The patient's Qi and blood must be regulated to achieve robustness before administering this medicine.
Jinyu (Curcuma aromatica Rhizome) 5 qian; Zaocis Spina (Saposhnikoviae Radix spine, specifically from solitary plants with tips removed) 1 liang; Dahuang (Rheum palmatum Radix et Rhizoma, stir-fried) 1 liang; Bai Chou (Pharbitidis Semen, head powder, 6.5 qian, half raw and half processed). The above ingredients are ground into fine powder. Each dose is 5 qian, taken at dawn before sunrise, mixed with non-grain alcohol (wine without sediment), facing east. On the day of administration, foul matter, putrid pus, or parasites will definitely be discharged. If the mouth of the discharged parasite is black, it indicates a long-standing accumulation; if red, it indicates a recent formation. After a few days, administer another dose. Discontinue when no parasitic accumulation remains.
Another method: Use five branches—Tao Zhi (Peach Twig), Liu Zhi (Willow Twig), Sang Zhi (Mulberry Twig), Zhi Zi Zhi (Gardenia Twig), and Chu Zhi (Paper Mulberry Twig)—decocted strongly in water. Sit in a large vat so that the liquid submerges up to the neck for one day. The treatment is effective when an oily film forms on the surface of the decoction.
Yet another method: Decoct Zi Bei Fu Ping (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba, specifically the purple-backed variety) for bathing, which yields excellent results.
