Tang (6 years old): Diarrhea accompanied by abdominal pain. Vomiting, nausea, and sweating on the head. In childhood, this generally belongs to deficiency of Spleen and Stomach Qi. Following the classic text's example of "post-diarrhea abdominal pain," it is proposed to construct a formula that strengthens the middle and leaches out dampness.

Re-examination: Diarrhea with abdominal pain, vomiting, nausea, and head sweating. This is entirely a disease of the Spleen and Stomach. The previously administered formula for strengthening the middle and leaching dampness has significantly reduced the diarrhea and pain. However, nausea and head sweating persist. The Classics state: "All vomiting and regurgitation belong to Fire." There is fear that the Spleen disease will transmit to the Kidney, changing into the affliction of dysentery (Zhi Xia). Imitating the intent of Zhang Zhongjing's Xi Xin Tang (Heart-draining Decoction).

Wang (38 years old): Previously discussed using a formula to support the Stomach and disperse blood stasis. The diarrhea caused by mass accumulation (Jia Xie) has greatly decreased. Mild pain in the lower abdomen, mild soreness in the waist. Sleep is scanty at night. Lochia has cleared. Du Mai (Governor Vessel) deficiency causes back cold. Overall, this belongs to fluid damage after childbirth, with empty collateral vessels. Administering warming herbs requires caution against dryness; excessive moistening may hinder clearing. Neither is the most appropriate method postpartum. However, since the mass-related diarrhea has decreased, it seems that warming purgatives cannot enter the realm of extreme Yin. Selecting those that are warming but not drying, and moistening but not cloying, will achieve the wonder of parallel non-conflict.
