刘尚书疗头中二十种风，发秃落摩之，即此疗顶如剥似铜盆者，若小发落不足为难方。

腊月（农历十二月）的猪油膏与羊粪灰、蒲草灰按等量混合，涂抹于头发上可使头发变黑。（《千金要方》和《千金翼方》记载相同）

《千金翼方》治疗头发变黄的方子。
用熊脂涂抹头发并梳理，将头散开趴在床底下贴近地面，约一顿饭的时间后出来，头发就会全部变黑，不超过一升熊脂即可见效。
《深师方》治疗头发花白及脱发、秃顶的茯苓术散方。
白术（一斤），茯苓，泽泻，猪苓（各四两），桂心（半斤）。
以上五味药捣碎成散剂，每次服用“一刀圭”（古代容量单位，约等于一钱匕），每日三餐后服用，三十天后头发变黑。
又治疗秃顶的方子。
芜菁子研末，用醋调和后敷在患处，每天一到两次。（《千金要方》记载相同）
又一个方子。
麻子（二升，炒焦后研末）。
以上一味药，用猪脂调和后涂抹，以长出头发为度。（《千金要方》记载相同）
又一个方子。
向东生长的枣树根（长三尺，中间空心）。
以上一味药，放在蒸笼中心蒸，用容器承接流出的两边汁液，涂抹头部可促进生发。（《千金要方》和《肘后备急方》认为桑树根效果更好）
又一个方子。
麻子（三升）。
以上一味药捣碎研末，放入淘米水中浸泡一夜，滤去渣滓用来洗头，头发便会生长。
又一个方子。
取熟透的黑桑葚（二升）。
以上一味药放入瓷瓶中，经过二十一天化为水状，用来涂抹清洗，生发效果奇妙。（《千金要方》记载相同）
又治疗头发脱落不生，促进生发的膏方。
马脂，驴脂，猪脂，熊脂，狗脂（炼制成熟后各半合），升麻，防风，荠苨（各二两），蜣螂（四个），莽草，白芷（各一两）。
以上十一味药，用油脂煎煮药物，反复升降三次，膏成后滤去药渣，收集起来涂抹。（《千金要方》和《千金翼方》记载相同）
又主治头发脱落促进生发的方子。
大黄（六分），蔓荆子（一升），白芷，防风，附子，川芎，莽草，辛夷，细辛，花椒，当归，黄芩（各一两），马脂（五合），猪脂（三升）。
以上十四味药煎煮，以白芷颜色变黄为准，先清洗后涂抹有效。
又主治头顶毛发脱落不生的方子。
取铁锈（铁衣），研细后用腊月猪脂涂抹，同时也主治眉毛脱落使其再生。（《千金要方》说需煎煮三沸）
又一个使头发长长的方子。
麻子一升炒至黑色，压榨取油涂抹头部，可使头发长长，鹰脂效果尤其好。（《千金要方》记载相同）
又一个方子。
多取乌麻花，盛放在瓷瓮中，严密盖好封口，深深埋入地下一百天，取出后涂抹头发，头发容易变长且变黑，效果奇妙。
《千金要方》治疗头发脱落不生的方子。
取羊粪灰淋出的汁液清洗头发，三天洗一次，不超过十次头发就会大量生长。（《千金翼方》记载相同）
《千金要方》治疗头发脱落的方子。
柏叶（一升），附子（二两）。
以上两味药捣碎，用猪脂调和做成三十丸，每次洗头时，取一丸放入淘米水中清洗，头发就不会脱落。剩下的药要用布包裹，存放在密封容器中，不要让它漏气。
又一个治疗头发脱落不生的方子。
取锻石（煅烧过的矿物）三升，用水拌湿，一同炒至极热，用绢袋装好，取好酒三升浸泡，密封冬天二十一天，春秋七天，取出温热的酒服用一合，常保持体内有酒气，七天后停止服药，坚持服用百日，终身不再脱发，新发会迅速生长。
又一个方子。
取桑树根白皮（一石，用水一石煮开五次），用来洗头三次，脱发即止。（均出自本书第五卷）
《必效方》治疗头部各种风邪引起的头发秃落不再生长，主治头部二十种疾病，头晕面瘫中风，用膏药按摩的方子。
干姜（三两半，去皮），细辛，附子（各二两），桂心（半两）。
以上四味药捣碎过筛，用猪膏（注意不要让其中混入水分），去掉上面的膜和红色的脉络，取二十两猪膏，将其熔化，加入药粉制成膏，捣碎研磨后，恐怕药膏干了就用它来按摩，必须让药力渗入肌肉，每天都需要按摩。如果不是在十二月制作，则使用生黑芝麻油调和效果极佳。
近期有效的韦慈氏治疗头风脱发，以及视力模糊的方子。
蔓荆实（三两，研碎），桑上寄生，桑树根白皮（各二两），韭菜根（切三合），白芷（二两），甘松香，零陵香（各一两），马脂（三合），黑芝麻油（一升），酸枣树根白皮汁（三升），松叶（切二合，选五粒一束的）。
以上十一味药，将诸药细细切碎，放入枣根汁中浸泡一夜，经常搅拌使其湿润均匀，第二天早上放入油脂中用小火煎煮，不要让火太热，三五天后等到枣汁熬干，白芷颜色变黄，膏成后滤去药渣。每天擦拭按摩鬓角头发及梳理清洗。药物浸泡过夜后，临时用宽绵包裹煎煮，膏成后滤去药渣并用绵过滤，用新的瓷瓶盛装，稠浊的部分先用掉，不能久存，特别要注意不要沾染手和泥土。
