上二味于火上炙，去火高一尺许，以酥细细涂之，数翻覆，令得所，酥尽止，以刀轻刮
去黑皮，然后破之，去子、皮、筋脉，捣筛，蜜和为丸。每日食后服一丸如熟豆，日一服讫
，取一行微利。如不利时，细细量加，以微利为度，日止一服。忌如药法。（出第一卷中）

又治气逆上冲，脉象浮而咳嗽气逆，咽喉中发出水鸡鸣声，喘息不通畅，呼吸几乎要断绝。麻黄汤方。
麻黄（八两，去节） 射干（二两） 甘草（四两，炙） 大枣（三十颗）
以上四味药，切碎，用水一斗，先煮麻黄煮沸三次，去掉水面上的浮沫，加入其余药物，煮取三升药液，分三次服用。已经使用过的人认为效果很好。忌食海藻、菘菜等。
又治咳嗽气逆上冲，胸中堵塞感导致呼吸困难，躺卧不安稳，需要拉着绳子才能坐起，咽中发出像水鸡一样的声音。投杯汤方。
款冬花（二十分） 杏仁（四十颗） 甘草（一两，炙） 大枣（二十颗） 桂心（二两）
麻黄（四两，去节） 生姜 半夏（洗，各三两） 紫菀 细辛（各一两）
以上十味药，切碎，用水八升，煮取二升药液，一次性服下。另一法分为两次服用，服药后卧床令其出汗，喝几口粥，不要吃饱，疗效神奇。忌食海藻、菘菜、羊肉、饴糖、生葱、生菜。
又治咳嗽气逆上冲，燥咳或冷咳，昼夜加重，喉中发出水鸡鸣声。钟乳丸方。
钟乳石 人参 桂心 干姜（各八分） 附子（炮制） 款冬花 细辛（各六两） 紫菀（十分）
杏仁（四分）
以上九味药，捣碎过筛，用蜂蜜调和制成丸药。每次用酒送服如小豆大小的两丸，每日三次。若无效，逐渐增加剂量。忌食猪肉、冷水、生葱、生菜等物。
又治气逆咳嗽，喉中发出水鸡鸣声，咳吐脓血且气味腥臭。麻黄汤方。
麻黄（六两，去节） 桂心（一两） 甘草（炙） 杏仁（去尖、皮，各二两） 生姜（八两，一方用干姜三两）
以上五味药，切碎，用水七升，煮取三升半药液，分五次服用。已使用此方治疗咳唾脓血、喉中腥臭者，见效后，可长期将剩余药渣制成丸剂服用。忌食海藻、菘菜、生葱。
又治久咳气逆上冲，喉中鸣响，昼夜无法安卧。贝母散方。
贝母（三两） 麻黄（去节） 干姜（各二两） 桂心 甘草（炙，各一两）
以上五味药，捣碎过筛。清晨用酒送服一方寸匕，每日两次。若无效，增加至两方寸匕，病情严重者可增至每日两次服用，酒量随饮用量多少而定。忌食海藻、菘菜、生葱等。
又治久咳气逆上冲，身体浮肿，气短腹胀，昼夜依靠墙壁无法安卧，喉中常作水鸡鸣声。白前汤方。
白前（二两） 紫菀 半夏（洗，各三两） 大戟（切，七合）
以上四味药，切碎，先用水一斗浸泡一夜，第二天早晨煮取三升药液，分三次服用。忌食羊肉、饴糖。（此方四味，《千金方》见于水肿咳上气篇，《千金方》、《古今录验》相同，均出自第十八卷）
《短剧方》治疗咳嗽气逆，喉中发出像水鸡一样的声音。贝母汤方。
贝母 甘草（炙，各二两） 麻黄（去节） 桂心（各四两） 半夏（洗） 干姜（各三两） 杏仁（七十枚）
以上七味药，切碎，用水二斗三升，先煮麻黄煮沸十次，加入药物煮取三升药液，温服七合，每日三次。忌食海藻、菘菜、生葱、羊肉、饴糖。（《古今录验》相同）
又治咳嗽且气逆上冲，咽中发出像水鸡一样的声音。射干麻黄汤方。
射干（十二枚） 麻黄（去节） 生姜（各四两） 紫菀（三两） 款冬花（三两） 细辛（三两） 五味子（半升） 半夏（八枚，洗） 大枣（七枚）
以上九味药，切碎，用东流水一斗二升，煮取三升药液，分三次服用。忌食羊肉、饴糖、生菜。（此方本为张仲景《伤寒论》中的方剂，《千金方》、《古今录验》相同，均出自第一卷）
《必效方》治疗病患喘息气急，喉中发出像水鸡一样声音的方子，不问病程长短。
肥皂荚（两挺） 优质酥油（一两）
以上两味药在火上烤炙，距离火源高一尺左右，用酥油细细涂抹，反复翻动，使其受热均匀，酥油涂尽为止，用刀轻轻刮去黑皮，然后破开，去除籽、皮、筋脉，捣碎过筛，用蜂蜜调和制成丸药。每日饭后服用如熟豆大小的一丸，每日一次，服完后取一行微通大便。如果不通利，逐渐适量增加剂量，以轻微通利为度，每日只服一次。禁忌同一般服药法则。（出自第一卷）
