Light, clear, round, and vigorous constitutes Heaven; thus the head corresponds to Heaven. Heavy, turbid, square, and dense constitutes Earth; thus the feet correspond to Earth. Drifting and coming and going constitutes Clouds; thus the spirit/manner corresponds to Clouds. Flowing and circulating constitutes Water; thus the blood corresponds to Water. Heaven's Qi descends, Earth's Qi ascends; Clouds prevail, Water flows; each follows its nature. Therefore, all things grow endlessly, Yang is balanced, Yin is secure, Qi moves and Blood follows, each attaining harmony. Thus, the hundred bones are regulated and there is surplus. Conversely, Heaven and Earth do not descend or ascend, Clouds and Water do not flow effectively, each failing to follow its nature. Conversely, Yin and Yang are neither balanced nor secure, Qi and Blood do not move and follow, each failing to attain harmony. Hence it is said: The human body is a small Heaven and Earth. The *Nan Jing* (Classic of Difficult Issues) states: Blood is Ying (Nutritive Qi), Qi is Wei (Defensive Qi); Ying circulates within the vessels, Wei circulates outside the vessels. This clearly shows that Blood and Qi are separate and not mixed, moving without obstruction. Thus, they are like Clouds rising and Water flowing, not mixing. Generally, Blood and Qi are such that they should not mix; if mixed, they become obstructed; if obstructed, they form knots; if knotted, they have nowhere to go or return, thus emerging hidden within the skin, becoming warts. However, they appear according to the meridians. Warts starting from the eyelashes are formed by the mixing and knotting of Blood and Qi in the Hand-Shaoyin Heart Meridian and Foot-Jueyin Liver Meridian. At the initial stage, they are merely bean-sized. In cases of deficient Blood and Qi, they stop growing; in some cases, after stopping for a long time, they grow again. In robust cases, they gradually enlarge, continuing to grow until they resemble cups, bowls, or buckets, all originating from bean-sized beginnings. Treatment must be initiated early, selecting days when the patient's Shen (Spirit) is not violated. The general principle is to ensure the patient is full and not hungry, then wash the eyes with cold well water as if ice, preventing the movement of Qi and Blood. Then, hold copper chopsticks with the left hand to press on the eyelashes, use the right hand to turn the eyelid inside out so the wart protrudes. Switch to using the left thumb to press it firmly to prevent displacement. Use the tip of a small eyebrow knife held in the right hand to slightly pierce the lesion. Then, use the thumbnails of both hands to pinch and extract it. What is extracted resembles a small yellow fat particle the size of a bean. To fear that the root may not be severed upon extraction, it is advisable to cut it off with the tip of the eyebrow knife. Wash again with well water; after washing, there will be no harm. The key lies in dexterous manual technique. After the procedure, administer Fangfeng Sanjie Tang (Saposhnikovia Decoction for Dissipating Knots). Several doses will lead to recovery. This disease cannot be removed without manual technique. Why? Because when Blood and Qi first mix, medicine can naturally reach the site, but the patient is unaware of this mixing. Once knotted, medicine cannot reach it; thus, manual removal is necessary. After removal, ascending and dispersing medicines must be used. When both medicine and manual technique are applied, the matter can be resolved.