又适宜服用的防风蔓荆子丸方。
防风，黄连，干地黄（各十六分），蔓荆子（二十分），甘草皮（六分），玉竹（十分），甘草（八分，炙），茯神（十二分），大黄（八分，纹理如锦缎者）。
以上九味药捣碎过筛，蜂蜜和丸如梧桐子大小，温水送服二十丸，逐渐增加剂量，以大便通畅为度，服完后再重新配制服用，可消除眼中黑花，使眼睛明亮，以病愈为度。
刘尚书治疗头部二十种风邪引起的脱发，按摩即可，此方也治疗头顶像剥了皮似的像铜盆一样的情况，如果脱发不多则难以作为难治之方的依据。
蜀椒（三两半），莽草（二两），干姜，半夏，桂心，干姜，附子，细辛（各一两，均生用）。
以上八味药细细捣碎过筛，取生猪脂剥去筋膜，称取二十两，与前文药物一起捣碎，令油脂完全消尽融入药中。药成后，先用白米泔水将头发洗净，每晚按摩，经过四五天后，毛孔渐渐每天生出柔软细小的白色毫毛，十五日后逐渐变成黑发，到一个月四十天时，待头发长出五寸以上，可以停止，如果连续五天不停止按摩更好。用好酥油和生油调和药物也可以。
Formula for Yellowing Hair from *Zhouhou Beiji Fang*.
Mix lard (Su Zhi Gao) prepared in the twelfth lunar month with sheep dung ash and cattail ash in equal proportions. Apply to the hair to turn it black. (Same as recorded in *Qianjin Yaofang* and *Qianjin Yifang*)
Formula for Yellowing Hair from *Qianjin Yaofang*.
Soybean (Wu Sheng), Vinegar water (Er Dou).
Boil these two ingredients, obtain five Sheng of juice, and rinse the hair frequently. This will turn the hair black. (Same as recorded in *Qianjin Yifang*)
Formula for Yellowing Hair from *Qianjin Yifang*.
Apply bear fat to the hair and comb it. Spread out the hair and lie prone under the bed close to the ground. After about the time it takes to eat one meal, come out; the hair will become completely black. One Sheng of fat is sufficient for efficacy.
Fuling Shu San Formula for White Hair and Alopecia from *Shenshi Fang*.
Atractylodis Rhizoma (Bai Zhu, 白术) - one Jin; Poria (Fu Ling); Alisma Rhizoma (Ze Xie); Polyporus (Zhu Ling) - each four Liang; Cinnamomi Ramulus (Gui Xin) - half a Jin.
Pulverize the above five herbs. Take one Dao Gui per dose, taken three times daily after meals. Hair will turn black within thirty days.
Another formula for Baldness.
Cruciferous vegetable seed powder mixed with vinegar applied topically, once or twice daily. (Same as *Qianjin Yaofang*)
Another formula.
Sesame seeds (Er Sheng, fried until charred and pulverized).
