regulating Qi), followed by Shi Wu Wei Nei Tuo Liu Qi Yin (Fifteen-Ingredient Internal Support Decoction for Regulating Qi), and finally Bai Zhi San (Angelica Dahurica Powder). Externally apply a poultice formula.

Sai Yong (Cheek Abscess) arises anterior and posterior to the roots of the teeth and the ear cavity, connecting to the Liver and Kidney meridians, and originates from the Shaoyang Gallbladder and Yangming Stomach meridians. It is also known as Chi Sai Yong (Red Cheek Abscess). It is caused by stagnation and obstruction of Qi and Blood in the cheeks. Treat initially with Qing Gan Liu Qi Yin (Clear Liver Regulate Qi Decoction) for one or two doses, followed by Tuo Li Yin (Support Interior Decoction), and externally apply Wan Ling Gao (Myriad Spirits Ointment). If itching is felt at the onset, moxibustion of six or seven cones is recommended, along with three cones each at Jiache ST6 and Jianjing GB21 acupoints. This is very effective.
