*Duanju Fang* (Short Drama Formulas) provides a formula for treating Huoluan with severe diarrhea and abdominal pain: Take one handful of Ai Ye (Mugwort Leaf), add three sheng of water, boil down to one sheng, and take it all at once; this is effective.
It further states: For sudden vomiting and uncontrollable diarrhea in Huoluan, Ren Shen Tang (Ginseng Decoction) is the primary treatment. The formula is as follows:
Ren Shen (Ginseng Root) (2 liang) Fu Ling (Poria) (2 liang) Gegen (Kudzu Root) (2 liang) Ju Pi (Citrus Peel) (2 liang) Mai Men Dong (Ophiopogon Tuber) (2 liang) Gan Cao (Licorice Root) (2 liang)
These six ingredients are boiled in five sheng of water until two sheng remain, divided into three doses.
*Ge Shi Fang* (Ge's Formulas) provides a formula for treating Huoluan with unceasing diarrhea:
Moxibustion is applied to the lateral white flesh margin, one cun inside from the proximal interphalangeal joint of the great toe, seven moxa cones on each side. This acupoint is named Dadu (SP-2).

It also states: For unceasing vomiting and diarrhea, moxibustion is applied at the midpoint one fu below the umbilicus, seven moxa cones.
