Women presenting with coldness in the lower body, which cannot be warmed without fire. During sexual intercourse, there is absolutely no warm qi within the yin (vagina). People assume this is due to thin innate endowment (congenital weakness), but who would know that it is actually extreme coldness of the Bao Tiao (uterus)! In lands of ice and snow, grass and trees do not grow; in abysses of heavy yin, fish and dragons do not thrive. Now that the Bao Tiao is cold, how can conception occur? Even if a man gathers courage and fights vigorously, his semen being very hot, shooting directly into the interior of the Zi Gong (uterus), when meeting the icy-cold qi, it can only be retained temporarily, but inevitably expelled over time, just like a person. How did this woman's Bao Tiao become so cold? Is it truly due to thin innate endowment? No! The Bao Tiao resides between the Xin (Heart) and Shen (Kidney), connected superiorly to the Xin and inferiorly to the Shen. The coldness of the Bao Tiao stems from the decline and weakness of the Fire of both the Xin and the Shen. Therefore, treating the Bao Tiao requires first tonifying the Fire of the Xin and Shen.
The formula used is Wen Bao Yin (Warming the Uterus Decoction).
Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma, 1 liang, stir-fried with soil), Ba Ji Tian (Morindae Officinalis Radix, 1 liang, soaked in salt water), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix, 3 qian), Du Zhong (Eucommiae Cortex, 3 qian, stir-fried until black), Tu Si Zi (Cuscutae Semen, 3 qian, soaked in wine and stir-fried), Shan Yao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma, 3 qian, stir-fried), Qian Shi (Euryales Semen, 3 qian, stir-fried), Rou Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex, 2 qian, coarse bark removed, ground), Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, 3 fen, processed), Bu Gu Zhi (Psoraleae Fructus, 2 qian, stir-fried with salt water).
Decoct in water and take orally. After one month, the Bao Tiao will become warm. The wonder of this formula lies in tonifying the Xin while simultaneously tonifying the Shen, and warming the Shen while simultaneously warming the Xin. When the Qi of the Xin and Shen prospers, the Fire of the Xin and Shen naturally arises. When the Fire of the Xin and Shen arises, the coldness of the Bao Tiao naturally dissipates. Originally, due to the coldness of the Bao Tiao, semen was retained briefly and then expelled; now that the Bao Tiao generates its own heat, is there still any case where semen is given but not received? If the decoction is changed into pills and taken morning and evening, it can further secure essence, ensuring one will never sigh about having no heirs (like Bo Dao).
Marginal Note: Those seeking offspring nowadays often prefer taking hot-natured medicines, unaware that this formula is specifically designed for those with cold Bao Tiao. If the Bao Tiao has heat, it is unsuitable for use; please examine carefully.
Verse:
Women's lower parts are cold as ice,
Extreme cold in the uterus makes conception hard to achieve.
To turn cold springs into warm waters,
One must rely on the rising heat of spring sunshine.
To warm the uterus, use Ba Ji Tian and Du Zhong,
Add Ren Shen, Bai Zhu, Shan Yao, and Qian Shi to enhance efficacy.
With Tu Si Zi, Rou Gui, Fu Zi, and Bu Gu Zhi,
Changing decoction to pills also yields results.
