Severe epistaxis (nosebleed) approaching death: Burn hair to ash, take one cun qi (a traditional measure of volume) with water, and simultaneously insufflate the powder into the nasal cavity.
Another prescription:
Scrape fingernails with a knife into powder, insufflate into the nasal cavity to stop bleeding immediately.
The symptom of severe vomiting presents with prickles on the tongue and redness and swelling of both eyes. People assume it is Heat, but who would know it is actually a deficiency of Kidney Water? The Spleen and Stomach must rely on Kidney Water for moistening. Once Kidney Water is deficient, Fire in the Stomach boils and flares upward, resulting in red eyes and prickles on the tongue. However, this condition alternates between dryness and calmness; sometimes there is a desire to drink, but when water reaches the mouth, the desire vanishes. Even if forced to drink, it does not feel refreshing. This is False Heat above and True Cold below. It is suitable to use Liuwei Dihuang Tang (Six-Ingredient Rehmannia Pill) added with Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig) and Fuzi (Aconite Root), decocted in water and taken cold.
[This prescription is miraculous for treating conditions of False Heat above and True Cold below, and is suitable for severe vomiting.]
External treatment method:
First, rub the sole of the foot with hands until it becomes extremely hot. Then, decoct one Fuzi (Aconite Root) in water, dip an goose feather into the liquid, and sweep it over the affected area. Sweep repeatedly as it dries, and vomiting will cease shortly after. Subsequently, drink a large dose of Liuwei Dihuang Tang (Six-Ingredient Rehmannia Pill), and the patient will recover peacefully. Alternatively,服用 Xiaoyao San (Free and Easy Wanderer Powder) added with Huanglian (Coptis Rhizome) can also stop vomiting immediately.
Unfortunately, physicians of the world have recklessly administered miscellaneous medicines, leading to Yige (dysphagia/obstruction). The prescription is as follows:
Shu Di Huang (Prepared Rehmannia Root) (2 liang), Shan Yu Rou (Cornus Fruit) (1 liang), Dang Gui (Angelica Sinensis Root) (5 qian), Yuan Shen (Scrophularia Root) (1 liang), Niu Xi (Achyranthes Root) (3 qian), Bai Jie Zi (White Mustard Seed) (3 qian).
Decoct in water and take orally.
Generally, when Kidney Water is insufficient, the Large Intestine becomes dry and narrow. Food entering the Stomach cannot descend, thus reversing and vomiting upwards.
Cold Evil invading the Kidney Palace drags out all the fluids of the Spleen and Stomach, causing cold limbs (Jue Ni), unbearable lower abdominal pain. Applying heat provides slight relief; otherwise, the cold feels like death. Those unaware mistake it for a Stomach disease, but it is actually a Kidney disease. The prescription is as follows:
Fuzi (Aconite Root) (1 piece), Bai Zhu (Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome) (4 liang), Rou Gui (Cinnamon Bark) (1 qian), Gan Jiang (Dried Ginger) (3 qian), Ren Shen (Ginseng Root) (3 liang).
Decoct in water and take orally.
Vomiting stops as soon as the decoction is swallowed. Decocting the dregs again and taking them restores the patient to normal. [Kidney Water nourishes the human body; how can it overcome the Heart to cause death? Only when Yin-Cold Evil directly invades the Kidney Palace does Kidney Fire retreat outward. Various evils gather and counterattack the Heart Monarch, causing unrest. Therefore, it is necessary to use a batch of pungent and hot medicines such as Fuzi (Aconite Root), Rou Gui (Cinnamon Bark), and Gan Jiang (Dried Ginger). There is no need to excessively use Ren Shen (Ginseng Root) to stabilize changes. Letting the medicines distribute throughout the sectors creates an atmosphere of spring warmth, naturally dispersing Cold Evil and stopping vomiting.]
