This syndrome is caused by the depletion of Kidney Water and the flourishing of Heart Fire, compounded by the austere and killing Qi of Heaven and Earth. Although the physical manifestations appear on the skin, the toxicity actually accumulates within the Zang-Fu organs (internal organs). The symptoms initially present as numbness and insensitivity of the skin, followed by the eruption of red macules, then edema, with ulcerated lesions that lack pus. If the condition persists for a long time, damp-heat generates parasites that erode and bore into the Zang-Fu organs, often resulting in the loss of eyebrows, damage to the eyes, cracked lips, hoarseness, tinnitus, perforation of the soles of the feet, detachment of finger joints, and collapse of the nasal bridge. The treatment method begins with: Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang) and Perilla Fructus (Suye), each half a jin; Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng) and Schizonepetae Spica (Jingjie), each four liang. Decoct these in enough water to fill one barrel for bathing and soaking, then change into clean clothes. Subsequently, use: Raw Lac Resin (Shengqi) and Pine Rosin (Songxiang), each half a jin. Mix evenly, place in a clay pot, add seven large swimming crabs (double the quantity if small crabs are used), bury half of the pot in the soil, expose it to the sun during the day while stirring with willow branches, and cover it at night. After twenty-one days, a liquid is formed. Then, use: Realgar (Xionghuang) half a jin, Ophiorrhiza Mungo Skin (Shetui) seven strips, Aconitum carmichaelii Lateral Root (Chuannwu) and Aconitum kusnezoffii Root (Caowu) (both soaked in ginger juice), Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen) and Gastrodia Rhizoma (Tianma), each two liang. Grind all into powder, form pills using the crab-lac resin liquid, and take after bathing. Each dose is three qian, taken with aged wine. Drink until intoxicated, cover with blankets to induce sweating, remove clothing once sweat dries, burn the old clothes in an open area, and wear new clothes. At noon, take another three qian with aged wine until intoxicated. Then, steam Old Chrysanthemum Herb (Xiakucao) and lie on a mat placed over it, without inducing sweat. Repeat this procedure the next day, burning old clothes and herbs. Continue thus for seven days, causing the pathogenic factors to exit completely, manifesting like smallpox or sores. Take the medicine for another seven days; upon scab detachment, the patient recovers. Lifelong avoidance of crab and dog meat is required.
Another prescription: Campsis grandiflora Flower (Lingxiaohua) five qian, Pheretima (Dilong) (roasted), Bombyx Batryticatus (Jiangcan) (stir-fried), and Scorpio (Quanxie) (stir-fried), seven of each. Grind into powder, take two qian per dose with warm wine; first bathe the body with medicinal decoction, then take the medicine, continuing until foul-smelling sweat is discharged.
Wind-dried Water Caltyp Shell (Fenglingqiao) burned to ash, ground fine, mixed with sesame oil, applied topically; extremely effective.
One eggplant branch (with root and leaves) decocted for fumigation and washing; shedding of the crust occurs within seven days, highly efficacious.
