《医心方》卷第三背诵篇
忘多:(《诸病源候论》说:容易遗忘,是因为心气虚弱。心神虚损而导致多忘。)《养生方》说:男子头部不要朝北睡;
The *Zhubing Yuanhou Lun* (Treatise on the Pathogenesis and Symptoms of All Diseases) states: Ke Re (Guest Heat) arises from disharmony in the internal organs, generating deficiency heat. When heat lodges in the Upper Jiao (Upper Burner), it causes phlegm accumulation in the chest and diaphragm, resulting in bitter taste in the mouth and dry tongue;
The *Qipo Fang* (Formulas of Qibo) for treating guest heat in the human body:
Take a handful of fresh Rehmanniae Radix (Sheng Dihuang Gen), wash it clean, crush and squeeze to extract the juice, add a small amount of honey, and take in small quantities frequently.
Another formula: Use Phyllostachys Viridis Caulis Succus (Zhuli, bamboo sap), wait until it cools down, and drink in small quantities frequently.
It also says: For treating guest heat during the late summer month:
Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma, 1 liang) Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, 1 fen, roasted) Isatidis Folium (Lan, 2 fen) Ginseng Radix (Renshen, 1 fen) Milii Semen (Sumi, 1 sheng; another version says 1 ge)
Boil with five sheng of water until reduced to half a sheng of liquid, remove the dregs, leave exposed to the night dew, and take as a single dose at dawn.
It also says, for treating difficulty swallowing due to astringency of the tongue and inability to eat:
Nasturtii Officinalis Herba (Ji, 12 fen) Ginseng Radix (Renshen, 2 fen) Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix (Fangji, 2 fen)
Cut, crush, and sieve into a powder. Take one fangcunbi (a measure roughly equivalent to a tablespoon) with water, twice daily. Continue taking this formula until the end of summer. It is usually necessary to take it in the morning; those without this condition should not take it.
The Zhuru Tang (Bamboo Shavings Decoction) from the *Lu Yan Fang* (Verified Formulas) treats guest heat in the chest, sores and ulcers in the mouth, and inability to eat:
Fresh Bamboo Shavings (Sheng Zhuru, 4 liang, scraped to remove the green outer layer) Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens (Shengjiang, 4 liang) Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, 2 liang) Peucedani Radix (Qianhu, 2 liang) Poria (Fuling, 2 liang) Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (Jupi, 1 liang)
These six ingredients are boiled with six sheng of water until two sheng remain. Divide and take the doses, finishing within half a day.
The Yangni Tang (Yang Reversal Decoction) from the *Fan Wang Fang* (Fan Wang's Formulas) treats heat in the chest, wheezing and upward reversal of qi, and shoulder lifting during respiration:
Pinelliae Rhizoma Preparatum (Banxia, half sheng) Ginseng Radix (Renshen, 1 liang) Gypsum Fibrosum (Shigao, one piece the size of a chicken egg) Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens (Shengjiang, 4 liang) Malt Sugar (Yi, 4 liang)
These five ingredients are boiled with fifteen dou of water until seven sheng remain. Take one sheng per dose, three times during the day and twice at night.