《古今录验》沃雪汤 治疗气逆不能平卧呼吸，喉中发出像水鸡一样的声音，气息几乎断绝的方子。
麻黄（四两，去节） 细辛（二两） 五味子（半升） 桂心 干姜（各一两） 半夏（八枚，洗去滑石粉，一方用四两）
以上六味药，切碎，用水一斗，煮取三升药液，过滤去渣，待温度适宜时，服用一升，喝完即卧，又名投杯麻黄汤，使人出汗且不得安卧，不要奇怪。也可以从五合开始，若无效稍增加剂量，每日两次。凡是煮麻黄，先煎煮两次沸腾，去掉上面的浮沫，再加入其余药物。忌食生葱、生菜、羊肉、饴糖。（《集验方》、《经心录》、《范汪方》相同）
又投杯汤 治疗久咳气逆上冲，胸中寒冷，呼吸困难且无法进食，躺卧不安稳，每次都要拉着绳子才能坐起，咽中发出像水鸡一样的声音的方子。
款冬花（四十颗） 细辛（一两） 紫菀（三两） 甘草（炙） 桂心 麻黄（去节） 干姜（各二两） 五味子（半升） 杏仁（四十枚） 半夏（半升，洗）
以上十味药，切碎，用水八升，煮取二升药液，分两次服用。服药后卧床，出汗即痊愈。忌食海藻、菘菜、生葱、生菜、羊肉、饴糖。（均出自第九卷）
*Shen Shi Fang* treats chronic rebellious Qi ascending to the chest causing fullness, with a sound in the throat resembling that of a water frog (water chicken). Tou Bei Tang (Throwing Cup Decoction) Formula.
Tritici Fructus (Xiaomai, 小麦) (1 sheng) Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang, 麻黄) (4 liang, nodes removed) Polygalae Radix (Nongpu, 浓朴/厚朴) (5 liang) Gypsum Fibrosum (Shigao, 石膏) (size of a chicken egg) Armeniacae Semen Amarum (Xingren, 杏仁) (5 he)
The above five ingredients are decocted in 1 dou of water until the wheat is cooked. Remove the wheat, add the remaining herbs, and decoct to obtain 3 sheng of liquid. Divide into three doses. For severe cough, add Schisandrae Fructus (Wuweizi, 五味子) and Pinelliae Rhizoma Preparatum (Banxia, 半夏) [washed], each 0.5 sheng; Ganjiang (Dried Ginger, 干姜) has been used for many years with excellent results.
Also treats rebellious Qi ascending, floating pulse with cough and rebellious Qi, water-frog-like sounds in the throat, panting with obstruction, and breathing nearly ceasing. Mahuang Tang (Ephedra Decoction) Formula.
Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang, 麻黄) (8 liang, nodes removed) Belamcandae Rhizoma (Shegan, 射干) (2 liang) Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, 甘草) (4 liang, honey-fried) Ziziphi Jujubae Fructus (Dazao, 大枣) (30 pieces)
The above four ingredients are cut. Decoct in 1 dou of water. First boil Ephedra for three boils, remove the foam on the surface, add the other herbs, and decoct to obtain 3 sheng of liquid. Divide into three doses. It has been found very effective by those who have used it. Avoid consuming Fucus Vesiculosus (Haizao, 海藻) and Brassica rapa var. pekinensis (Songcai, 菘菜), etc.
Also treats cough with rebellious Qi ascending, chest blockage causing difficulty in breathing, inability to lie down comfortably, needing to pull ropes to sit up, and water-frog-like sounds in the throat. Tou Bei Tang (Throwing Cup Decoction) Formula.
Adenophorae Flos (Kuandonghua, 款冬花) (20 fen) Armeniacae Semen Amarum (Xingren, 杏仁) (40 pieces) Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, 甘草) (1 liang, honey-fried) Ziziphi Jujubae Fructus (Dazao, 大枣) (20 pieces) Cinnamomi Cortex (Guixin, 桂心) (2 liang)
Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang, 麻黄) (4 liang, nodes removed) Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens (Shengjiang, 生姜) Pinelliae Rhizoma Preparatum (Banxia, 半夏) [washed, each 3 liang] Asteris Radix et Rhizoma (Ziwan, 紫菀) Asari Radix et Rhizoma (Xixin, 细辛) (each 1 liang)
The above ten ingredients are cut. Decoct in 8 sheng of water to obtain 2 sheng of liquid. Take all at once. Another method divides it into two doses. After taking the medicine, lie down to induce sweating, eat a few mouthfuls of porridge, do not overeat. The effect is miraculous. Avoid consuming Fucus vesiculosus (Haizao, 海藻), Brassica rapa var. pekinensis (Songcai, 菘菜), Ovis Aries Meat (Yangrou, 羊肉), Saccharum officinarum juice prepared (Yingtang, 饧), Allium fistulosum raw (Shengcong, 生葱), and vegetables raw (Shengcai, 生菜).
Also treats cough with rebellious Qi ascending, dry cough or cold cough, worsening day and night, with water-frog-like sounds in the throat. Zhongru Wan (Stalactite Pill) Formula.
Stalactitum (Zhongru, 钟乳) Ginseng Radix (Renshen, 人参) Cinnamomi Cortex (Guixin, 桂心) Zingiberis Rhizoma (Ganjiang, 干姜) (each 8 fen) Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (Fuzi, 附子) [processed] Adenophorae Flos (Kuandonghua, 款冬花) Asari Radix et Rhizoma (Xixin, 细辛) (each 6 liang) Asteris Radix et Rhizoma (Ziwan, 紫菀) (10 fen)
Armeniacae Semen Amarum (Xingren, 杏仁) (4 fen)
The above nine ingredients are crushed, sifted, and mixed with honey to form pills. Take two pills the size of small beans with wine, three times a day. If ineffective, gradually increase the dose. Avoid consuming pork, cold water, Allium fistulosum raw (Shengcong, 生葱), and vegetables raw (Shengcai, 生菜).
Also treats rebellious Qi and cough, water-frog-like sounds in the throat, expectoration of pus and blood with a foul smell. Mahuang Tang (Ephedra Decoction) Formula.
Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang, 麻黄) (6 liang, nodes removed) Cinnamomi Cortex (Guixin, 桂心) (1 liang) Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, 甘草) [fried] Armeniacae Semen Amarum (Xingren, 杏仁) [remove tips and skins, each 2 liang] Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens (Shengjiang, 生姜) (8 liang; one prescription uses Zingiberis Rhizoma [Ganjiang, 干姜] 3 liang)
The above five ingredients are cut. Decoct in 7 sheng of water to obtain 3.5 sheng of liquid. Divide into five doses. For those who have used this formula to treat expectoration of pus and blood and foul odor in the throat, after efficacy is achieved, the residue can be long-term taken as pills. Avoid consuming Fucus vesiculosus (Haizao, 海藻), Brassica rapa var. pekinensis (Songcai, 菘菜), and Allium fistulosum raw (Shengcong, 生葱).
