论曰服石之法，觉饥则食，坐卧衣服如之，则将适有度，而石势不作，倘将适失度。则
其热壅滞，血气涩结，此身体所以生疮，且屦袜至微，一过乎温，则足指生疮，况身体履幂
周密之至，鲜有不为患者。
治乳石发热，体生细疮，并热不已。黄连汤方
黄连（去须） 芒硝（各三两）
上二味，以水七盏，先煎黄连至四盏，去滓纳芒硝末搅匀，停温以手巾蘸药，拓疮上。
治乳石发热，遍体生疮，兼气力弱。大黄汤方

以利下三两行为度，仍用前黄连汤，涂疮肿上。

上四味，粗捣筛，每五钱匕，水三盏，入葱白二茎，煎至一盏半，去滓纳豉二合。更煎

上五味，粗捣筛，每服五钱匕，先以水五盏。煎小麦二合，竹叶二十片，至三盏。去滓
下药末，重煎至一盏半，去滓分温二服，空心日晚各一。
治乳石发动，体上生疮，结气肿痛。香豉饮方
豉（半分） 葱白（一握切）
上二味，以水二盏半，煎至一盏，去滓温服，至三四剂。
治乳石发动，烦热胀满，身体生疮。甘草汤方
甘草（炙锉） 麻黄（去根节各一两）
上二味，以水二盏，酒半盏，煎取一盏半，先以火遍炙背令热，欲汗出，即热服之。以
衣覆卧，须臾大汗出，即瘥。
治乳石发动生疮，热气冲胸。葱白汤方
葱白（三茎切） 栀子仁（十四枚擘碎） 豉（二合）
上三味，以水三盏，煎至二盏，去滓分作三服，早晨午时至晚服之。
治服乳石患疮肿。方
上无问大小，或如粟米，则加意疗之。或井水淋，或盐汤洗，或以指 破，即以指甲细
掐旁边，又以唾数涂之。或以苍耳汤浸洗之，或以冷石恣意熨之，以瘥为度。
治乳石发动，脚指生疮者，为履袜太温。方
上当以脚践冷地，以冷水洗之，即瘥。
论述说：服用石药的方法，感到饥饿时就进食，坐卧起居和穿着衣物都要遵循这一规律，这样房事等活动就有节制，石药的燥热之势就不会发作；倘若起居生活失去节制，那么热气就会壅滞，气血涩结，这就是身体生疮的原因。况且鞋袜极其微小，只要稍微过热，脚趾就会生疮，何况全身被衣物严密包裹，很少有不患病的。
治疗因服用乳石导致发热、全身生出细碎疮疡，并且热势不止的方剂：黄连汤方
黄连（去除须根） 芒硝（各三两）
以上两味药，用水七盏，先煎煮黄连至四盏，滤去药渣，加入芒硝末搅匀，待温度适宜后，用手巾蘸取药液，敷拓在疮口上。
治疗因服用乳石导致发热、遍身生疮，兼有气力虚弱的方剂：大黄汤方
大黄（切碎炒制三两） 栀子仁（十四粒） 黄芩（去除黑心部分） 麦门冬（去除心部并焙干） 甘草（炙烤后切碎，各一两）
以上五味药，粗捣筛过，每次服用五钱匕，加水二盏，煎煮至一盏。滤去药渣，加入芒硝末一钱匕，再煮沸三两次，分两次温服，早晨和夜间各服一次。
治疗因服用乳石导致发热、身体轻微肿胀生疮的方剂：升麻汤方
升麻 葳蕤（各一两半） 黄芩（去除黑心部分二两） 犀角（镑片） 甘草（炙烤后切碎，各一两） 栀子仁（十枚）
以上六味药，粗捣筛过，每次服用五钱匕，加水三盏，煎煮至一盏半。滤去药渣，加入紫雪一钱匕，分两次温服，以大便通畅下行三两次为度，同时仍使用前文提到的黄连汤，涂抹在疮肿处。
治疗因服用乳石导致体内发热生疮的方剂：麦门冬汤方
麦门冬（去除心部并焙干三两） 甘草（炙烤后切碎） 桂枝（去除粗皮，各一两半） 人参（一两）
以上四味药，粗捣筛过，每次取五钱匕，加水三盏，放入葱白两根，煎煮至一盏半，滤去药渣，加入豆豉二合。再煮沸三两次，滤去药渣，分两次温服，从早晨到中午再到晚上各服一次。
治疗因服用乳石导致发作，表里俱热，身体生疮，或者发生痈疖，大小便不利的方剂：知母芒硝汤方
知母（焙干） 甘草（炙烤后切碎，各一两） 栀子仁（十四枚） 大黄（切碎炒制四两） 黄芩（去除黑心部分二两）
以上五味药，粗捣筛过，每次服用五钱匕，加水三盏，煎煮至一盏半，滤去药渣，加入芒硝末一钱匕，再煮沸三两次，分两次温服。
治疗因服用乳石导致发作，大腿内侧生疮且热痒，兼有头痛的方剂：麦门冬汤方
麦门冬（去除心部并焙干） 知母（焙干） 泽泻 甘草（炙烤后切碎，各一两） 粳米（五合）
以上五味药，粗捣筛过，每次服用五钱匕，先用水五盏，煎煮小麦二合、竹叶二十片，至三盏。滤去药渣，加入药末，重新煎煮至一盏半，滤去药渣，分两次温服，空腹时早晚各服一次。
治疗因服用乳石导致发作，身上生疮，气机郁结肿痛，方剂：香豉饮方
豆豉（半分） 葱白（一把切碎）
以上两味药，用水二盏半，煎煮至一盏，滤去药渣温服，服用三四剂。
治疗因服用乳石导致发作，烦热胀满，身体生疮，方剂：甘草汤方
甘草（炙烤后切碎） 麻黄（去除根节，各一两）
以上两味药，用水二盏，酒半盏，煎取一盏半。先用火将背部遍烤令其发热，想要出汗时，立即热服此药。用衣服覆盖躺下，片刻后大汗出，病即痊愈。
治疗因服用乳石导致发作生疮，热气上冲胸部的方剂：葱白汤方
葱白（三根切碎） 栀子仁（十四枚掰碎） 豆豉（二合）
以上三味药，用水三盏，煎煮至二盏，滤去药渣，分作三次服用，从早晨到中午再到晚上服用。
治疗因服用乳石患疮肿的方剂：
以上不分大小，如果像粟米那样小，就要用心治疗。或者用井水冲洗，或者用盐汤清洗，或者用手指刺破，随即用指甲仔细掐挤旁边，又用唾液多次涂抹。或者用苍耳汤浸泡清洗，或者用冷石头随意熨烫，以痊愈为度。
Commentary states: The method of taking mineral drugs (Shiyao) involves eating when hunger is felt, and maintaining similar routines for sitting, lying down, clothing, etc. If sexual activity and other adjustments are regulated with measure, the heat potential of the minerals will not manifest. However, if daily life and activities lose their regulation, heat will become obstructed and stagnant, causing Qi and Blood to become sluggish and knotted. This is why sores appear on the body. Moreover, shoes and socks are trivial items; if they are even slightly too warm, sores will grow on the toes. How much more so for the entire body, which is covered tightly by clothing? It is rare that one does not suffer from this.
Formula for treating fever caused by mineral drugs, with fine sores all over the body, and persistent heat: Huanglian Tang (Coptis Decoction)
Huanglian (Rhizoma Coptidis, remove roots) - 3 liang
Mangxiao (Natrii Sulfas, Mirabilite) - 3 liang
Take the above two ingredients, add 7 zhan of water, and first decoct Huanglian until reduced to 4 zhan. Remove the dregs, add Mangxiao powder, stir evenly, let it cool to a warm temperature, dip a hand towel in the medicine, and apply/pat it onto the sores.
