上取郁李根一握切，水一盏，煎至六分，去滓热含之，吐出虫长六分黑头虫出，即瘥。
治牙齿风龋，疼痛作臭，血出脓。雄黄煎方
雄黄（研） 葶苈（纸上炒为末各一钱） 麝香（研半钱） 芦荟（研半分）
上四味，先以腊月猪脂三两，煎化去滓，次下葶苈末，煎少顷，次下三味研药，搅勿住
手，候凝成煎，瓷合盛，先刮齿令净，针出恶血，以绵拭干，涂煎，仍用铁篦子熨烙，日三
两度，次用后方。

上五味，捣罗为散，量患处贴之。
治牙齿风龋疼痛。松脂汤方
松脂（二两） 皂荚（炙去皮子一挺） 盐（一分）
上三味，粗捣筛，每服五钱匕，水二盏，煎五七沸去滓，热滓冷吐。
治牙齿风龋疼痛。乌头汤方
乌头（炮制去皮脐） 独活（去芦头） 郁李仁（汤去皮各半两）
上三味，锉如麻豆，每用五钱匕，好酒一升，绵裹药，于酒中浸一宿，煎十余沸，热漱
冷吐。
治牙齿风龋疼痛。乌头丸方
乌头（炮制去皮脐半两） 五灵脂（一两）
上二味，捣罗为末，以醋一升，煮大枣二十枚，醋尽为度，取枣肉和药，丸如绿豆大，
用绵裹一丸，于痛处咬，勿咽津。
治牙齿风龋肿痛，脓汁不止。细辛汤方
细辛（去苗叶） 附子（去皮脐生用各半两） 芎 （一两）
上三味，锉如麻豆，每服五钱匕，水二盏，煎十余沸，去滓热漱冷吐。
治牙齿风龋。吴茱萸丸方
吴茱萸（汤洗焙干炒） 夜明砂（炒各一分）
上二味，捣罗为末，以蟾酥和丸，如麻子大，绵裹一丸，于痛处咬，勿咽津，以瘥为度
治牙齿风龋，隐痛动摇，齿龈宣露。柳枝汤方
柳枝（一握锉） 地骨皮（一两） 细辛（一两） 防风（一两去芦头） 杏仁（一两
汤浸去皮

上八味，都细锉如麻豆，和匀，每用一两，水一大盏半，同煎至一盏，去滓热含，就
于患处良久，倦即吐之，含尽为度，日二，尽此一剂永瘥，更不再发。
论述说，龋齿的病，是由于风热邪气，侵袭手足阳明二经，症状表现为牙龈肿胀，或者流脓且气味臭秽，时间久了则侵蚀牙齿，导致牙根暴露，又名风龋。
治疗龋齿牙龈肿胀，流脓疼痛的独活丸方：
独活（去除芦头） 防风（去除叉枝） 黄芩（去除黑心部分） 零陵香 川芎 细辛（去除苗叶） 当归（切片焙干，各半两） 沉香（锉碎） 鸡舌香 升麻 甘草（炙后锉碎，各一两）
以上十一味药，捣碎过筛成末，熔化蜡调和制成丸剂，大小如小豆，用棉布包裹一粒，在疼痛处含化咽下津液，药力消尽后再换新的。
治疗龋齿疼痛的虾蟆散方：
干蟾蜍（一枚烧成灰） 麝香（研细，半钱） 柑皮 细辛（去除苗叶，各半两） 白鸡屎（烧成灰） 青黛（研细） 干姜（炮制） 雄黄（研细，各一分）
以上八味药，捣碎过筛成散剂，用棉布包裹如黍米大小，塞入虫孔中，如果没有虫孔，就贴敷在患处一字形位置，有唾液分泌就要吐掉。
治疗牙齿风龋疼痛，虫蚀蛀出洞的矾石汤方：
白矾（烧成灰） 藜芦（去除芦头） 干姜（炮制） 白术 蜀椒（去除目及闭口者，炒至出汗） 附子（去皮脐，生用） 甘草（炙后锉碎，各半两） 防风（去除叉枝） 细辛（去除苗叶，各三分） 蛇床子（一分）
以上十味药，捣成粗末，每次取三钱匕，加清酒一升，煎煮三五沸，趁热漱口，冷却后吐出，每天二到三次。
治疗牙齿风龋疼痛的蜀椒汤方：
蜀椒（去除目及闭口者，炒至出汗） 川芎 细辛（去除苗叶） 升麻 莽草 防风（去除叉枝） 黄芩（去除黑心，各一分）
以上七味药，粗捣过筛，每次取五钱匕，加水二盏，煎煮三五沸，去渣，趁热漱口，冷却后吐出。
治疗牙齿风龋，牙根暴露疼痛及疳毒的藜芦散方：
藜芦（去除芦头） 莽草（各半两） 细辛（去除苗叶） 垣衣 盐（各一两） 棘刺（四十九枚带钩的）
以上六味药捣成末，用水调成糊状，用荞麦面四两，和成药饼，包裹住药，烧至通红，在醋中蘸过后焙干，再捣碎过筛成散剂，用柳条杖咬软头部，将散剂置于齿间，很久后用温水漱口，早晨和睡前使用。
治疗龋齿痛，以及虫蚀蛀洞的白附子散方：
白附子（炮制） 知母（焙干） 细辛（去除苗叶） 高良姜（各一分） 川芎（三分）
以上五味药，捣碎过筛成散剂，每次取半钱匕，根据患处大小贴敷，有唾液分泌就要吐掉，每天三到五次。
