Chimian Ding (Red Face Carbuncle) arises on the human face, caused by accumulated heat in the Spleen Meridian flaring upward. Initially, it is as large as a millet seed and slightly itchy; do not scratch or break it under any circumstances, for doing so causes severe harm. At the beginning, use Tiegu San (Iron Fence Powder), followed by Zhuidu Yin (Poison-Chasing Decoction) and Bengdu Yin (Poison-Collapsing Decoction). If swelling occurs, administer internal medication only to allow the pus to mature and rupture spontaneously, then apply Shengji San (Flesh-Regenerating Powder) externally.
Twelve-Ingredient Zhuidu Yin (Poison-Chasing Decoction)
Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Xionghuang (Realgar), Ruxiang (Olibanum), Moyao (Myrrha), Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Jiegen (Puerariae Radix).

Take with ginger decoction.
If the disease progression is severe, add Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) and Chuanshanjia (Manis Squama), decoct into a paste, take six to seven times daily. The carbuncle will detach naturally, and the toxin will dissipate; this has great efficacy, do not underestimate this prescription.
Jianju (Shoulder Abscess) arises above both shoulders, caused by accumulated heat in the Lung and Spleen rushing upward to the Jianjing acupoint. At the onset, people often fail to recognize it; there is merely soreness and pain at the Jianjing point for six to seven days before the shape appears. If untreated, it may take six to seven months to heal, and may even lead to dry ulceration at the Jianjing point, becoming critical. When first felt, moxa fire should be applied. Internally, take Haima Bengdu Liqi Yin (Sea Horse Poison-Collapsing Qi-Flowing Decoction); externally, apply medicated plasters. Once the pus is exhausted, apply Shengji San (Flesh-Regenerating Powder).

Lougu Chuan (Mole Cricket Chain) gets its name from the abundance of insects. Its shape resembles a dragonfly, with a short head and long tail, capable of walking on water against the wind. Once afflicted, it does not cease until it breaks open. If it ulcerates but the pus and fluid are not cut off, it will penetrate and chain from the Jianjing point up to the elbow and arm. It penetrates, then chains, chaining three times. If it extends downward one or two cun, it is called Middle Chain; if it extends another one or two cun downward, it is called Lower Chain. This happens because the pus is not stopped, leading to penetration and chaining. The secret formula uses Duolan San (Rotting-Stopping Powder), treated with lamp-fire cauterization to sever it. Additionally, moxa is applied to the Jianjing acupoint, as well as the Zhoujian and Quchi acupoints, five to seven moxa cones each. Internally, take herbal decoctions; externally, apply medicated plasters and Shengji San (Flesh-Regenerating Powder). After more than a month of treatment, it heals. Otherwise, the patient may become disabled. This disease arises because damp-heat accumulates in the Zang-Fu organs, affecting the skin externally.
