The eyes are the essence of the five zang organs and six fu organs, the gathering place of the master vessels, and the external manifestation of the Liver. The deficiency or excess of the zang-fu organs, along with pathogenic factors such as Wind, Phlegm, and Heat, can invade; when Wind transmits to the Liver and rushes upward to the eyes, various eye diseases arise.
