Treatment for Yukou Chuang (commonly known as Biandu; if abscessed, it will ulcerate; if not yet formed, it will dissipate):
Wulingzhi (Trogopterus Dung), Mubiezi (Sparganii Fructus, husked), Chanshanjia (Manis Squama, stir-fried with蛤粉 Ge Fen), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix) (each 2.5 qian), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) (1 liang for robust individuals, 5 qian for frail individuals).
Take the above as one dose. Add two zhong of water, decoct to obtain one zhong. Take orally on an empty stomach. If diarrhea occurs five or seven times, recovery ensues. (Adding Quanxie (Scorpio, 0.5 qian) and Jiangcan (Bombyx Batryticatus, 2 qian) to this formula is especially effective.)
Chuanjinpi (Hibisci Mutabilis Folium), Huashi (Talcum), Baiwei (Cynanchi Atrati Radix) (each 3 qian), Yingfen (Accipiter Droppings, 0.7 fen), Banmao (Mylabris, wings, head, and feet removed, 10 pieces), Qiuyin Ni (Earthworm Soil, dried, 1.7 qian), Qingniangzi (Lytta Maderae, 4 pieces), Hongniangzi (Lytta Carthagensis, 4 pieces).
Grind the above into powder. Mix with Jinghua Shui (well water) to form a thick paste and apply to the affected area. For chronic cases lasting many years, apply five times; for recent onset, apply three times to eradicate the root cause.
Decoction for treating Fengxuan (wind tinea), Nongtan (purulent sores), and Jiechuang (scabies); suitable for all types of sores and toxins, with universal efficacy:
Danggui Shenwei (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, body and tail, 1.5 qian), Chishao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex) (each 1 qian), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, 3.7 qian), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, 0.8 fen), Mubiezi (Sparganii Fructus, one piece, husked), Jinyinhua (Lonicerae Japonicae Flos), Kushen (Sophorae Flavescentis Radix) (each 1.2 qian).
Decoct the above with one zhong of water and one zhong of wine until reduced to one zhong. Then add Dahuang, boil for three to four boils, remove from heat, and leave exposed overnight. Take at Wugeng (early morning, around 3-5 AM). For Changfeng (intestinal wind) or Zangdu (visceral toxin) causing hematochezia, omit Mubiezi and add Huaihua (Styphnolobii Semen, 1 qian).
Topical application for Nongtan and Jiechuang is highly effective: First take two doses of the aforementioned decoction, then apply topically for three to five days for complete recovery.
Da Fengzi (Aleuritidis Fructus, husked, 49 pieces), Xingren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum, skin and tip retained, 49 pieces), Chuanjiao (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium), Kufan (Alumen Exsiccatum), Qingfen (Calomelas, mercury can be used as substitute), Shechuangzi (Cnidii Fructus, ground separately into fine powder), Zhangnao (Borneolum Syntheticum) (each 3 qian).
Grind the above drugs finely. Melt Guiyou Zhu (candle oil from cabinet wood) and mix uniformly with the powder. Apply externally; healing occurs within three days.
Huangla (Beeswax, 1 liang), Toufa (Human Hair, size of a fist), Xiangyou (Sesame Oil, 1 liang), Qingfen (Calomelas, 2 qian, ground separately), Zhudan (Sus Scrofa Domesticus Gallbladder, 2 pieces).
First, boil Xiangyou for four to five boils. Then add Huangla and boil for another four to five boils. Subsequently, add Toufa and simmer over low fire, stirring constantly with Huai Liu Tiao (willow branches) until the hair dissolves. Filter cleanly, then add Qingfen, boil briefly, remove, place in a porcelain bowl, and soak in cold water for a short while to form an ointment. Apply to all types of Shichuang (damp sores). After half a day, yellow fluid will exude; wipe dry, reapply medicated dressing for seven days for complete cure.
