Treats pediatric sores and scabies, as well as thirty-six types of wind diseases; taking this medicine will surely lead to a cure.
*Gastrodiae Rhizoma* (Washed), *Arisaematis Tuber*, *Belleae Rhizoma*, *Angelicae Pubescentis Radix*, *Bombyx Batryticatus* (White), *Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata* (Processed), *Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix* (Washed), *Scorpio* (Whole, each 1 liang), *Bovis Calculus*, *Borneolum Syntheticum* (each 1 fen, finely ground), *Moschus* (0.5 liang, finely ground, added later to the other medicines). The above eleven medicinal materials must be of high quality, cleaned thoroughly, dried indoors during the day without exposure to fire, pounded into fine powder, and made into pills the size of pea seeds with refined honey. For various types of wind diseases, take five pills with warm wine infused with *Menthae Haplocalycis Herba*. For women's blood wind disease, add a small amount of *Angelicae Sinensis Radix* powder and take with warm wine. If it is paralysis due to wind, where the patient cannot get out of bed, first use 0.5 liang of *Alumen* powder and ten stalks of *Allii Fistulosi* to decoct in water for a warm bath; afterwards, take thirty pills with warm wine infused with *Menthae Haplocalycis Herba* juice, cover with clothes and blankets to induce sweating, and separately take tonic medicines. For men or women with sores, tinea, or scrofula, one must follow the bathing method described above, take thirty pills, induce sweating, and recover on the same day. For pediatric sores and scabies, bathing should also be done as usual; take one pill per year of age, and sweating must be induced for recovery. Avoid consuming wheat products, pork, fish, and toxic foods.
Use rabbit meat/blood from the twelfth lunar month ("rabbit child blood-activating"), mix it with steamed dough, make pills the size of millet grains, take five pills each time, send down with "rootless water" (rainwater/snowmelt); for infants drinking milk, send down with breast milk.
Treating sores that are about to erupt but have not yet spread evenly through the skin.
Use *Arctii Fructus* in any quantity, stir-fry until cooked, pound into fine powder. Take one qian each time, add two spikes of *Schizonepetae Spica*, decoct together with one cup of water until reduced to 70%, let cool to warm temperature, and administer. If the sores/rash have already erupted, continuing to take it is also excellent.
Carbuncles and deep-seated abscesses (*Yongju*) arise from disharmony among the five zang organs and six fu organs. The five zang organs govern the interior; their qi moves through the meridians and sinks. The six fu organs govern the exterior; their qi moves through the meridians and floats. If emotions like joy and anger are irregular, diet is unregulated, yin and yang are not harmonized, and cold and heat interfere with each other, then the qi of the zang and fu organs becomes deficient. Qi deficiency leads to open and loose interstices (*Couli*), allowing cold pathogenic factors to lodge between the meridians. Constrained by cold, *Ying* (nutritive) and *Wei* (defensive) qi stagnate in the vessels. *Ying* refers to blood, and *Wei* refers to qi. When blood and nutritive qi encounter cold, they become stagnant and cease to flow; defensive qi follows, battling with the cold pathogen, causing obstruction and blockage. Qi belongs to Yang; accumulation of Yang qi generates heat. Since cold and heat do not dissipate, they accumulate to form carbuncles and abscesses. The manifestation of a carbuncle (*Yong*) is that the toxic vapor is superficial, the skin is thin and glossy. The syndrome of an abscess (*Ju*) is characterized by thick skin resembling the neck of an ox, indicating deep-seated toxic vapor. Over time, heat surpasses cold, and intense heat accumulates, damaging flesh and ruining muscle tissue; when flesh necroses, it transforms into pus and blood. Carbuncles belong to the exterior level, bone marrow remains intact, and they are easy to treat. Abscesses belong to the zang organ level, damaging bones and rotting tendons, making them difficult to manage. The classics state: one to two cun is a carbuncle, three to four cun is a carbuncle [note: text likely contains error here, usually distinguishing depth/size], five cun to one chi is an abscess, one chi to two or three chi is called a whole-body abscess. An abscess forms a round opening, expelling various qi. People who are frustrated and unfulfilled in their desires often suffer from blood and qi stagnation, which easily triggers this disease. Any furuncle or boil is caused by the six fu organs receiving pathogens, leading to meridian congestion and eruption; the heat toxin is superficial and causes little harm. However, when pus and blood are discharged, they must be completely cleared; otherwise, re-infection occurs, worsening the condition.
To treat all carbuncles and swellings that have not yet ruptured, relieving pain and resolving them internally:
Pound fresh *Rehmanniae Radix* into a paste. Spread it on cloth according to the size of the swelling, sprinkle *Costi Rhizoma* powder in the middle, then spread another layer of *Rehmanniae Radix* paste, and apply it to the swelling. Repeat no more than three to five times.
