方一十九首
治发薄不生方∶
先以醋泔清洗秃处，以生布揩令火热，腊月脂并细研铁生煎三沸，涂之日三遍。
生发须膏方∶
附子 荆实（各二两） 松叶 柏叶（各三两） 乌鸡脂（三合）
上五味， 咀，合盛新瓦瓶中，阴干百日出，捣以马 膏和如薄粥，涂头发如泽法裹絮
中，无令中风，三十日长。
令发速长而黑，敷药时特忌风方。
乌喙 莽草 续断 皂荚 泽兰 白术 细辛 竹叶（各一两） 防风 辛夷（各一两）
柏叶（细切，四两） 杏仁（别捣） 松叶（各三两） 猪脂（三升）
上一十四味，切，先以三年大醋三升渍令一宿，纳药脂中，煎三上三下，膏成去滓，涂
发及顶上。（《千金》有石楠。）
主发鬓秃落不生方∶

鸡脂（一云熊脂） 猪脂 狗脂（各五合）
上十一味，药五味，脂取成煎者，并切，以醋渍一宿，晓合煎之，沸则停火，冷更上，
一沸停，三上三下，去滓傅头，以当泽用之，三十日生矣。
又方∶羊矢灰灌取汁洗之。三日一洗，不过十洗，即生矣。
治落发方∶
柏叶（切，一升） 附子（二两）
上二味，捣筛，猪脂和，作三十丸。洗发时即纳一丸泔中，发不落。其药以布裹密器贮
，勿令泻气。
长发方∶
蔓荆子（三升） 大附子（三枚）
上二味， 咀，以酒一斗二升渍之。盛瓷瓶中，封头二十日。取鸡肪煎以涂之，泽以汁
栉发。十日长一尺，勿逼面涂。
又方∶麻子仁（三升） 秦椒（三升）
上二味，合以泔渍一宿，以沐发长矣。
又方∶麻子（二升） 白桐叶（一把）
上二味，以米泔汁煮去滓，适寒温，沐二十日长矣。
治发落方∶
锻石三升，水拌令湿，炒令极焦，停冷，以绢袋贮之，以酒三升渍之，密封。冬二七日
，春秋七日，取酒温服一合，常令酒气相接，七日落止，百日服之终身不落，新发生也。
又方∶桑白皮一石，以水一石煮三沸，以沐发三过即止。
令白发还黑方∶
陇西白芷 旋复花 秦椒（各一升） 桂心（一尺）
上四味，捣筛为散，以井花水服方寸匕，日三服，三十日还黑，禁房室。
又方∶乌麻丸蒸九曝捣末，枣膏和丸，久服之。
又方∶八角附子（一枚） 大酢（半升）
上二味，于铜器中煎取两沸，纳好矾石大如棋子一枚，消尽纳脂三两，和令相得，下之
搅至凝，纳竹筒中，拔白发，以膏涂上，即生黑发。
发黄方∶
腊月猪膏和羊矢灰、蒲灰等分敷之，三日一为取黑止。
又方∶以醋煮大豆，烂，去豆，煎冷稠，涂发。
又方∶熊脂涂发梳之，散头床底伏地一食顷，即出，形尽当黑。用之不过一升。
染发方∶
石榴三颗，皮叶亦得针沙如枣核许大，醋六升，水三升，和药合煮，得一千沸即熟，灰
汁洗干染之。
第十九首方：治疗头发稀疏不生的方法：先用醋淘米水清洗秃顶部位，用生布擦拭至局部发热。腊月收集的动物油脂与细研的生铁粉一起煎煮三沸，涂抹于患处，每日三次。
生发须膏方：附子、荆实（各二两），松叶、柏叶（各三两），乌鸡脂（三合）。以上五味药，切碎，混合装入新瓦瓶中，阴干一百天，捣碎后用马膏调和成稀粥状，涂抹头发如同使用润发油包裹棉絮一般，注意不要受风，三十天头发即可生长。
使头发快速生长且变黑，敷药时特别忌风的方剂：乌喙、莽草、续断、皂荚、泽兰、白术、细辛、竹叶（各一两），防风、辛夷（各一两），柏叶（细切，四两），杏仁（另捣），松叶（各三两），猪脂（三升）。以上十四味药，切碎，先用三年陈醋三升浸泡一夜，将药物和油脂放入锅中，煎煮时“三上三下”（即加热至沸离火，冷却后再加热，重复三次），膏成后滤去药渣，涂抹于头发及头顶。（《千金要方》中有石楠。）
主治鬓角脱发不生方：升麻、荠苨（各二两），莽草、白芷、防风（各一两），蜣螂（四枚），马脂、驴脂、雄鸡脂（一说熊脂），猪脂、狗脂（各五合）。以上十一味药，其中五种药材和五种油脂需预先煎制成熟，全部切碎，用醋浸泡一夜，清晨合煎，沸腾则停火，冷却后再加热，重复“三上三下”，滤去药渣敷于头部，当作润发油使用，三十天头发即可长出。
又一方：用羊矢灰浸取汁液清洗头部。三天洗一次，不超过十次，头发即可再生。
治疗脱发方：柏叶（切碎，一升），附子（二两）。以上两味药，捣碎过筛，用猪脂调和，制成三十丸。洗发时将一丸放入淘米水中，可防止脱发。药物需用布包裹，存放在密闭容器中，勿使药气泄漏。
长发方：蔓荆子（三升），大附子（三枚）。以上两味药，切碎，用酒一斗二升浸泡。盛于瓷瓶中，封口二十天。取出鸡脂肪煎煮后涂抹头发，用汁液梳理头发。十天头发长一尺，注意不要涂在面部。
又一方：麻子仁（三升），秦椒（三升）。以上两味药，合在一起用淘米水浸泡一夜，用来洗头可使头发长长。
又一方：麻子（二升），白桐叶（一把）。以上两味药，用米泔水煮沸去渣，待温度适宜时洗头，二十天头发即可长长。
治疗头发脱落方：锻石三升，用水拌湿，炒至极焦，冷却后装入绢袋，用酒三升浸泡，密封。冬季浸泡十四天，春秋季节七天，取温酒服用一合，常保持体内有酒气，七天后脱发停止，百日服用后可终身不落发，并促进新发生长。
使白发转黑方：陇西白芷、旋复花、秦椒（各一升），桂心（一尺）。以上四味药，捣碎过筛为散剂，用井花水送服一方寸匕，每日三次，三十天头发变黑，期间禁止房事。
又一方：黑芝麻蒸九次晒九次，捣成粉末，用枣膏调和成丸，长期服用。
