Another prescription:
Poria Cocos (Bai Fuling) (remove black skin, chop into pieces, soak in water for 49 days, changing water every 7 days. After the period, steam for one Shichen (2 hours), then place in water within a sieve, manually remove veins until clean, clarify, and sun-dry); Cupressi Cacumen (Bai Ye) (select tender branches harvested according to the four seasons, steam until yellow; do not harvest from roadsides or graves); Cannabis Fructus (Dama Zi) (soak in water overnight, sun-dry, stir-fry until just making a sound, remove, and grind between two clean bricks to extract kernels); Plantaginis Semen (Cheqian Zi); Oryza Sativa Germ (Jing Mi) (stir-fried); Sojae Semen Praeparatum (Dadou Huang) (stir-fry until scorched, take the yellow husk); Viticis Fructus (Man Jing Zi) (boil in water for one Shichen, sun-dry); Lycii Cortex (Digupi) (remove coarse bark, 1 Sheng each); Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen); Kochiae Cortex ( Difupi) (steam for half a cooking duration, sun-dry, 2 Sheng each); Panicum Miliaceum (Shumi) (stir-fried); Ophiopogonis Tuber (Maidong) (remove heart, bake); Poria Cum Ramo Xylom (Fushen) (remove wood core, 0.5 Sheng each).
Of the thirteen ingredients above, ten are pounded and sifted into powder. Maidong and Dama Zi kernels are thoroughly pounded when cooked until extremely fine, then mixed evenly with the other medicines. Use 60 Liang of refined honey, filter through silk into a clean vessel, keep warm, mix and knead with the powders, then pound ten thousand times. Form pills the size of small sour jujubes. Store in a clean vessel; the medicine will never spoil. If intending to take it the next morning, drink one cup of Shumi porridge the night before. Take fifty pills at dawn the next day, with warm Qing wine or porridge broth. Take twice daily; hunger will cease. If abdominal discomfort persists within three days, continue taking it. After three days, limbs will become light and agile, ears and eyes clear. For those with exhaustion/injury, strength will increase, doubling after one year. Long-term use treats wind-stroke and various Qi disorders, tonifies essence and marrow, calms the soul, harmonizes Ying and Wei (Nutritive and Defensive levels), eliminates corpse-worms, clarifies the mind, and provides resistance to cold and heat. Preparation is best on the 5th day of the 5th lunar month, 7th day of the 7th lunar month, or during the Winter La festival. Quantities must use large Sheng and Jin measures without shortage. If food is needed, administer with Kuaizi Decoction. Among grain-avoidance prescriptions, this is the most excellent.
Another prescription:
Poria Cocos (Bai Fuling) (refined into powder); Cupressi Cacumen (Bai Ye) (steamed, dried, powdered); Plantaginis Semen (Cheqian Zi) (washed clean, dried); Lycii Cortex (Digupi); Sojae Semen (Dadou) (stir-fried, take yellow); Viticis Fructus (Man Jing Zi) (boiled until bitter taste disappears, sun-dried, 5 Liang each).
The six ingredients above are pounded and sifted into powder, mixed with refined honey, and pounded three to two thousand times. Form pills the size of Sophora seeds. To take, eat Shumi porridge until full the night before. Take two hundred pills the next day with wine or Jinghua Water (first drawn well water in the morning). Within three days, appetite will vanish, and fatigue will not occur. After three days, hunger ceases; if hungry, take thirty to fifty more pills to supplement. If feeling slightly fatigued, every three to five days, consume about one cup of Bangdao made from a small amount of Jing Mi flour, without salt or vinegar. If weak and exhausted, take two spoons of Man Jing Zi powder daily, mixed with refined white honey. Avoid sexual intercourse.
Another prescription:
Poria Cocos (Bai Fuling) (refined into powder); Natrii Sulfas (Yunmu - note: Yunmu usually refers to Mica, here likely referring to processed mineral or specific variant, context implies processing) (refined into powder); Asparagi Tuber (Tianmendong) powder (2 Jin each); Adip Suillum (Yangzhi); Mel Album (Baisha Mi); Cera Flava (Baila) (5 Jin each); Oleum Cannabis (Mazi You) (3 Jin); Resina Pini (Songzhi) (refined, 10 Jin).
The eight ingredients are placed in a silver vessel and gently heated until uniform and purple in color, then stop. For those practicing grain avoidance, first eat rice for five days, then eat sparingly. After three days, take this medicine, size of a small bullet, three pills daily, nine pills over three days. Hunger will cease; take more if hungry, accompanied by dried jujube slices. Drinking water causes no distress and should be moderate. To expel the medicine, take Natrii Sulfas (Xiaoshi) and Abutilonis Semen (Kuaizi) (5 Liang each), pounded into powder. Take 2 Qianbi per dose, decoct with one cup of water until reduced to 8 fen, strain, and take three times daily. After the medicine passes, eat one He of rice porridge, gradually transitioning to bland food over three days.
Another prescription:
Poria Cocos (Bai Fuling) (5 Jin, chopped, steamed in a steamer basket for one cooking duration, sun-dried, powdered); Mel Album (Baisha Mi) (3 Jin); Resina Cupressi (Bozhi) (7 Jin, prepare a kiln in a quiet place, use a large cauldron with a steamer on top. Line the steamer with trimmed white cogon grass, place Bozhi on top, steam with alkali water (Duanshi Shui) in the cauldron until melted. Remove steamer, collect fat from cauldron, pour into cold water, cool with a fan, pull back and forth by two people thirty times. Steam again as before for three cycles, changing alkali water each cycle. Repeat with vinegar slurry water for three cycles, then good wine for three cycles).
The three ingredients above are mixed with refined Mel Album and formed into pills the size of Sophora seeds. Take ten pills with wine; in winter, use warm wine. Those who are hungry may take frequently until hunger subsides. If wine is unavailable, use warm water. For those seeking immortality, often take five Apricot Kernels (Xingren), remove skin and tips, grind finely, decoct with one small cup of water for three to five boils, strain, and use to swallow the pills. To stop medication and resume eating grains, take Natrii Sulfas (Xiaoshi) and Abutilonis Semen (Kuaizi) (1 Liang each), finely ground into powder. Take a size equivalent to a chicken egg, five to six times daily, with Jiangshui (fermented rice liquid) or wine. Long-term use naturally doubles strength. Another variation excludes Zexie, using equal parts Di Huang and other herbs, bound with honey into pills, taken with wine as above.
Another prescription:
Poria Cocos (Bai Fuling) (remove black skin); Asparagi Tuber (Tianmendong) (remove heart, baked, 1 Jin each); Jujubae Pulspa (Zao Rou) (30 fruits); Cannabis Fructus (Mazi Ren) (5 Jin).
