[Prescription Verse] Chuan Ju (Stringed Carbuncle) arises between the back and hypochondrium, recurring successively with unchanged color; diffuse swelling gradually turns red accompanied by severe pain, its origin lies in accumulated resentment and stagnant fire.
[Annotation] This condition arises between the back and hypochondrium. Initially appearing in one location, it subsequently emerges sequentially in two or three places. Although the morphology differs, the color remains consistent. After ulceration, lesions often communicate with each other, hence also known as "Rat Burrowing" or "Wandering Blood Spleen Carbuncle." In the early stage, there is diffuse swelling without a head, skin color is normal, but swelling gradually increases and reveals a reddish hue. Pain often radiates to adjacent areas. The etiology is attributed to accumulated resentment and internal fire. Initially, Xian Fang Huo Ming Yin (Immortal Life Elixir Decoction) should be administered to disperse and resolve toxic stagnation. Subsequent internal and external treatments follow the protocols outlined in the sections on Carbuncles and Ulcers (Swelling Stage and Ulceration Stage).
Formula: Xian Fang Huo Ming Yin (See Section on Swelling Stage of Carbuncles and Ulcers)
[Prescription Verse] Alcohol-toxin eruptions cover the entire back; skin color remains unchanged, with lumps resembling bullets or fists, hard as stone, intermittent numbness, and pain penetrating the interior organs. This results from the consumption of medicinal wines and rich, greasy foods.
[Annotation] This condition arises on the spine. Skin color is unchanged, with lumps numerous like bullets or fists, hard as stone, accompanied by intermittent numbness and pain penetrating the five zang organs. Urination and defecation are obstructed and difficult. The whole body feels stiff and cramped. Several days later, the face, head, hands, and feet exhibit pitting edema, and diarrhea resembles dysentery. The root cause is excessive consumption of medicinal wines combined with toxin accumulation from rich foods. In the initial stage, Lian Qiao Xiao Du Yin (Forsythia Detoxification Decoction) is appropriate, followed by Nei Shu Huang Lian Tang (Internal Purging Coptis Decoction). If the condition resolves or suppurates, prompt treatment is favorable for recovery. If delayed for a long time without resolving or suppurating, it will inevitably lead to rotting of muscles and bones, becoming an adverse prognosis. Other internal and external treatments follow the protocols in the sections on Carbuncles and Ulcers (Swelling Stage and Ulceration Stage).
Formula: Lian Qiao Xiao Du Yin
