It is stated in the discussion: The *Neijing* (Inner Canon) mentions that "internal depletion and jue lead to yin pai," which indicates Kidney deficiency. The manifestations of yin pai are a stiff tongue unable to speak and flaccid legs unable to function. This is because the Kidney meridian runs alongside the root of the tongue; when Kidney Qi is internally depleted and Qi rebellion prevents it from reaching the root of the tongue, speech becomes impossible, resulting in yin. The Kidney meridian follows the inner thigh, connects to the ankle, and enters the sole of the foot; when Kidney Qi is obstructed, the legs become flaccid, resulting in pai.
