又当归汤，疗三十年下痢，止诸痛方。

诸疗无效。唯服此方得愈也，安石榴汤，疗大疰痢及白滞，困笃欲死，肠已滑，医所不能疗

上七味捣筛，蜜和丸如梧子，空腹饮服四十五十丸，日二服，稍加至六十丸。
《千金方》治疗下痢的丸剂，主治数十年之久痢，能下气消食，使人能够进食，夏季长期服用，可预防霍乱。
黄连、黄柏、桂心、大麦（一升半）、干姜（各三两）、吴茱萸（四两）、蜀椒（出汗处理半两）、神曲（一升，炒制）、乌梅（二升半）。
以上九味药捣碎过筛，用蜂蜜调和，饭后饮服，初服梧桐子大小的十丸，每日三次，逐渐增至二十丸，也可增至三十丸。
又方治疗数十年下痢，消食下气，补益虚弱，名为乌梅肉丸。
神曲（优质的一升，炒制）、附子（炮制二两）、大麦（炒制一升）、当归（三两）、桂心（三两）、黄连、吴茱萸、乌梅肉、干姜（各四两）、蜀椒（一两，出汗处理）。
以上十味药捣碎过筛，用蜂蜜和成梧桐子大小的丸剂，饭后饮服十丸，每日三次。
又方为四续丸，主治三十年之注病性痢疾，身体消瘦枯立，面色萎黄，肠道滑脱不禁。
云实（五合）、白蜡（五两）、附子（炮制二两）、女萎（三两）、龙骨（二两）。
以上五味药捣碎过筛成末，用蜡煎化后与药末混合制成梧桐子大小的丸剂，饮服五丸，每日三次，不超过五六次服药必愈。其云实需炒至令人眩晕倒地的程度（注：此处原文可能有误或指特定炮制火候，直译为“熬令即眩倒”）。
赤石脂（二两，另研为末）、熟艾（一升）、干姜（三两）、蜀椒（三百枚，出汗处理）、乌梅（三百枚，醋浸后剥取肉）。
以上五味药，先将干姜和蜀椒捣碎过筛成末，将熟艾和乌梅肉放入一斛酒中，加饭一起蒸，待饭熟后，加入干姜、蜀椒末、赤石脂末，共同捣三千杵，用蜂蜜和成梧桐子大小的丸剂，饮服十丸，每日三次，若未痊愈，增至二十丸，并增加黄连一升、艾叶一斤。
又方治疗三十年痢疾不止。
厚朴（炙制）、干姜、阿胶（炙制，各二两）、黄连（五两）、石榴皮、艾叶（各三两）。
以上六味药切碎，用水七升，煮取二升，分两次服用。
又方治疗积久三十年之常患下痢，有神奇疗效。
赤松木皮（去除外层苍皮二斗）。
以上一味药研为散剂，用面粥调和一升服用，每日三次，即可止住，不超过服用一斗即可永愈，此为秘方，三十年之痢疾，百日服用可愈。（均出自第十五卷）
《古今录验》治疗三十年寒性下痢及霍乱，诸药不能治愈，且伴有肠道滑脱。若是蛊疰所致者适用此方。

廪丘公治疗下痢三十年之方。
茯苓、干姜、黄连（等分）。
以上三味药捣碎过筛成散剂，用蜂蜜和成梧桐子大小的丸剂，饮服，一日内逐渐增至一百丸。若痢疾剧烈者，增加炮制的龙骨和附子等分，每次服十丸，逐渐增加。以见效为度。
又方为当归汤，治疗三十年下痢，停止各种疼痛。
当归（一两）、生姜（八两）、大枣（二十枚）。
以上三味药，用水四升，煮取一升半，分作三次服用，若未痊愈，再煎服。又说：我患痢疾三十多年，各种疗法无效，只有服用此方得以痊愈。
安石榴汤，治疗严重注病性痢疾及白滞痢，病情危重欲死，肠道已滑脱，医生无法治愈之方。
干姜（二两，生姜加倍）、黄柏（一两，细切）、石榴（一枚，小的用两枚）、阿胶（二两，另研碎浸泡）。
以上四味药切碎，用水三升，煮取一升二合，去渣，加入阿胶使其溶化，一次性服下，若未痊愈再煎服。治疗老人小孩也良好，身体瘦弱者应少量多次服用，不必一次服完。片刻后再服，石榴须预先备好。（《肘后备急方》同一方，无黄柏，用黄连代替，均出自第二卷）
又方《深师方》治疗久痢。
龙骨、赤石脂、无食子（各六分）、地榆（三分）、熟艾（三月采集者佳，三分）、橡子、黄柏（各五分）。
以上七味药捣碎过筛，用蜂蜜和成梧桐子大小的丸剂，空腹饮服四五十丸，每日两次，逐渐增加至六十丸。
The Pill for Dysentery from *Qianjin Fang* treats dysentery persisting for decades, promotes the downward movement of Qi and digestion, enables appetite, and when taken long-term in summer, prevents cholera-like syndrome.
