足厥阴肝经的脉气,起始于足大趾丛毛之处,向上沿足背内侧缘上行,距离内踝前一寸,再向上至内踝上八寸处,交叉出于足太阴脾经之后,向上沿腘窝内侧缘,沿大腿内侧进入阴毛中,经过生殖器,抵达小腹,夹胃两旁,归属于肝,联络胆腑,向上贯穿膈肌,分布于胁肋部,沿喉咙后方,向上进入颃颡(鼻咽部),连接目系(眼球连系脑的脉络),向上出于额部,与督脉交会于头顶;
The Classic states: The Liver is the official of the general, from which planning and deliberation arise.
It further states: The Liver resides below the diaphragm, attaching superiorly to the lower part of the ninth thoracic vertebra of the spine. This meridian is characterized by abundant blood and scarce qi. Its exterior correspondence is the sinews (tendons), its luster manifests in the nails. It primarily stores the Hun (Ethereal Soul), opens into the eyes, its system connects superiorly to the Heart and Lungs, and has no orifice inferiorly.
The *Nan Jing* (Classic of Difficult Issues) states: The Liver weighs two jin and four liang. It has three lobes on the left and four on the right, totaling seven lobes. As an organ, its functional governance is located on the left, while its physical body resides anterior to the right hypochondrium, adjacent to the ninth thoracic vertebra of the spine (Figure 71).
Text:
The Foot-Jueyin Liver Meridian originates at the pubic hair region of the big toe, ascends along the medial aspect of the dorsum of the foot, one cun anterior to the medial malleolus, then ascends eight cun above the ankle, crossing posterior to the Foot-Taiyin Spleen Meridian. It ascends along the medial aspect of the popliteal fossa, follows the medial aspect of the thigh, enters the pubic region, passes around the external genitalia, reaches the lower abdomen, flanks the Stomach, belongs to the Liver, and connects with the Gallbladder. It pierces through the diaphragm, spreads throughout the hypochondriac region, follows the posterior aspect of the throat, ascends into the nasopharynx (hangsang), connects with the optic nerve system (mu xi), emerges superiorly onto the forehead, and meets the Du Meridian at the vertex.
A branch descends from the optic nerve system to the inner cheek, encircling the interior of the lips. Another branch diverges from the Liver, pierces through the diaphragm, and ascends to pour into the Lungs (Figure 72).
Text:
The Foot-Jueyin Liver Meridian terminates here; it begins at the cluster of hairs at the tip of the big toe. At the medial border of the dorsum of the foot lies Taichong (LR3); one cun anterior to the medial malleolus is Zhongfeng (LR4). Ascending above the ankle, it crosses posterior to the Taiyin Meridian, following the medial popliteal region and the medial thigh (Yin Gu Chong). It circles the genitalia and reaches the lower abdomen, flanking the stomach, belonging to the Liver and connecting with the Gallbladder. It pierces the diaphragm and distributes in the costal region, flanking the throat and nasopharynx, connecting with the eye system. The pulse ascends to the vertex to meet the Du Meridian; a branch returns to originate within the eye system. Descending, it connects with the inner cheeks and circles the lips. Another branch communicates from the diaphragm to the Lungs.
Notes: [1] The Foot-Jueyin Liver Meridian originates at the Dazhuan (LR1) and Xingjian (LR2) acupoints at the junction of the pubic hair on the big toe. From Xingjian, it ascends along the medial border of the dorsum of the foot to Taichong (LR3). From Taichong, one cun anterior to the medial malleolus leads to Zhongfeng (LR4).
[2] From Zhongfeng, following five cun along the medial malleolus, one enters Ligou (LR5).
[3] From Ligou, ascending seven cun above the ankle to Zhongdu (LR8), and then eight cun above the medial malleolus, it crosses posterior to the Foot-Taiyin Meridian, ascending along the medial aspect of the ankle to Kunlun (LR7) and Ququan (LR8).
[4] From Ququan, following the medial thigh through Yinbao (LR9) and Wuli (LR10), entering Yinlian (LR11) in the pubic hair region, passing the genitalia to reach the lower abdomen, ascending to Zhangmen (LR13), proceeding from Zhangmen to Qimen (LR14). From Qimen moving inward, it flanks the stomach, belongs to the Liver, and connects with the Gallbladder. It pierces the diaphragm, distributes in the costal region, scatters among the zang-fu organs, follows the posterior throat, ascends into the nasopharynx, connects with the eye system, emerges onto the forehead, and meets the Du Meridian at the vertex.
[5] One branch does not ascend to meet the vertex but descends from below the eye to the inner cheek, circling the lips.
[6] Another branch diverges from the Liver, pierces the diaphragm, and ascends to pour into the Lungs, thereby connecting with the Hand-Taiyin Lung Meridian.
