In the evening before going to bed, wash the face with warm rice water (浆水), and rub the black nevus (black spots on the skin) with a cloth until it becomes red and painful. Puncture the black nevus, grind White Sandalwood (Bai Zhantan) in water, take the thick juice, and apply it on top. In the morning, wash the face again with warm rice water, and still sprinkle Eagle Droppings Powder (Yingshi Fen) on it.
Half a Chinese Water Chestnut (Biqi), paste it on the affected area. After one night, continue doing so the next evening. After five or six times, the corn will naturally fall off along with its root.
Radish (Laifu), decoct the juice, wash the affected area frequently, and it will heal spontaneously.
The seedlings of Tribulus Terrestris (Jili), boil into a soup to wash the affected area, and it will heal immediately.
Dry tinea (Gan Xuan) has formed crusts for years; scratching causes yellow fluid to exude, and itching occurs whenever it is rainy. Treatment uses: Mylabris (Banmao) half liang, lightly stir-fried and ground into powder, mixed and applied to the affected area.
Scrape the sore until it cracks, moxa-burn and massage with fingers, mix Cnidium Seed (Shechuangzi) powder with lard and apply to the affected area; stop when healed. Alternatively, use half a jin of Broussonetia Leaf (Chuye), finely chop and pound into a paste, and apply to the tinea.
Realgar (Xionghuang) and Sulfur (Huanghuang) each one liang, Atractylodes Root (Yangti Gen), White Sugar, and Lotus Leaf (Heye) each one liang. The latter three ingredients are pounded into a paste, combined with the former two, pounded again, mixed, and applied. If too hard, add a little honey to soften it. It will heal within no more than three applications.
Coptis Rhizome (Huanglian) 14 zhu, Veratrum Nigrum (Lilu) 12 zhu, Rhubarb (Dahuang) one liang, Dried Ginger (Ganjiang) 14 zhu, [Unknown Herb] 10 zhu, Polygonum Arvaticum (Mangcao) 12 zhu, Daphne Odora (Yangzhizhu) 10 zhu. Pound and sieve the above herbs, fry them in two jin of pork lard over a low fire facing east, performing three "up and down" processes. Once the ointment is ready, remove the scabs and apply the juice thoroughly; it is extremely effective. Do not let women, chickens, or dogs see it during preparation.
All leprosy-like diseases arise from evil wind and violating taboos. Initially, one feels numbness in the skin, an itching sensation like insects crawling; immediate treatment is required. This disease has eight or nine types, all requiring abstinence from grains and meats, consuming only Sesame (Huma), Pine Leaves (Songzhu), and Atractylodes Macrocephala (Baizhu). Treatment uses: Sophora Flavescens (Kushen) five jin, finely cut, soaked in three dou of aged wine for four or five days, drink slowly two or three he. Externally: Use one dan of [Unknown Herb], boil in two shi of water to obtain one shi, and wash the affected area. Within three to five times, it should heal.
The initial onset of this syndrome is no different from the previous one, except that within the skin and flesh, there may be lumps like plums or peaches, hidden rashes appearing red or black, and stubborn numbness in the hands and feet. The hands and feet do not feel pain, but one cannot step on the ground with their feet; the body suffers from sore pain, and both elbows feel as if bound by ropes. This is called Black Leprosy (Wu Lai). Treatment uses: [Unknown Skin] (roasted), Clam (Kuige), Viper Head (Fushe Tou, powdered), Robber Fly (Mumeng, wings and legs removed, roasted) four pieces, Horsefly (Mengchong, wings and legs removed, roasted), Ground Beetle Larva (Qicao) each one piece (all roasted), Pangolin Scales (Lingli Jia, head and legs removed, roasted), [Unknown Insect] (Ge Shang Tingchang, roasted) seven pieces, Mylabris (Banmao, wings and legs removed, roasted) seven pieces, Centipede (Wugong, head and legs removed, roasted), Prepared Aconite (Fuzi, soaked and peeled) each three pieces, Spider (Zhizhu, roasted) five pieces, Leech (Shuizhi) one piece, Polyporus (Leiwan) thirty pieces, Croton Seed (Badou, peeled and cored, roasted) fifteen pieces, Mercury (Shuiyin), Rhubarb (Dahuang), Realgar (Zhen Dan), Cinnamon Twig (Guixin), and Aconitum Lateralis Preparatum (Shewang) each one liang, Coptis Rhizome (Huanglian) one fen, Gypsum (Shigao) two liang, Sichuan Pepper (Shujiao) three fen, Mirabilite (Mangxiao) one fen, Long Bone (Longgu) three fen, Kansui (Gansui, roasted), Alum (Fanshi, calcined), and Talcum (Huashi) each one fen. Pound and sieve the above twenty-eight ingredients, mix with honey to make pills the size of broad beans. Take two pills, three times a day. Increase dosage until efficacy is observed. Note: The dosages of the various herbs in this formula vary greatly, likely due to recording errors; adjust according to judgment when using. (Sun Simiao's annotation)
