[Verse] The appearance of Huangshui Chuang (Yellow Water Sore) resembles millet grains; it itches when arising and hurts when ruptured. Externally caused by Wind pathogen, internally by Damp-Heat, the yellow fluid oozes and spreads, causing recurrence.
[Annotation] This condition initially appears like a millet grain, accompanied by both itching and pain. Upon rupture, it exudes yellow fluid, spreading into patches, and can occur anywhere on the body. It is formed by the interaction of internal Damp-Heat in the Spleen and Stomach with external Wind pathogen. It is suitable to take Shengma Xiaodu Yin (Cinnamon Twig and Rhizome Decoction for Dispersing Toxicity). If heat is severe, apply Qingge San (Green Clam Powder) externally; if dampness is abundant, apply Biyu San (Jade Dew Powder), which will be effective. For thick scabs, moisten with sesame oil; avoid washing with water.
Formula: Shengma Xiaodu Yin (Cinnamon Twig and Rhizome Decoction for Dispersing Toxicity)
Composition: Dangguiwei (Angelicae Sinensis Radix Rubra Caulis), Chishao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra), Jinyinhua (Lonicerae Japonicae Flos), Lianqiao (Forsythiae Fructus, heart removed), Niubangzi (Arctii Fructus, stir-fried), Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus, raw), Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Honghua (Carthami Flos), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, raw), Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix).
For a large dose, use two qian (approx. 7.5g) of each herb; for a medium dose, one and a half qian (approx. 5.6g); for a small dose, one qian (approx. 3.75g). Add two zhong (approx. 400-500 ml) of water, decoct until eight fen (approx. 160-200 ml) remains. Take hot after meals.
If the sore occurs on the head or face, reduce the dosage of Dangguiwei and Honghua.
[Verse] Shengma Xiaodu Yin dispels Wind-Dampness; it contains Danggui, Chishao, Jinyinhua, Niubangzi, Lianqiao, Zhizi, Qianghuo, Baizhi, Honghua, Fangfeng, Gancao, and Jiegeng. Taking it gradually resolves the oozing yellow fluid.
Another Formula: Qingge San (See section on Nasal Sore)
Biyu San (See section on Swallow's Nest Sore on the Face)
[Verse] Ulcerous boils occurring in the summer season present with swelling, redness, and pain, dizziness, bitter taste in the mouth, and redness of the back skin. The fever differs from that of Yongju (carbuncle and furuncle), persisting day and night as if attacked by fire.
[Annotation] This condition refers to minor ulcerous sores caused by summer heat toxins. Initially, there is a red halo on the skin of the back and chest, followed by swelling and pain. Fever occurs without fixed timing, continuing day and night, accompanied by dizziness, bitter taste, dry tongue, irritability, heat in the back, and limb fatigue. Initially, treat internally with Jingfang Baidu San (Schizonepeta and Saposhnikovia Decoction to Overcome Toxins) added with Huoxiang (Agastachis Herba), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), and Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum). External treatment should follow the methods for Yongju swelling and ulcers.
Formula: Jingfang Baidu San (Schizonepeta and Saposhnikovia Decoction to Overcome Toxins) (See section on Brain Carbuncle on the Neck)
[Verse] Zhangju (Miasma Carbuncle) is caused by mountain miasma toxins. Latent for a long time, pain attaches to sinews and bones. Initially black, then turning blue like a bruise from a fist blow. Urgently use Bian stone therapy to release evil blood; after pus matures, proceed with treatment.
[Annotation] This condition is caused by inhaling mountain miasma, which lies latent between sinews and bones for years. It causes pain attaching to sinews and bones. Initially appearing black, it becomes numb and hard like wood or stone. The toxin attaches to sinews and bones; only with heavy pressure is slight pain felt. After five to seven days, the toxin surges out causing swelling, then turns blue, resembling a bruise from a fist blow. Symptoms include chills similar to malaria, trembling head, deviation of the mouth, cold extremities, and tight, small pupils. When black color first appears, urgently use Bian stone therapy to release evil blood. Then take Buhuanjin Zhengqi San (Unchanging Golden Harmonizing Qi Decoction) added with Lingyangjiao (Saiga Tataricae Cornu) to drain pathogenic toxins. Subsequently, treat according to the methods for Yongju swelling and ulcers. If pus matures and breaks, discharging yellow-white pus indicates a favorable prognosis; discharging black fluid indicates danger.
Formula: Buhuanjin Zhengqi San (Unchanging Golden Harmonizing Qi Decoction)
Composition: Cangzhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, soaked in rice wash water, stir-fried), Houpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex, processed with ginger), Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Huoxiang (Agastachis Herba), Banxiaqu (Pinelliae Fermentatum, stir-fried, each two qian), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma Preparata, honey-fried, one qian).
Add two zhong of water, five slices of Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), and two pieces of Red Date flesh. Decoct until one zhong remains, strain; take slightly warm. Avoid raw, cold, and greasy foods.
[Verse] Zhengqi San arises from mountain miasma infection; latent for long, it generates carbuncles with body chills and cold. It is composed of Pingwei San added with Banxiaqu, Huoxiang, Shengjiang, and Zao, bringing peace upon consumption.
