The *Zhouhou Beiji Fang* (Emergency Prescriptions Kept in the Sleeve) treats sudden onset of *Qinyin Chuang* (Infiltrating Ulcer), which spreads widely with exudate, often originating from the heart region. If not treated early, it may encircle the body and prove fatal.
Apply chicken comb blood to the affected area; this is effective.
Another prescription:
Take fresh cow dung, extract the juice by squeezing, and apply it to the lesion. Alternatively, burn the dung and fumigate the area with its smoke.
Another prescription:
Grind the nest of wild swallows (*Hu Yan Ke*) into powder, mix with water, and apply to the lesion. (Content identical to *Wenzhong Beijij Fang*)
Another prescription:
Select a crucian carp (*Cyprinus carpio*) three inches long, mash it with a small amount of fermented soybeans (*Chi*), and apply the paste to the lesion. This method also treats "Saddle Ulcer." However, if the ulcer begins on the four limbs and gradually spreads to the head and face, it is difficult to treat. Alternatively, fry the carp in oil, remove the fish, and apply only the oil. (Also found in Volume 4 of *Wenzhong Beijij Fang*)
The *Jiyan Fang* (Verified Prescriptions) treats sudden attack of toxic qi on the body, presenting as swelling, redness, pain, or itching, distributed around the upper and lower body, causing severe distress and agony.
Cut raw crucian carp into pieces, mash with salt, and apply thoroughly over the ulcer. Replace when dry. This is for treating *Qinyin Chuang*. (Also found in Volume 8 of *Beijij Fang*)
The *Gujin Luyan* (Records of Antiquity and Modern Times) prescribes the *Kuhu San* (Bitter Gourd Powder) for *Qinyin Chuang*.
*Ku Hu* (Bitter Gourd Fruit, 1 liang) Snake skin (0.5 liang, burnt) Honeycomb of wild bees (*Lu Feng Fang*, 0.5 liang, processed) Soybean (0.5 sheng) Dust from roof beams (Liang Shang Chen, 1 he)

Dead frog (1 specimen, burnt to ash) Sow's trotter (1 specimen, burnt to ash) Licorice Root (*Gancao*, powdered) *Jiuyue Zhang* (Plant material, burnt to ash)
Mix equal parts of these four ingredients with honey. Apply to the ulcer twice daily. Discontinue upon cure.
Another prescription:
Dry toad collected on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month (1 specimen, burnt to ash) Native Sulfur (*Shi Liuhuang*, 1 liang, ground) Alum (*Fanshi*, 1 liang, boiled until liquid evaporates)
Grind these three ingredients into a powder. Apply to the ulcer twice daily. Discontinue upon cure. (Also used for ulcers behind the ears in children; both found in Volume 5)
The *Zhouhou Beiji Fang* treats sudden *Yueshi Chuang* in adults and children.
Toad ash collected on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, mixed with lard (*Zhugao*), applied until cured. (Identical content in *Wenzhong Beijij Fang* and *Jiyan Fang*)
Another prescription:
Collect rabbit feces on the night of the full moon, insert them into the abdomen of a toad, burn together into ash powder, and apply to the ulcer until cured. (Identical content in *Jiyan Fang* and *Cui Shi Fang*; Cui Shi specifies seven rabbit pellets)
Another prescription:
Grind *Luosuo Cao* (Milkvetch vine/Asclepias) into powder and apply for cure.
Another prescription:
Burn earthworm feces until red, grind into powder, mix with lard, and apply. (Identical content in *Wenzhong Beijij Fang*, *Qianjin Fang*, and *Gujin Luyan*)
It is further stated that this ulcer often appears above the ears and around the seven orifices, waxing and waning with the moon, hence the name *Yueshi Chuang*. Folklore attributes it to children pointing at the moon at night, but it predominantly affects children. (Identical content in *Wenzhong Beijij Fang*)
Another prescription:
Mercury (*Shuiyin*) Coptis Root (*Huanglian*, each 2 liang, powdered) Lead carbonate (*Hufen*, processed) Pine resin (*Songzhi*, each 1 liang, ground)
Mix and grind these four ingredients until the mercury dissolves. Apply to the ulcer. If the ulcer dries, mix with lard rendered in the twelfth lunar month. First wash and wipe the area with saline solution, then apply. (Found in Volume 16)
The *Jiyan Fang* treats *Yueshi Chuang*.
A piece of drum skin used in moon-saving rituals, size of a hand, soaked in vinegar (*Ku Jiu*) for one night. Apply to the ulcer. Alternatively, burn to ash and mix with fat for application. (Identical content in *Cui Shi Fang*)

Illuminate the ulcer with candlelight so that the heat reaches the lesion. It will heal. (Identical content in *Cui Shi Fang* and *Gujin Luyan*; found in Volume 9)
The *Qianjin Yi Fang* (Supplement to the Essential Prescriptions for a Thousand Gold) treats malignant flesh in *Yueshi Chuang*.
Mustard Beetle (*Banmao*, feet and wings removed, processed) Native Sulfur (*Shi Liuhuang*) *Ru* (Mountain Garlic, each 1 liang, powdered)
Grind and sieve these three ingredients. Apply to the ulcer. If dry, mix with lard and apply. Three times daily. (Found in Volume 24)
