（丹砂/朱砂）无毒。主要功效是通利血脉，止烦闷胀满、消渴，补益精神，使面色红润光泽，去除中恶之气、腹痛、毒瓦斯以及疥癣等各种疮疡。长期服用可使身体轻盈，甚至成仙。研磨成粉末称为“真朱”，其光色如云母，能够析出者品质优良。产于符陵，采集时间不限。（忌磁石，畏咸水。）

（空青）味酸，大寒，无毒。主要功效是补益肝气，治疗目赤肿痛，去除眼部翳膜，止泪，通利水道，下乳汁，通关窍、破除坚积。长期服用使人记忆力增强，志向高远，乃至成仙。产于益州及越地山中有铜矿之处。铜精熏蒸则生成空青，其中三月间采集，亦无固定时间。

Yu Xie (Jade Dust) is sweet in taste, neutral in nature, and non-toxic. It primarily eliminates heat in the stomach, relieves panting, alleviates vexation and fullness, and stops thirst. It should be taken as powder resembling hemp or soybeans. Long-term use makes the body light and prolongs life. It is produced in Lantian, and can be collected at any time. Kong Qing (Chrysocolla) is non-toxic. It primarily promotes blood circulation, treats leukorrhea and twelve types of gynecological disorders in women, resolves Qi stagnation and strangury, and clarifies the eyes and ears. Long-term use makes the body light and prolongs life. It is produced in Lantian, and can be collected at any time. (Averse to Dendranthemi Flos [Winter Daisy Flower].)
Original text from *Shennong Bencao Jing*: Yu Quan (Jade Spring) is sweet in taste and neutral in nature. It treats diseases of the five Zang organs and all ailments, softens tendons and strengthens bones, calms the Hun and Po spirits, promotes muscle growth, and tonifies Qi. Long-term use enables one to endure cold and heat without feeling hungry or thirsty.
Zhu Sha (Cinnabar) is non-toxic. It primarily unblocks blood vessels, stops vexation and fullness, treats polydipsia, benefits the spirit, enhances facial luster, removes malignant Qi, abdominal pain, toxic vapors, scabies, and various sores. Long-term use makes the body light and leads to immortality. When ground into powder, it is called "Zhen Zhu" (True Cinnabar); those with luster like mica that can be separated are of good quality. It is produced in Fuling, and can be collected at any time. (Incompatible with Magnetitum [Magnetite], averse to saline water.)

Long-term use opens the mind to spiritual insights and prevents aging. It can be transformed into Mercury. It is produced in mountain valleys.
Shui Yin (Mercury) is toxic. Applied externally to the male genitals, it causes atrophy and loss of vitality. Also known as Gong (Mercury), it is produced in Fuleng and derived from Zhu Sha (Cinnabar). (Averse to Magnetitum [Magnetite].)
Original text from *Shennong Bencao Jing*: Shui Yin (Mercury) is pungent in taste and cold in nature. It treats scabies, crusty ulcers, and alopecia capitis (white baldness), kills lice in the skin, induces abortion, clears heat, and detoxifies gold, silver, copper, and tin. When melted, it reverts to Dan (Cinnabar).
Kong Qing (Chrysocolla) is sour in taste, very cold in nature, and non-toxic. It primarily tonifies Liver Qi, treats red and painful eyes, removes corneal opacities, stops tearing, promotes urination, induces lactation, opens orifices, and breaks down hard accumulations. Long-term use improves memory, elevates aspirations, and leads to immortality. It is produced in Yizhou and in mountains of Yue where copper deposits exist. Kong Qing forms when copper essence is fumigated by copper minerals; it can be collected in mid-March or at any time.
