凡阴症身静而重，语言无声，气少难以喘息，目睛不了了，口鼻冷气，水浆不入，大小便不禁，面上恶寒
有如刀刮，先用葱熨法，次服四逆汤。（方见中寒。）
痼冷者，寒之甚也。
加味理中汤
大附子（面包煨去皮壳） 人参（去芦） 白术（去芦） 干姜（炒） 肉桂 陈皮 茯苓（去皮。各等分）
甘草（炙，减半）
上锉一剂，生姜一片、枣二枚，水煎热服。
固阳汤 治阳症归阴，阴囊缩入，手足厥冷，腹痛胀，汗冷出，脉或反洪弦。
黄 人参（各二钱） 白术（去芦） 茯苓（各四钱） 干姜（八钱） 良姜（三钱，腹痛倍用） 白姜
（八钱） 浓朴（三钱，姜汁炒） 大附子（炮，四钱）
上锉一剂，水煎热服。
治阴症方
胡椒（三十粒） 黄丹（一两） 干姜（一块）
上三味为末，用醋调涂放男左女右手心内，合在小便上一时，盖被出汗即已。
治阴症腹痛 灸小指外侧上纹尖，艾炷如小豆大，灸三壮，男灸左，女灸右。
治阴症冷极，热药救不回者，手足冰冷、肾囊缩入、牙关紧急，死在须臾。用大艾炷灸脐中，预将蒜捣汁
擦脐上，后放艾多灸之。其脐上下左右各开八分、四分，用小艾炷灸至五壮为度。如玉茎缩入于内，速令人捉
定，急将蕲艾丸如绿豆大，在龟头马口灸二壮，其茎即出，仍服附子理中汤即效。
治阴症方
老桑树皮（烧存性） 牡蛎（火 ） 干姜 胡椒（各二钱） 胆矾（一钱） 麝香（少许）
上为细末，用阴阳唾调涂于两手心内夹腿腋，不时遍身汗出即瘥。
治冷阴方
枯白矾 百草霜（各一钱），共为细末，炼蜜为丸。每服一丸，黄酒送下。
治阴症腹痛面青甚者∶鸽子粪一大抄，研末，极热酒一盏冲入，搅匀少澄饮之，去渣，顿愈。
三仙散∶治阴症。干姜 大附子（炮去皮脐） 官桂
上共为细末，每服三钱，滚酒调服，神效。
凡是阴证患者，身体安静且沉重，说话声音低微或无声，气息微弱难以喘息，眼睛视物模糊不清，口鼻呼出冷气，无法进食进水，大小便失禁，面部感觉寒冷如同刀刮一般。治疗时，先用葱熨法（用葱白炒热外敷），随后服用四逆汤。（方剂见“中寒”章节。）
加味理中汤
大附子（用面包包裹煨熟，去皮和壳） 人参（去除芦头） 白术（去除芦头） 干姜（炒制） 肉桂 陈皮 茯苓（去皮，以上各等分）
甘草（炙烤，用量减半）
以上药材锉碎为一剂的量，加入生姜一片、大枣二枚，加水煎煮后热服。
固阳汤：治疗阳证转化为阴证，出现阴囊收缩入腹，手足厥冷，腹部疼痛胀满，冷汗淋漓，脉象反而呈现洪大或弦象。
黄芪 人参（各二钱） 白术（去芦头） 茯苓（各四钱） 干姜（八钱） 良姜（三钱，若腹痛则加倍使用） 白姜（八钱） 浓朴（三钱，用姜汁炒制） 大附子（炮制，四钱）
以上药材锉碎为一剂的量，加水煎煮后热服。
治疗阴证的方剂
胡椒（三十粒） 黄丹（一两） 干姜（一块）
以上三味药研为细末，用醋调匀涂抹在男性左手心或女性右手心内，将手合拢置于小便上方约一顿饭的时间，盖上被子出汗后即可痊愈。
治疗阴证引起的腹痛
灸小指外侧上端纹理尖端处，艾炷大小如小豆，每侧灸三壮，男性灸左侧，女性灸右侧。
治疗阴证寒气极重，服用热性药物无法挽回者，症状表现为手足冰冷、肾囊收缩入腹、牙关紧闭紧急，随时可能死亡。此时应用大艾炷灸脐中穴，预先将大蒜捣烂取汁擦拭脐部，然后放置艾绒多灸之。在脐部的上下左右各距离八分和四分的位置，用小艾炷灸至五壮为止。如果阴茎缩入体内，迅速让人按住固定，急忙将蕲艾制成的丸药如绿豆大小，在龟头马口穴处灸两壮，阴茎即可复出，同时服用附子理中汤即见效。
治疗阴证的方剂
老桑树皮（烧至存性，即保留部分炭化性质） 牡蛎（火煅） 干姜 胡椒（各二钱） 胆矾（一钱） 麝香（少许）
以上药材研为细末，用唾液（阴阳唾，即男女唾液混合或泛指津液）调匀涂抹于两手心内侧及大腿腋下，不时全身出汗即可痊愈。
治疗冷阴证的方剂
枯白矾 百草霜（各一钱），共同研为细末，用炼蜜制成丸药。每次服用一丸，用黄酒送服。
治疗阴证腹痛且面色青紫严重者：取鸽子粪一大勺，研成细末，用极热的酒一盏冲入，搅拌均匀稍作沉淀后饮用，去掉药渣，顿服即愈。
In cases of Yin syndrome, the patient remains quiet and feels heavy; speech is silent or inaudible; breath is scanty and difficult to gasp; vision is blurred; cold air emanates from the mouth and nose; intake of fluids and food is impossible; urination and defecation are incontinent; and the face feels as if scraped by a knife. Initially apply the Scallion Moxibustion method (applying hot minced scallions externally), followed by administering Sini Tang (Four Reversal Decoction). (For the formula, see the section on Cold Invasion.)
