**Divine Prescription for Treating Leprosy (Mafen)**
This prescription was transmitted by a master from Bailu Cave in Lushan. It is specifically used to treat Mafen (Leprosy), characterized by the loss of eyebrows, curling and contracture of hands and feet, ulceration of skin and flesh, eversion of lips, protrusion of eyes, deviation of the mouth, numbness of the body, lack of pain or itching in muscles, and red-purple patches on the face. The therapeutic effect is miraculous. When preparing this medicine, one must select an auspicious time. It is taboo for women, chickens, dogs, and those in mourning or postpartum periods to see it. It is highly effective.
Ingredients: *Cedrela sinensis* oil (Jingfengzi You) (refined 4 liang); *Gastrodia elata* (Tianma) (4 liang, soaked in wine); *Saposhnikovia divaricata* (Fangfeng) (deprived of rhizome, 4 liang); *Stephania tetrandra* (Hanfangji) (4 liang); *Polygonum multiflorum* (Heshouwu) (4 liang, avoid iron); *Sophora flavescens* (Kushen) (refined 4 liang); *Angelica sinensis* (Danggui) (refined 6 liang, soaked in wine); *Paeonia lactiflora* (Chi Shaoyao) (6 liang); *Chrysanthemum morifolium* (Baijuhua) (4 liang); *Angelica dahurica* (Baizhi) (4 liang, soaked in wine); *Ligusticum chuanxiong* (Chuanxiong) (2 liang); *Angelica pubescens* (Duhuo) (2 liang); *Gardenia jasminoides* seed (Shanzhiren) (2 liang, stir-fried); *Forsythia suspensa* (Lianqiao) (refined 2 liang); *Perilla frutescens* (Baisu) (2 liang); *Mentha haplocalyx* (Bohe) (2 liang); *Scolopendra subspinipes mutilans* (Wugong) (roasted, head and legs removed, 2 liang); *Scorpio* (Quanxie) (3 liang, washed to remove salt and legs); *Bombyx batryticatus* (Jiangcan) (roasted, legs removed, 6 liang); *Bombyx mori* pupal skin (Chantui) (legs removed, 6 liang); *Manis pentadactyla* scales (Chuanshanjia) (2 liang, calcined); *Deinagkistrodon acutus* (Qishe) (8 liang, soaked in wine and dried); *Cibotium barometz* (Gouji) (4 liang, hair removed, soaked in wine).
These twenty-four ingredients are ground into powder. Form pills with wine paste, size of paulownia seeds. Take 70-80 pills each time, swallowed with good wine on an empty stomach, and another dose before sleep. Avoid anger, sexual intercourse, greasy and fried foods, chicken, fish, shrimp, crab, taro, yam, pickled meat/fish, goose, raw/cold foods, sour foods in spring, and cold foods in winter. In winter, even when cold, do not warm oneself by fire. One should sit quietly in a clean, warm room wearing cotton clothes, preserve life, regulate diet, and eliminate distracting thoughts. When taking the medicine, lie supine to allow the medicinal power to circulate throughout the body effectively. If taboos are not observed, effort will be wasted. Even if one does not realize the great efficacy of this medicine, one should only eat black duck, crucian carp, and beef, consumed blandly.

**Secretly Transmitted Qihuang Chan Su Dan**
Ingredients: Fresh crab (4 jin); Raw lacquer (Zhen Shengqi) (1 jin); Toad venom (Zhen Chansu) (2 liang); Realgar (Zhen Xionghuang) (2 liang).
First, place the crabs in a porcelain jar, then add the lacquer. Seal the jar and bury it in the soil for 27 days. Then take it out and open it. Both substances have turned into water. Remove the dregs, filter the water, and boil it slowly in a pot until dry. Dry-roast and grind into fine powder. Then add the powdered realgar and toad venom, mix evenly, and store in a porcelain jar. Take once on an empty stomach and once before bed each day, swallowed with good wine, 1-2 qian. Within one month, the disease will be completely cured and eradicated. The wonders cannot be fully described. It treats Mafen as easily as picking something up with a hand. Moreover, the cost is not high. Do not neglect it. Do not pass it on to unworthy people; keep it secret and cautious.