Formula for treating fever caused by mineral drugs, with sores all over the body, accompanied by weakness of Qi and strength: Dahuang Tang (Rhubarb Decoction)
Dahuang (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei, chopped and fried) - 3 liang
Zhizi Ren (Semen Gardeniae, fourteen grains)
Huangqin (Radix Scutellariae, remove black heart)
Maimendong (Radix Ophiopogonis, remove heart and baked)
Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae, roasted and chopped) - 1 liang each
Coarsely crush and sieve the above five ingredients. Take 5 qianbi per dose, add 2 zhan of water, and decoct until reduced to 1 zhan. Remove the dregs, add 1 qianbi of Mangxiao powder, boil for three or two boils more, divide into two warm doses, taking one dose in the morning and one before bed at night.
Formula for treating fever caused by mineral drugs, with slight swelling and sores on the body: Shengma Tang (Cimicifugae Decoction)
Shengma (Rhizoma Cimicifugae)
Weirui (Rhizoma Polygonati Odorati) - 1.5 liang each
Huangqin (Radix Scutellariae, remove black heart) - 2 liang
Xijiao (Cornu Rhinocerotis, shaved) [Note: Modern substitutes often used]
Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae, roasted and chopped) - 1 liang each
Zhizi Ren (Semen Gardeniae) - 10 pieces
Coarsely crush and sieve the above six ingredients. Take 5 qianbi per dose, add 3 zhan of water, and decoct until reduced to 1.5 zhan. Remove the dregs, add 1 qianbi of Zixue (Purple Snow), divide into two warm doses. The goal is to have loose stools three to two times. Continue to use the aforementioned Huanglian Tang to apply to the swollen sores.
Formula for treating internal heat and sores caused by mineral drugs: Maimendong Tang (Ophiopogonis Decoction)
Maimendong (Radix Ophiopogonis, remove heart and baked) - 3 liang
Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae, roasted and chopped)
Gui (Ramulus Cinnamomi, remove rough bark) - 1.5 liang each
Renshen (Radix Ginseng) - 1 liang
Coarsely crush and sieve the above four ingredients. Take 5 qianbi per dose, add 3 zhan of water, put in 2 stems of Congbai (Scallion White), and decoct until reduced to 1.5 zhan. Remove the dregs, add 2 he of Chidou (Fermented Soybean). Boil for three or two boils more, remove dregs, divide into two warm doses. Take one dose from morning to noon, and another from noon to evening.
Formula for treating attacks from mineral drugs where both exterior and interior are hot, sores on the body, or development of abscesses/furuncles, and difficulty in urination and defecation: Zhimu Mangxiao Tang (Anemarrhenae and Mirabilite Decoction)
Zhimu (Rhizoma Anemarrhenae, baked)
Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae, roasted and chopped) - 1 liang each
Zhizi Ren (Semen Gardeniae) - 14 pieces
Dahuang (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei, chopped and fried) - 4 liang
Huangqin (Radix Scutellariae, remove black heart) - 2 liang
Coarsely crush and sieve the above five ingredients. Take 5 qianbi per dose, add 3 zhan of water, and decoct until reduced to 1.5 zhan. Remove the dregs, add 1 qianbi of Mangxiao powder, boil for three or two boils more, divide into two warm doses.
Formula for treating attacks from mineral drugs, with sores, heat, and itching on the inner thighs, accompanied by headache: Maimendong Tang (Ophiopogonis Decoction)