Take this single herb, mix with lard, and apply. Continue until hair grows. (Same as *Qianjin Yaofang*)
Another formula.
Jujube root growing eastward (three Chi long, hollow in the center).
Steam this single herb in the center of a steamer, collect the liquid dripping from both sides in a vessel, and apply to the scalp to promote hair growth. (*Qianjin Yaofang* and *Zhouhou Beiji Fang* suggest mulberry root is better.)
Another formula.
Sesame seeds (San Sheng).
Pulverize this single herb, grind it, soak it in rice washing water overnight, remove the dregs, and use the liquid to wash the head to induce hair growth.
Another formula.
Ripe black mulberries (Er Sheng).
Place this single herb in a porcelain jar. After twenty-one days, it will liquefy. Use to apply and wash; it promotes hair growth miraculously. (Same as *Qianjin Yaofang*)
Hair Regrowth Ointment for Alopecia.
Equi Adipis (Ma Gao); Asini Adipis (Lv Gao); Suinum Adipis (Zhu Zhi); Ursi Adipis (Xiong Zhi); Canis Adipis (Gou Zhi) - each refined half He; Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Sheng Ma); Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fang Feng); Glehniae Radix (Qi Nv) - each two Liang; Scarabaeus (Qiang Lang) - four specimens; Illicii Fructus (Mang Cao); Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Bai Zhi) - each one Liang.
Decoct the eleven herbs in fat, performing three ascents and descents. Strain the residue when the ointment is ready, and store for topical application. (Same as *Qianjin Yaofang* and *Qianjin Yifang*)
Another Formula for Hair Loss and Regrowth.
Rhei Radix et Rhizoma (Da Huang) - six Fen; Viticis Fructus (Man Jing Zi) - one Sheng; Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Bai Zhi); Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fang Feng); Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (Fu Zi); Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuan Xiong); Illicii Fructus (Mang Cao); Magnoliae Flos (Xin Yi); Asari Radix et Rhizoma (Xi Xin); Zanthoxyli Fructus (Jiao); Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Dang Gui); Scutellariae Radix (Huang Qin) - each one Liang; Equi Adipis (Ma Gao) - five He; Suinum Adipis (Zhu Gao) - three Sheng.
Decoct the fourteen ingredients. The process is complete when the color of Angelicae Dahuricae Radix turns yellow. Wash first, then apply; this is effective.
Another Formula for Scalp Hair Loss.
Collect rust from iron (Tie Shang Sheng Yi), pulverize it, and mix with lard from the twelfth lunar month for application. It also treats eyebrow loss, promoting regrowth. (*Qianjin Yaofang* states to boil three times.)
Another Formula for Long Hair.
One Sheng of sesame seeds, fried until black, pressed to extract oil. Apply to the head to grow long hair; Aquila Appia Fat (Ying Zhi) is especially excellent. (Same as *Qianjin Yaofang*)
Another Formula.
Collect abundant black hemp flowers, store in a porcelain urn, seal tightly, and bury deep underground for one hundred days. Remove and apply to the hair; it makes hair grow easily and turn black, which is miraculous.
Formula for Hair Loss from *Qianjin Yaofang*.
Use the lye from sheep dung ash to wash the hair. Wash once every three days. Within ten washes, significant hair growth will occur. (Same as *Qianjin Yifang*)
Formula for Hair Loss from *Qianjin Yaofang*.
Platycladi Cacumen (Bai Ye) - one Sheng; Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (Fu Zi) - two Liang.
Pulverize these two ingredients, mix with lard to make thirty pills. When washing hair, dissolve one pill in rice washing water to wash; hair will not fall out. Store the remaining medicine wrapped in cloth in a sealed container to prevent leakage.
Another Formula for Hair Loss and Non-regrowth.
Take three Sheng of Caustic Stone (Duan Shi), moisten with water, stir-fry until extremely hot, place in a silk bag, and soak in three Sheng of good wine. Seal: twenty-one days in winter, seven days in spring/autumn. Warm and take one He of the wine. Maintain a continuous sensation of alcohol in the body. Stop after seven days. If taken for one hundred days, hair will not fall out for life, and new hair will grow rapidly.
Another Formula.
Take white bark of Mulberry Root (Sang Gen Bai Pi) - one Shi. Boil in one Shi of water for five boils. Use to wash the head three times; hair loss will stop. (Both formulas are from Volume 5 of this book)
Formula for All Wind Diseases of the Head, Hair Loss, and Twenty Types of Head Disorders from *Bixiao Fang*.
