The etiology of this condition stems from the disharmony of Yin and Yang and the dysfunction of Zang-Fu Qi (Visceral Qi). Cold pathogen fills the chest and diaphragm, causing Qi obstruction and blockage, hence termed "Qi Ye" (Qi Dysphagia), manifesting as panting, palpitations, and pain in the chest and back.