治疗牙齿风龋疼痛的麝香散方：
麝香（研细） 砂（研细，各半钱） 细辛（去除苗叶） 青黛（研细） 升麻（各一分）
以上五味药，捣研成散剂，先用针拨开风虫所在之处，将药点入虫孔中，药力运行疼痛即止。
治疗龋齿牙龈肿胀，流出脓汁的白矾散方：
白矾（一分烧成灰） 蟾酥（半分） 麝香（半分） 雄黄（半分） 干蟾蜍（一枚烧成灰） 熊蟾（一分）
以上六味药，捣碎过筛成细末，每次取半钱，敷在牙根上。
治疗牙齿风龋疼痛的白附子散方：
白附子（一分生用） 莽草（一分） 细辛（一分） 川芎（一分） 高良姜（一分锉碎）
以上五味药，捣碎过筛成散剂，用棉布包裹少许，放在龋齿上，有液体流出不要咽下。
治疗牙齿风龋疼痛，解除骨槽毒气的牛膝散方：
牛膝（一两烧成灰）
以上一味药，捣碎过筛成末，取少许放在齿间含服。
又一方：
取郁李根一把切碎，加水一盏，煎至六分，去渣，趁热含漱，吐出长六分的黑头虫，病就好了。
治疗牙齿风龋，疼痛发臭，出血流脓的雄黄煎方：
雄黄（研细） 葶苈（在纸上炒成末，各一钱） 麝香（研细，半钱） 芦荟（研细，半分）
以上四味药，先用腊月猪脂三两，煎化去渣，然后加入葶苈末，煎片刻，再加入其余三种研好的药，不停搅拌，等待凝结成煎膏，用瓷盒盛装。先刮净牙齿，针刺放出恶血，用棉布拭干，涂擦煎膏，仍用铁篦子熨烙，每天两到三次，之后再用后方。
川芎 升麻 本（去除苗土，各半两） 独活（去除芦头） 细辛（去除苗叶，各一分）
以上五味药，捣碎过筛成散剂，根据患处大小贴敷。
治疗牙齿风龋疼痛的松脂汤方：
松脂（二两） 皂荚（炙后去皮子一根） 盐（一分）
以上三味药，粗捣过筛，每次服用五钱匕，加水二盏，煎煮五七沸去渣，趁热含漱，冷却后吐出。
治疗牙齿风龋疼痛的乌头汤方：
乌头（炮制去皮脐） 独活（去除芦头） 郁李仁（汤浸去皮，各半两）
以上三味药，锉碎如麻豆大小，每次取五钱匕，用好酒一升，用棉布包裹药物，在酒中浸泡一夜，煎煮十余沸，趁热漱口，冷却后吐出。
治疗牙齿风龋疼痛的乌头丸方：
乌头（炮制去皮脐，半两） 五灵脂（一两）
以上二味药，捣碎过筛成末，用醋一升，煮大枣二十枚，醋尽为止，取枣肉和药，制成如绿豆大的丸剂，用棉布包裹一丸，在疼痛处咬嚼，不要咽下津液。
治疗龋齿牙龈肿胀，脓汁不止的细辛汤方：
细辛（去除苗叶） 附子（去皮脐生用，各半两） 川芎（一两）
以上三味药，锉碎如麻豆大小，每次服用五钱匕，加水二盏，煎煮十余沸，去渣，趁热漱口，冷却后吐出。
治疗牙齿风龋的吴茱萸丸方：
吴茱萸（汤洗焙干炒） 夜明砂（炒，各一分）
以上二味药，捣碎过筛成末，用蟾酥和药制成如麻子大的丸剂，用棉布包裹一丸，在疼痛处咬嚼，不要咽下津液，以病愈为度。
治疗牙齿风龋，隐痛动摇，牙根暴露的柳枝汤方：
柳枝（一把锉碎） 地骨皮（一两） 细辛（一两） 防风（一两去除芦头） 杏仁（一两汤浸去皮尖去双仁） 盐（半两） 蔓荆子（一两） 生地黄（一两锉碎）
以上八味药，都细锉如麻豆大小，混合均匀，每次取一两，加大盏半水，同煎至一盏，去渣，趁热含漱，就在患处停留很久，疲倦了就吐掉，含尽为一剂，每天两次，用完这一剂永远痊愈，不再复发。
Commentary states that the disease of dental caries (dental caries) is caused by wind-heat pathogenic factors invading the Hand and Foot Yangming meridians. The manifestations include swollen gums, or pus discharge with foul odor. If prolonged, it erodes the teeth, leading to exposed tooth roots, also known as wind caries (wind caries).
