When residing in the mountains, if a copper coin is accidentally swallowed and stuck in the throat while eating by the stream, use fresh Cyperus difformis (Cigu) juice extracted by crushing to gargle and swallow.

The prescription from *Waitai Mi Yao* (Prescriptions of the Outer Cabinet): Treats coins, gold, and silver objects accidentally swallowed and stuck in the throat. Use 1 liang of lead carbonate (Hufen), mixed with a small amount of saltpeter (Xingshi), pounded together and taken. Divide into two doses. If gold or silver has been swallowed into the abdomen, this medicine will also dissolve and expel them.

Another prescription: Treats coins stuck in the throat. Take one handful of mugwort (Ai), add five sheng of water, decoct until one sheng remains, and take it all at once; the coin will then pass down.

Qian Yi's prescription: Treats accidentally swallowed coins. Use four liang of Radix Stemona (Baibu), steeped in one sheng of wine overnight, warm and take one sheng.

Ge Hong's prescription: Treats accidentally swallowed hairpins. Take yellow chives (Jiu Huang), dry them until they become withered and yellow, cook thoroughly without cutting, eat a large bundle, and the pin will pass down.

Yet another prescription: Treats fish bones, bamboo, wood, and other objects causing choking that cannot be swallowed. Use ivory powder (Xiangya Xie) ground into fine powder, mixed with water, and take one qian.

Mantra method from the Daoist Canon: The mantra states: "I invite Lord Lao to flow smoothly eastward; Lord Lao, by imperial decree, captures and suppresses the toxic waters of Dharma. I rely on the dignity of the Great Emperor which is not yet present; those who invoke my name shall each manifest the body of the Emperor. Hurry, as per the law! By imperial decree, capture." Recite this once in a single breath. Simultaneously, bend the middle and ring fingers of the left hand to form the Three Mountains Seal (Sanshan Yin). Place a bowl of pure water above. Pinch the Mao character pattern with the right hand to form the Golden Spear Seal (Jinqiang Yin). Left hand below, right hand above. The left hand represents Earth, the right hand represents Heaven. Voidly pull and voidly drive, setting nine times as the standard. Extend the left foot horizontally, keep the right foot firm, standing in a 'Ding' (丁) character shape, performing according to the method. Face the sun, moon, or lamp fire, inhale one breath, and blow it into the cup. This method has no taboos; when using it, maintain upright spirit and vital energy.

Divine Formula Mantra Method: For urgent bone sticking where no medicine is available, use one cup of freshly drawn water. Chant the mantra: "I follow the eastward flow, how can there be toxic karma?" Recite seven times in one breath, hurry as per the law. Gaze at the sun, moon, or lamp light to gather qi, blow it into the water, and have the patient drink three large mouthfuls; within a moment, the object will pass down.

Nine Dragons Entering the Cave Method: Form the Three Mountains Mudra (Sanshan Jue) with the left hand, holding a cup of pure water facing east. Form the Sword Mudra (Jian Jue) with the right hand, writing the characters "Cloud," "Dragon," and "Ghost" (Yun Long Gui) onto the water surface. Chant the mantra: "This cup transforms into the Eastern Ocean, the throat becomes a ten-thousand-zhang deep pool. The method of Nine Dragons Entering the Cave: I obey the Supreme Lord Lao, hurry as per the law. Decree: swallow one mouthful of magical water, the choking dissolves accordingly." Have the person place a nine-jointed bamboo stick of one cun length in their mouth each time, swallowing according to the method, assuming no obstruction exists.

After any object causing choking has passed down, do not immediately give rice soup or rice, lest rice grains enter the wound. Instead, consume soup for several days. The mantras preceding the soup can treat all kinds of objects, bones, and hair strands stuck in the throat. As stated in the *Nei Jing* (Inner Canon): "Those diseases caused externally not due to the movement of qi" are treated using the mantra methods from the *Zang Jing* (Canon of Treasures).