"Stubborn Cold" refers to an extreme severity of cold pathogen.
Jiawei Lizhong Tang (Modified Center-Regulating Decoction)
Fuzi (Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata): One large piece, wrapped in bread, baked until cooked, skin and lateral roots removed.
Renshen (Radix Ginseng): Remove the rhizome (Lu).
Baizhu (Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae): Remove the rhizome (Lu).
Ganjiang (Rhizoma Zingiberis Officinalis Preparatum): Stir-fried.
Rougui (Cortex Cinnamomi).
Chenpi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae).
Fuling (Sclerotium Poriae Cocos): Skin removed. (All above ingredients in equal parts).
Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata): Honey-fried, dosage halved.
Crush these ingredients for one dose. Add one slice of fresh ginger and two jujubes. Decoct with water and take warm.
Guyang Tang (Solidify Yang Decoction): Treats Yang syndrome transforming into Yin syndrome, characterized by retraction of the scrotum, coldness of the hands and feet, abdominal pain and distension, cold sweating, and a pulse that may paradoxically appear surging or wiry.
Huangqi (Radix Astragali Membranacei) and Renshen (Radix Ginseng): Each 2 qian.
Baizhu (Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae): Remove the rhizome (Lu).
Fuling (Sclerotium Poriae Cocos): Each 4 qian.
Ganjiang (Rhizoma Zingiberis Officinalis Preparatum): 8 qian.
Liangjiang (Rhizoma Alpiniae Officinarum): 3 qian (double the dose if abdominal pain is present).
Baijiang (Rhizoma Zingiberis Officinalis Preparatum - specific preparation): 8 qian.
Houpo (Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis): 3 qian, stir-fried with ginger juice.
Fuzi (Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata): Prepared, 4 qian.
Crush these ingredients for one dose. Decoct with water and take warm.
Formula for Treating Yin Syndrome
Hujiao (Fructus Piperis Nigris): 30 grains.
Huandan (Minii Oxidum): 1 liang.
Ganjiang (Rhizoma Zingiberis Officinalis Preparatum): One piece.
Grind the above three ingredients into fine powder. Mix with vinegar to form a paste. Apply to the palm of the left hand in males or the right hand in females. Hold the hand over urine for approximately one meal's time. Cover with a blanket to induce sweating; recovery will follow.
Treatment for Abdominal Pain Caused by Yin Syndrome
Moxibustion at the tip of the outer side of the little finger, near the proximal crease. Use moxa cones the size of a small bean. Moxa three zhuu sessions per side. Males: left side. Females: right side.
Treatment for Extreme Cold in Yin Syndrome where Hot Herbs Fail to Restore Vitality: Symptoms include cold hands and feet, retraction of the scrotum, lockjaw, and imminent death. Use large moxa cones to moxa the Zhongwan (CV12) area (navel). First, crush garlic and apply the juice to the navel. Then apply abundant moxa. Additionally, using small moxa cones, moxa points located 8 fen and 4 fen away from the navel in all four directions (up, down, left, right) for five zhuu sessions each. If the penis retracts internally, hold it firmly. Immediately place a moxa pill made from Qiai (Artemisia argyi) the size of a mung bean on the glans penis (Makou point) and moxa two zhuu sessions. The penis will emerge. Simultaneously administer Fuzi Lizhong Tang (Aconite Decoction to Regulate the Middle) for efficacy.
Formula for Treating Yin Syndrome
Laosangpishu (Cortex Morus Albae Radicis - old mulberry bark): Burned to retain its nature (charred but not fully ash).
Muli (Concha Ostreae): Calcined by fire.
Ganjiang (Rhizoma Zingiberis Officinalis Preparatum).
Hujiao (Fructus Piperis Nigris): Each 2 qian.
Danfan (Alumen): 1 qian.
Shexiang (Moschus): A small amount.
Grind all ingredients into a fine powder. Mix with saliva (yin-yang saliva, referring to human saliva) to form a paste. Apply to the inner palms and the axillary region of the thighs. Sweating throughout the body at intervals indicates recovery.
Formula for Treating Cold Yin Syndrome
Kubaifan (Alumen Exsiccatum): 1 qian.
Baicaoshuang (Carbonis Herbae): 1 qian.
Grind together into a fine powder. Form pills using refined honey. Take one pill per dose, washed down with yellow wine.
Treatment for Severe Abdominal Pain in Yin Syndrome with Cyanotic Face: Take a large scoop of pigeon droppings, grind into powder. Pour one cup of extremely hot wine over it, stir well, allow to settle slightly, then drink. Discard the dregs. Recovery will be immediate upon single administration.
Sanxian San (Three Immortals Powder): Treats Yin Syndrome.
Ganjiang (Rhizoma Zingiberis Officinalis Preparatum).
Fuzi (Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata): Prepared, skin and umbilicus removed.
Guangui (Cortex Cinnamomi Cassiae).
Grind all together into fine powder. Take 3 qian per dose, mixed with boiling wine. Effect is miraculous.