又一方：八角附子（一枚），大醋（半升）。以上两味药，在铜器中煎煮两沸，放入如棋子大小的好矾石一枚，完全融化后加入三两油脂，调和均匀，搅拌至凝固，装入竹筒中。拔除白发，涂上此膏，即可生出黑发。
头发发黄方：腊月猪膏与羊矢灰、蒲灰等分混合敷之，三天一次，直至头发变黑为止。
又一方：用熊脂涂抹头发并梳理，披散头发趴在床底地上约一顿饭的时间，然后起身，全身毛发最终会变黑。用量不超过一升。
Formula 19: Treatment for thinning hair and alopecia: First, wash the bald area with rice water fermented in vinegar. Rub the area with raw cloth until it feels hot. Mix animal fat collected in the twelfth lunar month with finely ground raw iron powder, boil three times (three up-and-down cycles), and apply to the affected area three times daily.
Hair and Beard Growth Paste Formula: Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata) and Jing Shi (Elaeagnus Fructus), each 2 liang; Song Ye (Pinus Needle) and Bai Ye (Cupressi Cacumen), each 3 liang; Wu Ji Zhi (Fat of Black Chicken), 3 he. The above five ingredients are chopped, mixed, and placed in a new earthenware jar. Dry in the shade for 100 days. Pound into powder, mix with Ma Gao (Horse Fat) to a consistency like thin porridge. Apply to the hair as one would use hair oil or wrap cotton wool, avoiding exposure to wind. Hair will grow within 30 days.
Formula for Rapid Hair Growth and Darkening, Specifically Avoiding Wind During Application: Wu Hui (Aconiti Radix), Mang Cao (Radix Daphnes), Xu Duan (Dipsaci Radix), Zao Jia (Gleditsiae Sinensis Fructus), Ze Lan (Lycopersici Herba), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Xi Xin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma), Zhu Ye (Bambusae Folium), each 1 liang; Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) and Xin Yi (Magnoliae Flos), each 1 liang; Bai Ye (Cupressi Cacumen), finely cut, 4 liang; Xing Ren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum), pounded separately; Song Ye (Pinus Needle), each 3 liang; Zhu Zhi (Porcine Adipose Tissue), 3 sheng. The above 14 ingredients are chopped. Soak in 3 sheng of 3-year-old aged vinegar overnight. Add herbs and fat to the pot. Boil using the "three up-and-down" method (boil, remove from heat to cool, repeat three times). Strain the dregs when the ointment is ready. Apply to the hair and scalp. (Shi Nan [Photiniae Folium] is included in *Qianjin Yao Fang*.)
