Discourse states: Qi relies on blood for its circulation, and blood relies on Qi for its movement; the two cannot be separated even for an instant. When the weather is mild and the sun is warm, Qi and Blood flow smoothly and abundantly; when the weather is cold and the sun is obscured, Qi and Blood become stagnant and sluggish. If Wind-Cold pathogens invade the Blood Mansion (referring to the vessels), various diseases arise. Since Wind is agile in its movement and prone to frequent changes, it may manifest as alternating chills and fever, pain, muscle spasms, or hemiplegia. The symptoms vary, and treatment should be tailored to the specific syndrome.
Discourse states: "Blood-Wind Consumptive Qi" refers to irregular menstruation, or contraction of Wind pathogens due to improper care after childbirth. If left untreated for a long time, it transforms into alternating chills and fever with regular paroxysms, reduced appetite, emaciation, and sallow skin. Just before menstruation, one experiences dizziness and vertigo, stiffness and tension in the chest and back, soreness and pain in the four limbs, internal heat, edema of the feet, and facial puffiness; or amenorrhea occurs. Hence, it is termed "Blood-Wind Consumptive Qi."
