Qing'e Wan (Green Young Pill)
Treats Kidney deficiency complicated by Cold-Dampness pathogenic factors.
Walnut kernel (30 pieces, remove shell and inner membrane) Gusuibu (6 liang, stir-fried with wine) Duzhong (16 liang, stir-fried with ginger juice) Garlic (4 liang, steamed into a paste)
Grind all together into powder, make pills the size of paulownia seeds.
Qixiao Fang (Miraculous Efficacy Prescription)
Walnut kernel Gusuibu Duzhong (each 1 qian)
Add 3 zhong of water, decoct to obtain 1 zhong, then take orally. (Note: The dosage of Gusuibu should be halved.)
Gan Jiang Ling Zhu Tang (Ginger, Atractylodes Macrocephala, Poria, and Licorice Decoction) (from *Jin Gui Yao Lue*)
Note: If Poria is removed from this formula and the remaining four herbs are used in equal proportions, it is named Shen Zhuo Tang (Kidney Binding Decoction), which has the same therapeutic effect.
Moyao Gao (Waist Rubbing Ointment) (from *Zhong Fu Tang*)
Suitable for treating lower back pain in the elderly or those with deficiency constitutions, and for women with clear, odorless leukorrhea due to Deficiency-Cold.
Fuzi (Prepared Aconite Root) Chuanwu (Chuan Wu Tou) Xingnan (Pinellia Rhizome Processed with Alum and Ginger) Sichuan pepper Realgar Camphor Dingxiang (Clove) Ganjiang (Dried Ginger) (2 qian) Shexiang (Musk) (2 fen)
Grind the above ingredients into powder, mix with refined honey to form pills the size of a bullet. Dissolve one pill in fresh ginger juice until it becomes a porridge-like consistency. Apply to the palm, warm it, and rub it onto the painful area of the waist. Immediately wrap the area with a warm cloth. After a short while, a sensation of intense heat will arise. Take one pill after each meal.
Spontaneous sweating refers to sweat flowing out spontaneously, belonging to Yang deficiency. It is suitable to use Yupingfeng San (Jade Windscreen Powder) added with Muli (Oyster Shell) and Fuxiaomai (Floating Wheat) to consolidate the exterior and tonify Yang. Night sweating refers to sweating during sleep and stopping upon waking, belonging to Yin deficiency. It is suitable to use Danggui Liu Huang Tang (Angelica Sinensis and Six Yellow Decoction) to nourish Yin and clear fire.
However, Yin and Yang have a mutual root relationship; there are cases where Yang deficiency is treated by addressing Yin, and cases where Yin deficiency is treated by addressing Yang. This must be understood. Furthermore, sweat is the fluid of the Heart, so it is appropriate to tonify the Heart, primarily using Renshen Yangrong Tang (Ginseng and Nutritive Qi Tonifying Decoction). Body fluids are governed by the Kidney, so it is appropriate to tonify the Kidney, primarily using Zuogui Yin (Left Restoring Decoction), Yougui Yin (Right Restoring Decoction), Liuwei Dihuang Wan (Six-Ingredient Pill with Rehmannia), and Jinkui Shenqi Wan (Golden Cabinet's Kidney Qi Pill).
In summary, the excretion of sweat relies on Yuan Qi (Original Qi) as its pivot. If there is profuse sweating accompanied by cold limbs, Liuhui Huyang Yin (Six-Ingredient Decoction to Restore Yang) must be used, with the dosage of Renshen (Ginseng Root) increased to approximately 1 liang, to salvage the condition. If Sha Han (Cold Damage) is mistakenly treated with diaphoresis, leading to dryness of fluids in the Upper Jiao, it will inevitably draw up Kidney Water, causing it to overflow like a gushing spring. This is termed Wang Yang (Collapse of Yang) and must be rescued with Zhenwu Tang (True Warrior Decoction).
This is because in this formula, Fuling (Poria) serves as the sovereign herb to stabilize water, and Fuzi (Prepared Aconite Root) serves as an assistant herb to restore Yang.