Duhuo Wan Formula for treating dental caries with gum swelling and painful pus discharge:
Radix Angelicae Pubescentis (Duhuo, 独活) [remove rhizome], Radix Saposhnikoviae (Fangfeng, 防风) [remove branched tips], Radix Scutellariae (Huangqin, 黄芩) [remove blackened heart], Herba Linglingxiang (Linglingxiang, 零陵香), Rhizoma Chuanxiong (Chuanxiong, 川芎), Radix Asari (Xixin, 细辛) [remove seedlings and leaves], Radix Angelicae Sinensis (Danggui, 当归) [slice and bake, each half liang], Lignum Agarwood (Chenxiang, 沉香) [chopped], Flos Caryophylli (Jitixiang, 鸡舌香), Radix Cimicifugae (Shengma, 升麻), Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata (Zhi Gancao, 炙甘草) [roasted and chopped, each one liang].
The above eleven ingredients are pounded into powder, mixed with melted beeswax to form pills the size of small beans. Wrap one pill in cotton, hold it at the painful site to dissolve and swallow saliva. Replace when the effect dissipates.
Xiaha San Powder for treating dental caries pain:
Dry Bufo bufo gargarizans (Gan Xiamahu, 干虾蟆) [one piece, burnt to ash], Moschus (Shexiang, 麝香) [ground, half qian], Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae (Ganpi, 柑皮), Radix Asari (Xixin, 细辛) [remove seedlings and leaves, each half liang], Excrementum Galli Album (Bai Jishi, 白鸡屎) [burnt to ash], Folium Isatidis (Qingdai, 青黛) [ground], Rhizoma Zingiberis Preparatum (Ganjiang, 干姜) [processed], Realgar (Xionghuang, 雄黄) [ground, each one fen].
The above eight ingredients are pounded and sieved into powder. Wrap a portion the size of millet seeds in cotton and insert it into the carious cavity. If no cavity exists, apply in a linear shape to the affected area. Spit out any saliva produced.
Fanshi Tang Decoction for treating wind caries pain and worm erosion exposing cavities:
Alumen (Baifan, 白矾) [burnt to ash], Radix Veratri (Lilu, 藜芦) [remove rhizome], Rhizoma Zingiberis Preparatum (Ganjiang, 干姜), Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae (Baizhu, 白术), Fructus Zanthoxyli (Shujiao, 蜀椒) [remove eyes and closed ones, stir-fry until sweat appears], Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata (Fuzi, 附子) [remove skin and umbilicus, use raw], Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata (Zhi Gancao, 炙甘草) [roasted and chopped, each half liang], Radix Saposhnikoviae (Fangfeng, 防风) [remove branched tips], Radix Asari (Xixin, 细辛) [remove seedlings and leaves, each three fen], Semen Cnidii (Shechuangzi, 蛇床子) [one fen].
The above ten ingredients are pounded into coarse powder. Each time use three qian bi, add one sheng of clear wine, boil for three to five boils. Rinse mouth while hot, spit out when cool. Two to three times daily.
