(One discussion, sixteen formulas, eight moxibustion methods)
Discussion: The Bao Nang (bladder sac/organ storing fluids and urine) is the external manifestation of the Kidney and Bladder, responsible for storing body fluids and urine. If there is heat disease in the Zang organs, the Bao Nang becomes obstructed, causing urinary retention and yellow-red urine. If there is cold disease in the Fu organs, the Bao Nang becomes slippery, causing frequent urination with white urine. If urination is particularly severe at night, it is because Yin Qi generates internally at night. Therefore, heat conditions are treated with draining methods, cold conditions with tonifying methods, and non-cold/non-heat conditions are regulated according to the meridians, so that diseases will not arise.
Whenever urine is not in the Bao Nang due to distortion or deviation of the Bao Nang and obstruction of fluid flow, take a scallion leaf, remove the tip, insert it deep into the urethra about three cun, and gently blow air into it. When the Bao Nang swells and fluid flow resumes freely, the condition is cured.
Treats Kidney heat causing Bao Nang obstruction and heat sensation, yellow-red urine, and painful urinary difficulty:
Yubai Pi (Ulmus Radix Cortex), Chi Mi (Red Honey), Kuizi (Abelmoschi Semen) (each 1 sheng); Huashi (Talcum), Tongcao (Tetrapanacis Medulla) (each 3 liang); Cheqianzi (Plantaginis Semen) (5 liang).
The above six ingredients are chopped, boiled in three dou of water to obtain seven sheng, strained, honey added, and boiled again to obtain three sheng. Divide into three doses. This formula is also applicable for difficult labor in women.