*Coptidis Rhizoma* (Huanglian), *Phellodendri Cortex* (Huangbai), *Cinnamomi Ramulus* (Guixin), *Hordei Fructus* (Damai, 1 sheng 5 liang), *Zingiberis Rhizoma* (Ganjiang, each 3 liang), *Evodiae Fructus* (Wuzhuyu, 4 liang), *Zanthoxyli Fructus* (Shujiao, half a liang, processed to release oil), *Saccharomyces* (Qu, 1 sheng, stir-fried), *Mume Fructus* (Wumei, 2 sheng 5 liang).
Pulverize these nine ingredients, mix with honey to form pills, take ten pills the size of a Chinese quince seed after meals with water, three times daily, gradually increasing to twenty pills, or up to thirty pills.
Another formula for treating decades-long dysentery, promoting digestion, moving Qi, and tonifying emaciation, named Mume Flesh Pills.
*Saccharomyces* (1 sheng of good quality, stir-fried), *Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata* (Fuzi, 2 liang, processed), *Hordei Fructus* (1 sheng, stir-fried), *Angelicae Sinensis Radix* (Danggui, 3 liang), *Cinnamomi Ramulus* (Guixin, 3 liang), *Coptidis Rhizoma* (Huanglian), *Evodiae Fructus* (Wuzhuyu), *Mume Fructus Flesh* (Wumei Rou), *Zingiberis Rhizoma* (Ganjiang, each 4 liang), *Zanthoxyli Fructus* (Shujiao, 1 liang, processed to release oil).
Pulverize these ten ingredients, mix with honey to form pills the size of a Chinese quince seed, take ten pills after meals with water, three times daily.
The Four-Continuation Pill treats chronic infectious dysentery persisting for thirty years, characterized by extreme emaciation, sallow complexion, and intestinal incontinence.
*Caesalpinia Crusta* (Yunshi, 5 he), White Beeswax (Wax, 5 liang), *Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata* (Fuzi, 2 liang), *Anemarrhenae Rhizoma* (Nüwei, 3 liang), *Draco Sanguis* (Longgu, 2 liang).
Pulverize these five ingredients into powder, melt the beeswax and mix with the powder to form pills the size of a Chinese quince seed, take five pills with water, three times daily. Recovery is expected within five to six doses. The Yunshi must be roasted until it causes dizziness (note: specific processing instruction).
*Halloysitum Rubrum* (Chishizhi, 2 liang, separately pulverized), *Artemisia Argyi Folium* (Shuai Ai, 1 sheng), *Zingiberis Rhizoma* (Ganjiang, 3 liang), *Zanthoxyli Fructus* (Shujiao, 300 pieces, processed to release oil), *Mume Fructus* (Wumei, 300 pieces, soaked in vinegar, flesh extracted).
First, pulverize Ganjiang and Shujiao. Place Shuai Ai and Wumei flesh in one hu of wine with rice, steam until rice is cooked. Add the powders of Ganjiang, Shujiao, and Chishizhi. Pounded together for three thousand strokes, mixed with honey to form pills the size of a Chinese quince seed. Take ten pills with water, three times daily. If not cured, increase to twenty pills, and add *Coptidis Rhizoma* (Huanglian, 1 sheng) and *Artemisia Argyi Folium* (Ai Ye, 1 jin).
Another formula for intractable dysentery persisting for thirty years.
*Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex* (Houpo, processed by heat), *Zingiberis Rhizoma* (Ganjiang), *Colla Corii Asini* (Ejiao, processed by heat, each 2 liang), *Coptidis Rhizoma* (Huanglian, 5 liang), *Granati Pericarpium* (Shiliupi), *Artemisiae Argyi Folium* (Aiye, each 3 liang).
Cut these six ingredients, decoct in seven sheng of water to obtain two sheng, divide into two doses.
Another miraculous formula for chronic dysentery persisting for thirty years.
*Bark of Pinus Tabulaeformis* (Chisongmupi, remove outer bark, 2 dou).
Pulverize this single ingredient into powder, mix with one sheng of noodle porridge and take, three times daily. It stops immediately. Taking up to one dou ensures permanent cure. This is a secret formula; thirty-year dysentery can be cured within one hundred days. (All from Volume 15).
*Gujin Luyan* treats cold-type dysentery and cholera persisting for thirty years, resistant to other treatments, accompanied by intestinal incontinence. Applicable if caused by Gu-infection.
*Polygoni Multiflori Caulis* (Liaozi), *Artemisiae Argyi Pulvis* (Aixie, each 1 sheng), *Gentianae Radix* (Longdan), *Dipsaci Radix* (Xuduan), *Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma* (Baizhu, each 3 liang), *Zanthoxyli Fructus* (Shujiao, processed), *Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata* (Fuzi, processed), *Cinnamomi Ramulus* (Guixin), *Sophorae Flavescentis Radix* (Kushen).
Pulverize these twelve ingredients, mix with honey. Infants (1 year old) take one pill the size of a Chinese quince seed; toddlers (3 years old) take two; children (5 years old) take three; adults take five. Wash down with water. Excellent for cold-heat qi stagnation in the chest and sudden periumbilical pain due to Qi obstruction.
Lord of Xinqiu’s Formula for Thirty-Year Dysentery.
*Poria* (Fuling), *Zingiberis Rhizoma* (Ganjiang), *Coptidis Rhizoma* (Huanglian, equal parts).
Pulverize these three ingredients into powder, mix with honey to form pills the size of a Chinese quince seed. Take orally, gradually increasing to one hundred pills per day. For severe cases, add equal parts of processed *Draco Sanguis* (Longgu) and *Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata* (Fuzi). Start with ten pills and increase gradually. Stop when effective.
Another Decoction of Angelica, for treating thirty-year dysentery and stopping all pain.
*Angelicae Sinensis Radix* (Danggui, 1 liang), *Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens* (Shengjiang, 8 liang), *Jujubae Fructus* (Dazao, 20 pieces).
Decoct these three ingredients in four sheng of water to obtain one and a half sheng. Divide into three doses. If not cured, prepare again. It is said: "I suffered from dysentery for over thirty years; all treatments failed. Only this formula cured me."
Pomegranate Soup, for severe infectious dysentery and leukorrhea-type dysentery, critical condition approaching death, with intestinal incontinence, untreatable by physicians.
*Zingiberis Rhizoma* (Ganjiang, 2 liang; use double amount of fresh ginger), *Phellodendri Cortex* (Huangbai, 1 liang, finely cut), *Granatum* (Shiliu, one piece, or two small ones), *Colla Corii Asini* (Ejiao, 2 liang, separately ground and soaked).
Cut these four ingredients, decoct in three sheng of water to obtain one sheng and two he. Strain, dissolve Ejiao in the liquid, take in one dose. If not cured, repeat. Suitable for elderly and children. Emaciated patients should take small amounts frequently rather than all at once. Repeat after a short while. Pomegranates must be prepared in advance. (*Zhouhou Beiji Fang* has the same formula without Huangbai, using Huanglian instead; both from Volume 2).
Another formula from *Shen Shi Fang* for chronic dysentery.
*Draco Sanguis* (Longgu), *Halloysitum Rubrum* (Chishizhi), *Myrobalanus Chebula* (Wushi Zi, each 6 fen), *Sanguisorbae Radix* (Diyu, 3 fen), *Artemisiae Argyi Folium* (Shuai Ai, best from March, 3 fen), *Quercus Fructus* (Xiangzi), *Phellodendri Cortex* (Huangbai, each 5 fen).
Pulverize these seven ingredients, mix with honey to form pills the size of a Chinese quince seed. Take forty to fifty pills on an empty stomach with water, twice daily, gradually increasing to sixty pills.
