If a woman is exposed to the breath of an infant blowing into her nipple pore, causing blockage and stagnation, a lump will form internally, presenting with redness, swelling, and pain. Large lesions are termed *Yong* (Carbuncle), while small ones are termed *Jie* (Boil). Furthermore, if it occurs before childbirth, it is called "Internal Blowing" (*Nei Chui*); if after childbirth, it is called "External Blowing" (*Wai Chui*). Treatment involves using three qian each of Ziheche Cao (Placenta Herb) and Zhe Bei Mu (Fritillaria Bulb), ground into powder, mixed with brown sugar and aged wine for oral administration, followed by covering up to induce sweating. Alternatively, five qian of Baizhi San (Angelica Dahurica Powder) can be taken with wine, resulting in complete resolution after one dose. If ulcerated, administer Xingxiao Wan (Revive and Eliminate Pill) with wine to stop pain, and apply Dongtian Gao (Cave Heaven Plaster) externally for self-healing. For "Internal Blowing," Xingxiao Wan is contraindicated. If the lesion appears white, it should be treated according to the method for *Liuzhu* (Flowing Abscess). If the ulceration is severe, administer Dongtian Jiuku Dan (Cave Heaven Saving Bitter Pill); after seven days, follow with Dazao Wan (Jujube Pill) until recovery.
Ma stated: Breast abscess (*Ruyong*) arises from the stagnation of liver and stomach qi and fire, combined with milk stasis. For red and swollen cases, the use of Caoheche (Sargentodoxa Rhizome) and Zhe Bei Mu is appropriate. However, treating white-colored lesions as *Liuzhu* is a major error. *Liuzhu* is caused by phlegm obstruction and is entirely distinct from breast abscess; therefore, the treatment for *Liuzhu* cannot be applied to breast abscess.
Lesions on the calf arise due to tight muscles and transverse tendons at areas of significant physical exertion, causing unbearable pain. Externally, apply binding medicine; internally, alternate between Wutong Wan (Five Deities Pill) and Xingxiao Wan morning and evening, which can resolve early-stage lesions immediately. Allowing the medicine to penetrate the lesion prevents tendon damage and avoids deformity such as foot retraction. White-colored lesions should be treated as *Ju* (Deep Abscess); binding medicine is contraindicated, including for pregnant women.
Ma stated: This condition results from the coagulation of damp-heat and blood stasis. Even white-colored lesions should not be treated with methods used for *Ju*.
White-colored lesions occur because excessive cooling medicines were taken during smallpox, leading to cold blood and qi stagnation, allowing toxic pathogens to attack deficiency. Physicians often mistakenly treat this as residual fire-toxin after smallpox, causing the toxin to wander and manifest in various locations. Over time, sinuses and fistulas form, and long-standing fistulas may generate multiple sequestra (dead bone fragments), harming many patients. Whenever encountering this syndrome, it should be treated as *Liuzhu* using Xiaojin Dan (Little Gold Pill) to dissipate it. In poor families where smallpox toxins formed without the use of heat-clearing agents, if the color is bright red, it should be treated as a *Yong* (Carbuncle).
Ma stated: Smallpox toxin is congenital fire-toxin. If the pustules lack sufficient fluid, toxicity will erupt after smallpox. It typically occurs at mobile joints, posing a grave danger. Even if ulcerated, healing is difficult, and multiple sequestra will likely form. Even after bone expulsion and wound closure, joints remain stiff and movement is impaired. Early stages should always be managed with dissipation methods. For pale skin lesions, harmonize blood and resolve toxin using Chuanxiong (Ligusticum Rhizome), Danggui (Angelica Sinensis), Erchen Tang (Two Aged Substances Decoction), Jiangcan (Bombyx Batryticatus), Rendongteng (Honeysuckle Stem), and Beimu (Fritillaria Bulb). Externally, chew raw soybeans until paste-like and apply; this can resolve the lesion.