Shujiao Tang Decoction for treating wind caries pain:
Fructus Zanthoxyli (Shujiao, 蜀椒) [remove eyes and closed ones, stir-fry until sweat appears], Rhizoma Chuanxiong (Chuanxiong, 川芎), Radix Asari (Xixin, 细辛) [remove seedlings and leaves], Radix Cimicifugae (Shengma, 升麻), Herba Siegesbeckiae (Mangcao, 莽草), Radix Saposhnikoviae (Fangfeng, 防风) [remove branched tips], Radix Scutellariae (Huangqin, 黄芩) [remove blackened heart, each one fen].
The above seven ingredients are coarsely pounded and sieved. Each time use five qian bi, add two zhan of water, boil for three to five boils. Strain, rinse mouth while hot, spit out when cool.
Lilu San Powder for treating wind caries, exposed roots, pain, and gan toxicity:
Radix Veratri (Lilu, 藜芦) [remove rhizome], Herba Siegesbeckiae (Mangcao, 莽草) [each half liang], Radix Asari (Xixin, 细辛) [remove seedlings and leaves], Vestimentorum Muralium Residuum (Yuanyi, 垣衣), Sal (Yan, 盐) [each one liang], Spina Rhamni (Jici, 棘刺) [forty-nine pieces with hooks].
The above six ingredients are pounded into powder. Mix with water to form a paste. Use four liang of buckwheat flour to make cakes, wrap the medicine in them, burn until thoroughly red, dip in vinegar, dry-roast, then pound and sieve into powder. Soften the tip of a willow stick by biting, place the powder between teeth, wait a long time, then rinse with warm water. Use in the morning and before bed.
Baifuzi San Powder for treating caries pain and worm erosion:
Rhizoma Typhonii (Baifuzi, 白附子) [processed], Radix Anemarrhenae (Zhimu, 知母) [baked], Radix Asari (Xixin, 细辛) [remove seedlings and leaves], Rhizoma Alpiniae Officinarum (Gaoliangjiang, 高良姜) [each one fen], Rhizoma Chuanxiong (Chuanxiong, 川芎) [three fen].
The above five ingredients are pounded and sieved into powder. Each time use half qian bi, apply according to the affected area. Spit out saliva. Three to five times daily.
Shexiang San Powder for treating wind caries pain:
Moschus (Shexiang, 麝香) [ground], Sand (Sha, 砂) [ground, each half qian], Radix Asari (Xixin, 细辛) [remove seedlings and leaves], Folium Isatidis (Qingdai, 青黛) [ground], Radix Cimicifugae (Shengma, 升ma) [each one fen].
The above five ingredients are pounded and ground into powder. First, use a needle to open the area affected by wind-worms, apply the medicine into the cavity. When the medicine acts, pain stops.
Baifan San Powder for treating caries gum swelling and pus discharge:
Alumen (Baifan, 白矾) [one fen, burnt to ash], Secretio Bufonis (Chansu, 蟾酥) [half fen], Moschus (Shexiang, 麝香) [half fen], Realgar (Xionghuang, 雄黄) [half fen], Dry Bufo bufo gargarizans (Gan Xiamahu, 干虾蟆) [one piece, burnt to ash], Bear Toad Secretion (Xion Chan, 熊蟾) [one fen].
The above six ingredients are pounded and sieved into fine powder. Each time use half qian, apply to the gum root.
Baifuzi San Powder for treating wind caries pain:
Rhizoma Typhonii (Baifuzi, 白附子) [one fen, used raw], Herba Siegesbeckiae (Mangcao, 莽草) [one fen], Radix Asari (Xixin, 细辛) [one fen], Rhizoma Chuanxiong (Chuanxiong, 川芎) [one fen], Rhizoma Alpiniae Officinarum (Gaoliangjiang, 高良姜) [one fen, chopped].
The above five ingredients are pounded and sieved into powder. Wrap a small amount in cotton, place on the carious tooth. Do not swallow any fluid.
Niuxi San Powder for treating wind caries pain and resolving bone槽 toxic qi:
Radix Achyranthis Bidentatae (Niuxi, 牛膝) [one liang, burnt to ash].
The above single ingredient is pounded and sieved into powder. Take a small amount, place between teeth and hold.
Another Prescription:
Take one handful of Radix Pruni Armeniacae (Yuli Gen, 郁李根), chop it, add one zhan of water, boil to six parts. Strain, hold hot in mouth. Spit out worms six fen long with black heads; the disease will heal.
Xionghuang Jian Ointment for treating wind caries, painful foul odor, bleeding and pus:
Realgar (Xionghuang, 雄黄) [ground], Semen Lepidii (Tingli, 葶苈) [stir-fried on paper into powder, each one qian], Moschus (Shexiang, 麝香) [ground, half qian], Rhizoma Aloe (Luhui, 芦荟) [ground, half fen].
