Take one *Fructus Chaenomelis* (Mume Fruit), half a sheng of *Sojae Semen* (Soybean), and two liang each of *Cortex Lycii Radicis* (Goji Bark), *Herba Exallantae* (Tougucao), *Folium Artemisiae Argyi* (Mugwort Leaf), *Pericarpium Zanthoxyli* (Sichuan Pepper), and *Ramulus Sophorae* (Huai Branch). Decoct for external washing; this is most effective.
When the distiller's grains from sorghum liquor are freshly steamed, insert the legs and feet while hot to fumigate and bathe. After several times, the pain will cease.
Pulverize fresh *Radix Musaensis* (Banana Root) into a paste and apply it topically; this is effective.
Wash fresh *Herba Perillae* (Perilla Herb) and fresh *Flos Impatiens* (Balsam Flower). Pulverize them together with roots and leaves, place them in a wooden basin, pour boiling water over them, rest the feet on the basin to fumigate, and wash when warm enough. Wipe with soft cotton cloth; healing occurs immediately. Even chronic conditions lasting decades may not recur after three or four treatments. Alternatively, decoct one jin of *Herba Prunellae* (Self-heal Spike) in two bowls of water and fumigate the affected area using a jar. Or, grind *Semen Strophanthi* (Prepared Quisqualis Seed) with water and apply topically; pain ceases and healing occurs after two applications.
(This condition is named "Ox-Head Carbuncle".)
Chop two or three liang of green onion heads with roots intact. Mix with hot glutinous rice paste and apply as a poultice. For severe cases, apply five or six times until the swelling dissipates.
Roast cotton seeds until crisp, take the powder, and fill the wound completely. Bandage securely and do not open to inspect; natural healing will occur. This method is verified even for deep-seated ulcers adhering to the bone persisting for three years. Alternatively, burn garlic stalks to ash, mix with sesame oil, and apply. Or, mix human milk and *Oleum Sesami Nigris* (Black Sesame Oil) in equal parts, and apply with a goose feather brush. Or, stir-fry tofu dregs until hot, replace frequently until healed. Or, dry wood ear mushrooms on a tile until charred, pulverize, and apply. This is also known as "Paper-Clamp Plaster." Mix three qian of *Camphora* (Borneolum Syntheticum) and copper verdigris with other powders, crush into a paste, sandwich between oiled paper, and apply to the lesion for one or two days, then flip and reapply for three or four days until pus is exhausted and healing occurs. If not healed after four days, change the paper again for effectiveness.
Pulverize *Ligulum Polypodii* (Water Dragon Bone) and mix with sesame oil for topical application. Alternatively, mix three qian of *Lithargyri Oxidum* (Lead Monoxide) and five qian of roasted *Radix Angelicae Dahuricae* (Dahurian Angelica Root) into powder, blend with *Oleum Sesami Nigris* (Black Sesame Oil), spread onto paper, fold double, prick fine holes with a needle, and apply to the lesion. Secure only at both ends with a band to allow ventilation; change once daily; this is effective.
Decoct one liang of *Pericarpium Zanthoxyli* (Sichuan Pepper), one bunch of scallions, and three liang of *Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens* (Fresh Ginger) in several bowls of water. Fumigate and wash the affected area; swelling subsides and pain stops.
First, slice fresh ginger, dip in sesame oil, and rub the painful area. Then, roast fresh ginger in fire until cooked, crush into a paste, and apply to the lesion; pain ceases immediately.