Formula for Mainly Treating Temporal Alopecia and Non-Growth: Sheng Ma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma) and Qi Ni (Periplocae Radix), each 2 liang; Mang Cao (Radix Daphnes), Bai Zhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), each 1 liang; Qiang Lang (Scarabaeus), 4 pieces; Ma Zhi (Equine Adipose Tissue), Lv Zhi (Asini Adipose Tissue), Xiong Ji Zhi (Rooster Adipose Tissue; alternatively Xiong Zhi [Ursine Adipose Tissue]), Zhu Zhi (Porcine Adipose Tissue), Gou Zhi (Canine Adipose Tissue), each 5 he. The above 11 ingredients: the five herbs and five fats should be pre-cooked/fried. Chop all ingredients, soak in vinegar overnight, and decoct at dawn. Stop heating when boiling, let cool, then heat again. Repeat the "three up-and-down" cycle. Strain and apply to the head as a hair dressing. Hair will grow within 30 days.
Another Formula: Wash the head with juice extracted from ash of sheep dung. Wash once every three days; after no more than ten washes, hair will regrow.
Treatment for Hair Loss: Bai Ye (Cupressi Cacumen), chopped, 1 sheng; Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), 2 liang. The above two ingredients are pounded and sifted, mixed with Zhu Zhi (Porcine Adipose Tissue) to form 30 pills. Dissolve one pill in rice water during hair washing to prevent hair loss. Store the medicine wrapped in cloth in a sealed container to prevent volatilization of medicinal qi.
Formula for Long Hair: Man Jing Zi (Vitalbae Fructus), 3 sheng; Da Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), 3 pieces. The above two ingredients are chopped and soaked in 1 dou 2 sheng of wine. Seal in a porcelain jar for 20 days. Fry Ji Fang (Chicken Adipose Tissue) and apply to the hair. Use the liquid to comb the hair. Hair will grow one chi in ten days. Do not apply near the face.
Another Formula: Ma Zi Ren (Cannabis Fructus), 3 sheng; Qin Jiao (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium), 3 sheng. The above two ingredients are soaked together in rice water overnight. Washing hair with this infusion promotes hair growth.
Another Formula: Ma Zi (Cannabis Fructus), 2 sheng; Bai Tong Ye (Morus Alba Leaf), one handful. The above two ingredients are boiled in rice water, strained, and used to wash hair when the temperature is suitable. Hair will grow long in 20 days.
Treatment for Falling Hair: Duan Shi (Calcined Alumen), 3 sheng. Moisten with water, stir-fry until extremely charred, and cool. Store in a silk bag. Soak in 3 sheng of wine and seal tightly. Soak for 14 days in winter, or 7 days in spring and autumn. Take 1 he of warm wine orally. Maintain a state of mild intoxication. Hair loss stops after 7 days. Taking this for 100 days prevents lifelong hair loss and promotes new hair growth.
Another Formula: Sang Bai Pi (Mori Cortex), 1 shi. Boil in 1 shi of water for three boils. Wash hair three times, then stop.
Formula for Turning White Hair Black: Long Xi Bai Zhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix from Longxi), Xuan Fu Hua (Inulae Flos), Qin Jiao (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium), each 1 sheng; Gui Xin (Cinnamomi Ramulus), 1 chi. The above four ingredients are pounded and sifted into powder. Take 1 cun bi (square-inch spoonful) with well water, three times daily. Hair turns black in 30 days. Abstain from sexual intercourse.
Another Formula: Wu Ma (Sesame Fructus Nigrum) steamed nine times and sun-dried nine times, pounded into powder, mixed with Zao Gao (Date Paste) to form pills. Take for a long time.
Another Formula: Ba Jiao Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata with eight angles), 1 piece; Cu (Vinegar), half sheng. The above two ingredients are boiled twice in a copper vessel. Add 1 piece of Hao Fan Shi (Alumen) the size of a chess piece until dissolved. Add 3 liang of fat, mix well, and stir until solidified. Store in a bamboo tube. Pluck white hairs, apply the ointment, and black hair will grow.
Formula for Yellow Hair: Mix Zhu Gao (Lard from the twelfth lunar month) with equal parts Yang Shi Hui (Ash of Sheep Dung) and Pu Hui (Typha Ash). Apply to the hair. Once every three days, continue until hair turns black.
Another Formula: Boil soybeans in vinegar until soft. Remove beans, boil the residue until cold and thick, and apply to the hair.
Another Formula: Apply Xiong Zhi (Ursine Adipose Tissue) to the hair and comb. Lie on the floor under the bed with hair loose for the duration of a meal. Rise, and the body hair will eventually turn black. Use no more than 1 sheng.
Hair Dyeing Formula: 3 Pomegranates, including peel and leaves. Sandarac (Zhen Sha) the size of a jujube pit. Vinegar 6 sheng, Water 3 sheng. Boil the mixture for 1,000 boils until ready. Wash with ash lye, dry, and dye.