Also treats chronic cough with rebellious Qi ascending, ringing in the throat, inability to lie down day or night. Beimu San (Fritillaria Powder) Formula.
Fritillariae Bulbus (Beimu, 贝母) (3 liang) Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang, 麻黄) [nodes removed] Zingiberis Rhizoma (Ganjiang, 干姜) (each 2 liang) Cinnamomi Cortex (Guixin, 桂心) Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, 甘草) [fried, each 1 liang]
The above five ingredients are crushed and sifted. Take one fangcun bi (square-inch spoonful) with wine at dawn, twice a day. If ineffective, increase to two fangcun bi. For severe cases, up to two doses per day may be taken, depending on the amount of wine consumed. Avoid consuming Fucus vesiculosus (Haizao, 海藻), Brassica rapa var. pekinensis (Songcai, 菘菜), and Allium fistulosum raw (Shengcong, 生葱).
Also treats chronic cough with rebellious Qi ascending, body edema, shortness of breath and abdominal distension, inability to lie down day or night leaning against the wall, and constant water-frog-like sounds in the throat. Baiqian Tang (Cynanchi Stauntonii Radix Decoction) Formula.
Cynanchi Stauntonii Radix (Baiqian, 白前) (2 liang) Asteris Radix et Rhizoma (Ziwan, 紫菀) Pinelliae Rhizoma Preparatum (Banxia, 半夏) [washed, each 3 liang] Euphorbiae Pekinensis Radix (Daji, 大戟) [cut, 7 he]
The above four ingredients are cut. Soak in 1 dou of water overnight. Boil the next morning to obtain 3 sheng of liquid. Divide into three doses. Avoid consuming Ovis Aries Meat (Yangrou, 羊肉) and Saccharum officinarum juice prepared (Yingtang, 饧). (These four ingredients appear in *Qian Jin Fang* under Edema, Cough, and Rebellious Qi; *Qian Jin Fang* and *Gu Jin Lu Yan* are identical, both from Volume 18.)
*Duan Ju Fang* treats cough with rebellious Qi, water-frog-like sounds in the throat. Beimu Tang (Fritillaria Decoction) Formula.
Fritillariae Bulbus (Beimu, 贝母) Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, 甘草) [fried, each 2 liang] Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang, 麻黄) [nodes removed] Cinnamomi Cortex (Guixin, 桂心) (each 4 liang) Pinelliae Rhizoma Preparatum (Banxia, 半夏) [washed] Zingiberis Rhizoma (Ganjiang, 干姜) (each 3 liang) Armeniacae Semen Amarum (Xingren, 杏仁) (70 seeds)
The above seven ingredients are cut. Decoct in 2 dou 3 sheng of water. First boil Ephedra for ten boils, add the other herbs, and decoct to obtain 3 sheng of liquid. Take 7 he warm, three times a day. Avoid consuming Fucus vesiculosus (Haizao, 海藻), Brassica rapa var. pekinensis (Songcai, 菘菜), Allium fistulosum raw (Shengcong, 生葱), Ovis Aries Meat (Yangrou, 羊肉), and Saccharum officinarum juice prepared (Yingtang, 饧). (*Gu Jin Lu Yan* is identical.)
Also treats cough with rebellious Qi ascending, water-frog-like sounds in the throat. Shegan Mahuang Tang (Belamcanda and Ephedra Decoction) Formula.
