Treats the five types of hemorrhoids (hemorrhoids), regardless of whether they are internal or external, *mu* hemorrhoids (protruding like a mushroom) or *pin* hemorrhoids (hanging down like a teat), cold or heat patterns, labor injury or dampness pathogenesis; it governs all of them.
*Biejia* (Turtle Shell, *Chiniplax pelvis*) (treats *mu* hemorrhoids) [Pi] (treats *pin* hemorrhoids, text implies a bark or specific material missing here, translated literally as "Bark") *Zhuzuoju Xuantijia* (Suspension hoof nail from the left front foot of a pig, *Sus scrofa domesticus* claw nail) (treats *chang* hemorrhoids) *Fengfang* (Honeycomb, *Vespa orientalis* nest) (treats *mai* hemorrhoids) *Shetui* (Snake Slough, *Ophichthus midas* skin) (treats *qi* hemorrhoids). All in equal parts.
Calcine these ingredients until the original properties are preserved (*cunxing*), then increase one part according to the syndrome, and grind into powder. Mix with well-water (*jinghua shui*) and take two qian orally, once on an empty stomach and once before bed.
[Second Formula]
[Pi] (Three fingers square in size, sliced) *Xunhuang* (Sublimed Arsenic Sulfide, *Realgar* processed) (Size of a jujube, ground fine) *Shuai* (Prepared Mugwort Leaf, *Artemisia argyi* leaf) (Size of a chicken egg).
Grind the above into powder. Fill a bottle vessel halfway with ash. Place a long bamboo tube over the ash, similar to the method of burning incense. Sit on the tube to fumigate the area; it is best if the smoke exits through the mouth. Fumigate three times for permanent cure. Avoid wind and cold. Contraindicated: chicken meat and toxic foods.
[Third Formula]
*Haitongpi* (Sea Privet Bark, *Sarcandra glabra* stem bark) (chopped) *Shechuangzi* (Cnidium Fruit, *Cnidium monnieri* fruit) (each 1 liang) *Xiangnanteng* (Aromatic South Vine, likely *Stephania cepharantha* or similar) (chopped) *Congbai* (Scallion White, *Allium fistulosum* bulb base) (cut, each 3 liang).
Add the five taels of herbs to one dou of water. Decoct until the volume is reduced by half. Strain the dregs. When warm, gently wash the affected area with hands, then dry with silk cloth. Another method: simply decoct *Huai baipi* (White bark of Huai tree, *Sophora japonica* root bark) in water and pour/wash over the area; this is optimal.
[Fourth Formula]
*Shuikuizi* (Hollyhock Seed, *Althaea rosea* seed) (half liang) *Chantui* (Cicada Slough, *Cryptotympana pustulata* exuviae) (five pieces) *Binglang* (Areca Nut, *Areca catechu* seed) (one piece). Grind all together into powder.
Take the flesh of three jujubes, grind finely, and mix with the herbal powder to form a paste. If too hard, add a little honey. Apply the paste to the lesion according to its size.
Patients suffering from the five types of hemorrhoids experience bleeding during defecation. The blood may drip drop by drop or shoot out like an arrow; the blood may be clear or turbid. They present with sallow complexion, pale lips, palpitations (*xin song*), weak legs, and dizziness/vertigo. This is caused by prolonged sitting after full meals, leading to *changpi* (intestinal dysentery/stasis). It can also result from excessive alcohol consumption and sexual indiscretion. Physicians of the world often diagnose this as *changfeng* (Intestinal Wind) or *zangdu* (Visceral Toxin). However, *changfeng* and *zangdu* belong to the category of *zhixia* (dysentery-like disorders). *Zangdu* refers to accumulated toxins within the viscera; *changfeng* refers to pathogens entering the viscera, resulting in pure clear blood discharge, termed *fengli*. The current bleeding from the five hemorrhoids is specifically *jiuzhi* (Wine Hemorrhoid) or *maizhi* (Vein Hemorrhoid). The blood flows from a separate orifice beside the anus, about the size of a needle hole, dripping continuously, distinct from the passage of feces. This distinction must not be overlooked.