Coarsely crush and sieve the above five ingredients. Take 5 qianbi per dose. First, add 5 zhan of water, decoct 2 he of Xiaomai (Wheat Grain) and 20 leaves of Zhuye (Bambusae Folium) until reduced to 3 zhan. Remove the dregs, add the powdered herbs, re-decoct until reduced to 1.5 zhan, remove dregs, divide into two warm doses. Take one dose on an empty stomach in the morning and one in the evening.
Formula for treating attacks from mineral drugs, with sores on the body, Qi stagnation, and painful swelling: Xiangchi Yin (Fermented Soybean Drink)
Chi (Faba Fermentata, Prepared Soybean) - 0.5 fen
Congbai (Scallion White, a handful, chopped)
Add 2.5 zhan of water to the above two ingredients, decoct until reduced to 1 zhan, remove dregs, take warm. Take 3-4 doses.
Formula for treating attacks from mineral drugs, with irritability, heat, distension, fullness, and sores on the body: Gancao Tang (Licorice Decoction)
Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae, roasted and chopped)
Mahuang (Herba Ephedrae, remove root and joints) - 1 liang each
Add 2 zhan of water and half a zhan of wine to the above two ingredients, decoct to obtain 1.5 zhan. First, roast the back thoroughly with fire until hot. When sweating is desired, take the medicine while hot. Cover with clothes and lie down. After a moment, profuse sweating occurs, and the disease heals.
Formula for treating attacks from mineral drugs causing sores, with hot Qi rushing to the chest: Congbai Tang (Scallion White Decoction)

Zhizi Ren (Semen Gardeniae, fourteen pieces, broken)
Chi (Faba Fermentata, Prepared Soybean) - 2 he
Add 3 zhan of water to the above three ingredients, decoct until reduced to 2 zhan, remove dregs, divide into three doses. Take from morning to noon to evening.
Formula for treating sores and swelling caused by taking mineral drugs:
Regardless of size, if they are as small as millet grains, treat them carefully. You may wash with well water, or wash with salt water, or break them open with fingers, then carefully pinch the surrounding area with fingernails. Apply saliva several times. Alternatively, soak and wash with Cang'er Tang (Xanthii Decoction), or freely iron with cold stones. Continue until healed.
Formula for treating sores on the toes caused by attacks from mineral drugs, due to shoes and socks being too warm:
One should walk on cold ground with bare feet and wash with cold water. The disease will heal.