Belamcandae Rhizoma (Shegan, 射干) (12 pieces) Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang, 麻黄) [nodes removed] Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens (Shengjiang, 生姜) (each 4 liang) Asteris Radix et Rhizoma (Ziwan, 紫菀) (3 liang) Adenophorae Flos (Kuandonghua, 款冬花) (3 liang) Asari Radix et Rhizoma (Xixin, 细辛) (3 liang) Schisandrae Fructus (Wuweizi, 五味子) (0.5 sheng) Pinelliae Rhizoma Preparatum (Banxia, 半夏) (8 pieces, washed) Ziziphi Jujubae Fructus (Dazao, 大枣) (7 pieces)
The above nine ingredients are cut. Decoct in 1 dou 2 sheng of East-flowing water to obtain 3 sheng of liquid. Divide into three doses. Avoid consuming Ovis Aries Meat (Yangrou, 羊肉), Saccharum officinarum juice prepared (Yingtang, 饧), and vegetables raw (Shengcai, 生菜). (This formula originates from Zhang Zhongjing's *Shanghan Lun*; *Qian Jin Fang* and *Gu Jin Lu Yan* are identical, both from Volume 1.)
*Bi Xiao Fang* treats patients with panting and urgent Qi, water-frog-like sounds in the throat, regardless of how long the disease has lasted.
Sophorae Tonkinensis Legumen (Feizaofang, 肥皂荚) (2 pods) Good Butter (Hosu, 好酥) (1 liang)
The above two ingredients are roasted over fire, held about one chi away from the fire. Brush thinly with butter, turning repeatedly until evenly heated, stopping when the butter is exhausted. Scrape off the black skin lightly with a knife, then break open, remove seeds, skin, and veins. Crush and sift, mix with honey to form pills. Take one pill the size of a cooked bean after meals daily. After taking, aim for mild diarrhea. If no diarrhea occurs, gradually increase the dose slightly, using mild diarrhea as the limit. Take only once a day. Avoidances follow general medicinal rules. (From Volume 1.)
*Gu Jin Lu Yan* Wo Xue Tang (Snow-Melting Decoction) treats rebellious Qi preventing lying down and breathing, water-frog-like sounds in the throat, and Qi nearly ceasing.

The above six ingredients are cut. Decoct in 1 dou of water to obtain 3 sheng of liquid. Strain and remove dregs. Take 1 sheng when temperature is suitable. Drink and then lie down. Also known as Tou Bei Mahuang Tang (Throwing Cup Ephedra Decoction). It induces sweating and prevents sleep; do not be surprised. One may start with 0.5 sheng; if ineffective, increase slightly. Twice a day. When decocting Ephedra, first boil for two boils, remove foam, then add remaining herbs. Avoid consuming Allium fistulosum raw (Shengcong, 生葱), vegetables raw (Shengcai, 生菜), Ovis Aries Meat (Yangrou, 羊肉), and Saccharum officinarum juice prepared (Yingtang, 饧). (*Ji Yan Fang*, *Jing Xin Lu*, *Fan Wang Fang* are identical.)
Another Tou Bei Tang (Throwing Cup Decoction) treats chronic cough with rebellious Qi ascending, cold in the chest, difficulty in breathing and eating, inability to lie down comfortably, needing to pull ropes to sit up each time, and water-frog-like sounds in the throat.
Adenophorae Flos (Kuandonghua, 款冬花) (40 pieces) Asari Radix et Rhizoma (Xixin, 细辛) (1 liang) Asteris Radix et Rhizoma (Ziwan, 紫菀) (3 liang) Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, 甘草) [fried] Cinnamomi Cortex (Guixin, 桂心) Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang, 麻黄) [nodes removed] Zingiberis Rhizoma (Ganjiang, 干姜) (each 2 liang) Schisandrae Fructus (Wuweizi, 五味子) (0.5 sheng) Armeniacae Semen Amarum (Xingren, 杏仁) (40 seeds) Pinelliae Rhizoma Preparatum (Banxia, 半夏) (0.5 sheng, washed)
The above ten ingredients are cut. Decoct in 8 sheng of water to obtain 2 sheng of liquid. Divide into two doses. Lie down after taking; sweating indicates recovery. Avoid consuming Fucus vesiculosus (Haizao, 海藻), Brassica rapa var. pekinensis (Songcai, 菘菜), Allium fistulosum raw (Shengcong, 生葱), vegetables raw (Shengcai, 生菜), Ovis Aries Meat (Yangrou, 羊肉), and Saccharum officinarum juice prepared (Yingtang, 饧).