The above four ingredients: First, melt three liang of pig fat from the twelfth lunar month, strain. Add Tingli powder, boil briefly. Then add the other three ground medicines, stir constantly until it congeals into an ointment. Store in a porcelain container. First scrape teeth clean, prick to release bad blood, wipe dry with cotton, apply ointment. Still use an iron comb to cauterize/iron, two to three times daily. Then use the following formula.
Rhizoma Chuanxiong (Chuanxiong, 川芎), Radix Cimicifugae (Shengma, 升麻), Radix Ligustici (Ben, 本) [remove seedlings and soil, each half liang], Radix Angelicae Pubescentis (Duhuo, 独活) [remove rhizome], Radix Asari (Xixin, 细辛) [remove seedlings and leaves, each one fen].
The above five ingredients are pounded and sieved into powder. Apply according to the affected area.
Songzhi Tang Decoction for treating wind caries pain:
Resina Pini (Songzhi, 松脂) [two liang], Fructus Gleditsiae Sinensis (Zaojia, 皂荚) [roasted, remove skin and seeds, one rod], Sal (Yan, 盐) [one fen].
The above three ingredients are coarsely pounded and sieved. Each dose five qian bi, add two zhan of water, boil five to seven boils, strain. Hold hot dregs in mouth, spit out when cool.
Wutou Tang Decoction for treating wind caries pain:
Radix Aconiti Carmichaelii Preparata (Wutou, 乌头) [processed, remove skin and umbilicus], Radix Angelicae Pubescentis (Duhuo, 独活) [remove rhizome], Semen Pruni Armeniacae (Yuliren, 郁李仁) [soaked in water, remove skin, each half liang].
The above three ingredients are chopped like hemp seeds. Each time use five qian bi, add one sheng of good wine. Wrap medicine in cotton, soak in wine overnight. Boil for more than ten boils. Rinse mouth while hot, spit out when cool.
Wutou Wan Pills for treating wind caries pain:
Radix Aconiti Carmichaelii Preparata (Wutou, 乌头) [processed, remove skin and umbilicus, half liang], Resina Trogopterori (Wulingzhi, 五灵脂) [one liang].
The above two ingredients are pounded into powder. Use one sheng of vinegar to cook twenty large dates until vinegar is exhausted. Take date flesh, mix with medicine, form pills the size of mung beans. Wrap one pill in cotton, chew at the painful site, do not swallow saliva.
Xixin Tang Decoction for treating caries gum swelling and continuous pus discharge:
Radix Asari (Xixin, 细辛) [remove seedlings and leaves], Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata (Fuzi, 附子) [remove skin and umbilicus, use raw, each half liang], Rhizoma Chuanxiong (Chuanxiong, 川芎) [one liang].
The above three ingredients are chopped like hemp seeds. Each dose five qian bi, add two zhan of water, boil for more than ten boils. Strain, rinse mouth while hot, spit out when cool.
Wuzhuyu Wan Pills for treating wind caries:
Fructus Evodiae (Wuzhuyu, 吴茱萸) [washed in water, baked dry, stir-fried], Faeces Tarsi Galli (Yeming Sha, 夜明砂) [stir-fried, each one fen].
The above two ingredients are pounded into powder. Mix with Secretio Bufonis (Chansu, 蟾酥) to form pills the size of sesame seeds. Wrap one pill in cotton, chew at the painful site, do not swallow saliva. Continue until healed.
Liuzhi Tang Decoction for treating wind caries, dull pain, mobility, and exposed roots:
Ramulus Salicis (Liuzhi, 柳枝) [one handful, chopped], Cortex Lycii (Digupi, 地骨皮) [one liang], Radix Asari (Xixin, 细辛) [one liang], Radix Saposhnikoviae (Fangfeng, 防风) [one liang, remove rhizome], Semen Pruni Armeniacae (Xingren, 杏仁) [one liang, soaked in water, remove skin and sharp end, remove double kernels], Sal (Yan, 盐) [half liang], Fructus Viticis (Manjingzi, 蔓荆子) [one liang], Radix Rehmanniae Recens (Sheng Dihuang, 生地黄) [one liang, chopped].
The above eight ingredients are finely chopped like hemp seeds, mixed evenly. Each time use one liang, add one and a half zhan of water, boil to one zhan.
