Given list, likely Sandalwood or similar. Let's use generic 'Sha' or assume Sandalwood based on common formulas, but strict translation requires caution. Actually, 'Sha' might be a typo for 'Sharen' or 'Muxiang'. However, sticking to text: Sha 3 liang), Terminalia Chebula Retzii Fructus (Hezi) 1 liang (wrapped in flour, roasted thoroughly, flour removed), Alismatis Rhizoma (Zexie) 2 liang, Gardeniae Fructus (Zhizi Ren) 2 liang.
Finely chop each of the above herbs into powder, add 2 sheng of rice vinegar, and soak for three days. Place in a silver or ceramic vessel, and slowly simmer over low heat until the vinegar is completely evaporated. Dry by baking, then stir-fry until yellow-black, preserving the medicinal nature. Add the following secondary herbs:
Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum (Muxiang), Cinnamomi Ramulus (Rougui), Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (Chenpi) (white pith removed), Eugeniae Caryophyllati Flos (Dingxiang), Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride (Qingpi) (skin removed), Myristicae Semen (Roudoukou), Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin - assuming 'Huang' implies Huangqin given context of clearing heat/stagnation, or just Huanglian/Huangbo, but usually Huangqin in such mixes. Text says 'Huang', likely short for Huangqin or Huanglian. I will use Scutellariae Radix as most common), Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu), Myrrha (Moyao), Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (Fuzi) (soaked until cracked, skin and umbilicus removed) — each of these 1 liang; Paeoniae Radix (Shaoyao), Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuanxiong), Phaseoli Volubilis Semen (Bai Qianniu) (stir-fried), Pinelliae Rhizoma (Tiannanxing) (water-boiled), Testudinis et Trionycis Carapax et Plastrum (Biejia) (cracked, soaked in vinegar, roasted until yellow), Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata (Shu Dihuang) (soaked in wine overnight), Moutan Cortex (Mudanpi), Poria (Chifuling), Brassicae Pekinensis Seed (Yuntaizi) (stir-fried), Zingiberis Rhizoma (Ganjiang) (soaked until cracked, skin removed) — each of these 2 liang.
Grind all the above into fine powder and mix with the previous powder. Use vinegar paste as a binder to form pills the size of mung beans. During preparation, one must work in a clean room and maintain utmost sincerity for the remedy to be effective.
