Clause: Gao Feng Internal Obstruction is also known as "Night Blindness" (Ji Mang), characterized by blurred vision at night and restored vision at dawn. At night, one can look up but has difficulty looking down; this is caused by the depletion of Liver Blood and damage to Kidney Essence.
Treatment involves Bu Gan San (Tonify the Liver Powder), containing Lingyangjiao (Antelope Horn), Xixin (Asarum), Qianghuo (Notopterygium Rhizome), Fuling (Poria), Chushizi (Broussonetia Fruit), Renshen (Ginseng), Yuanshen (Scrophularia Root), Cheqianzi (Plantago Seed), Shihu (Dendrobium Stem), Xiakucao (Prunella Spike), and Fangfeng (Saposhnikovia Root); or Huan Jing Wan (Restore Vision Pill), containing Shijueming (Concha Arcae), Renshen (Ginseng), Xixin (Asarum), Chongweizi (Chervil Fruit), Zhimu (Anemarrhena Rhizome), Fuling (Poria), Xiongqiong (Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizome), and Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix).

Grind the above herbs into a fine powder, mix with refined honey to make pills the size of tung tree seeds. Take 3 qian on an empty stomach, washed down with tea infusion.
Annotation: [1] The symptom of Gao Feng Internal Obstruction is that both eyes cannot see clearly at night but regain vision at dawn.
[2] This arises from accumulated heat in the Liver and deficiency/damage in the Kidney Meridian, representing a state of weak Yang and flourishing Yin.
[3] At night, Yin grows; the Yin of nature assists the Yin of the body, allowing one to see objects above but not below. At dawn, Yang grows; the Yang of nature assists the Yang of the body, restoring clear vision. It is appropriate to use Bu Gan San and Huan Jing Wan.

Annotation: [1] "Dryness, roughness, and blurred vision" refers to the sensation of dryness and discomfort in the eyes, accompanied by blurred vision.
[2] This is a sign of simultaneous injury to the Liver and Kidney.
[3] It may result from indulgence in alcohol and lust, excessive visual labor, or excessive mental worry, all leading to this condition. It is appropriate to use Si Wu Wu Zi Wan to nourish Yin and tonify Water, with a slight effect of suppressing Fire, thereby cultivating the root.