Gingerum Zingiberis Rhizoma (Gan Jiang) - three Liang and half, peeled; Asari Radix et Rhizoma (Xi Xin); Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (Fu Zi) - each two Liang; Cinnamomi Ramulus (Gui Xin) - half Liang.
Pulverize and sieve the above four herbs. Mix with pig fat (ensure no water enters). Remove the membrane and red veins from the fat. Take twenty Liang of fat, melt it, and add the powdered herbs. Grind thoroughly. To prevent drying, massage with the medicine. Ensure penetration into the flesh. Massage daily. If not compounded in the twelfth lunar month, using raw Sesame Oil (Wu Ma You) yields excellent results.
Recent Effective Formula by Wei Ci Shi for Head Wind, Hair Loss, and Dim Vision.
Viticis Fructus (Man Jing Shi) - three Liang, pulverized; Taxilli Herba (Sang Shang Ji Sheng); White Bark of Mulberry Root (Sang Gen Bai Pi) - each two Liang; Chinese Leek Root (Jiu Gen) - cut three He; Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Bai Zhi) - two Liang; Costi Radix (Gan Song Xiang); Lingzhi Fragrant Fruit (Ling Ling Xiang) - each one Liang; Equi Adipis (Ma Gao) - three He; Sesame Oil (Wu Ma You) - one Sheng; Juice of Sour Jujube Root White Bark (Gan Zao Gen Bai Pi Zhi) - three Sheng; Pine Needle (Song Ye) - cut two He (select clusters of five).
Finely chop the eleven herbs, soak in jujube root juice overnight, stirring frequently to ensure even moisture. The next morning, add to the oil and fats and simmer over low heat. Do not let the fire be too hot. After three to five days, when the jujube juice is exhausted and the Angelicae Dahuricae Radix turns yellow, strain the residue. Massage the temples and hair daily, combing and washing. For temporary use, wrap the soaked herbs in wide cotton and simmer. Filter the finished ointment through cotton. Store in a new porcelain bottle. Use the thicker sediment first; do not store for long. Keep away from hands and dirt.
Another Suitable Formula: Fangfeng Manjingzi Wan.
Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fang Feng); Coptidis Rhizoma (Huang Lian); Rehmanniae Radix Preparata (Gan Di Huang) - each sixteen Fen; Viticis Fructus (Man Jing Zi) - twenty Fen; Cortex Glycyrrhizae (Gan Pi); Polygonati Rhizoma (Wei Rui) - ten Fen; Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gan Cao) - eight Fen, roasted; Poria Cum Radice (Fu Shen) - twelve Fen; Rhei Radix et Rhizoma (Da Huang) - eight Fen, with brocade-like texture.
Pulverize and sieve the nine herbs. Mix with honey to form pills the size of tung tree seeds. Take twenty pills with water, gradually increasing the dose until bowel movements are smooth. Finish the course and prepare more if needed. Eliminates black spots in the eyes and brightens vision. Continue until recovery.
Formula by Vice Minister Liu for Twenty Types of Head Wind and Alopecia, Applied via Massage.
This formula is also for scalps that appear peeled like a copper basin. It may not be suitable for minor hair loss.
Zanthoxyli Fructus (Shu Jiao) - three Liang and half; Illicii Fructus (Mang Cao) - two Liang; Gingerum Zingiberis Rhizoma (Gan Jiang); Pinelliae Rhizoma (Ban Xia); Cinnamomi Ramulus (Gui Xin); Gingerum Zingiberis Rhizoma (Ru); Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (Fu Zi); Asari Radix et Rhizoma (Xi Xin) - each one Liang, all used raw.
Finely pulverize and sieve the eight herbs. Take fresh pig fat, remove fascia and membranes, weigh twenty Liang, and mix with the aforementioned herbs. Pound until the fat is fully absorbed. Before use, wash hair thoroughly with white rice washing water. Massage nightly. After four or five days, soft, fine, white downy hairs will gradually emerge from the pores. After fifteen days, they will gradually turn black. By forty days to one month, when hair grows over five Cun, you may stop. Continuous massage for five days is better. Using clarified butter or raw sesame oil to mix the medicine is also acceptable.