**Washing Prescription for Mafen Sores**
Ingredients: *Sophora flavescens* (Kushen), *Scrophularia ningpoensis* (Xuanshen), *Bupleurum chinense* (Zishen - *Note: Contextually likely refers to a specific local herb or typo for Bupleurum/other, kept as Zishen*), *Schizonepeta tenuifolia* (Jingjie), *Glehnia littoralis* (Shashen), *Citrus reticulata* peel (Chenpi), *Magnolia officinalis* bark (N Houpo), *Vitex negundo* fruit (Huangjingzi), *Ephedra sinica* (Mahuang) (each 1 liang); *Saposhnikovia divaricata* (Fangfeng), *Angelica dahurica* (Baizhi), *Vernonia anthelmintica* (Manjing), *Aconitum carmichaelii* lateral root processed (Weilingxian) (each 2 liang); Peach branch, Willow branch, Locust tree branch (each 4 liang).
Decoct these in one dou (approx. 10 sheng) of water until reduced to eight sheng. Use the liquid to wash the affected area.

**Another Single Formula (for washing)**
Decoct *Xanthium sibiricum* herbs (Cangercao) in water. Add a small amount of Mirabilite (Piaoxiao/Mangxiao) for bathing. This is even better.

**Smearing Prescription for Mafen Lepra**
Use 4 liang of *Cedrela sinensis* kernel (Da Fengzi Rou), burn to ash but retain its nature, and grind into fine powder. Mix with an equal amount of Calomel (Qingfen). Fry true sesame oil until hot, then apply the mixture to the sores. It is extremely excellent. It is most suitable for wet sores with exudate.

**Prescription for Growing Eyebrows**
Ingredients: *Gleditsia sinensis* thorn (Zaojiaozhen) (dry-roasted); New deer antler (Xin Lu Jiao) (burned to retain nature).
Grind both into fine powder. Mix with ginger juice and apply. Apply once or twice a day. Eyebrows will grow within a few days. Use this formula after taking internal medicines.

**Moxibustion Method to Eliminate the Root of Mafen Disease**
If the disease has healed after taking medicine, moxibustion ensures it never recurs. It effectively expels wind-toxin qi. On the foot, between the bones and tendons of the big toe, approximately half cun away from the interphalangeal joint, apply three moxa cones (Zhuang). This is effective.

**Prescription for Throat Bi and Tonsillitis (Ru E)**
Ingredients: Borneol (Bingpian) (1 fen); Realgar (Xionghuang) (1 qian); *Thermopsis lanceolata* root (Shandougen) (1 qian); Catechu (Ercha) (1 qian); Borax (Qingpeng) (5 fen); Calcined Alum (Ku Fan) (5 fen).
Grind all into fine powder and insufflate into the throat. The effect is miraculous.

**Divine Needle Method for Throat Bi**
If death is imminent and medicinal power cannot save the patient, immediately puncture with a throat needle. Drain all evil, toxic purple blood. Life will return in an instant. The classics say, "Treating Fire syndrome is like saving a fire," which is truly not false. Subsequently, it is best to use insufflation and take Fire-draining medicines.

**Prescription for Snake Nest Sores (Sheke Chuang)**
Use any quantity of *Scolopendra subspinipes mutilans* (Wugong). Store it in true sesame oil in a porcelain bottle. Apply to the affected area. It heals without needing a second application. It also treats various malignant sores.

**Prescription for Spider Sores (Zhizhu Chuang)**
First, rub the sore with ramie fiber (Zhuma si) to release fluid. Then, apply a dry powder of equal parts Realgar (Xionghuang) and Calcined Alum (Ku Fan). This is excellent.

**Prescription for Yang Damp-Phlegm Ulcerated Sores**
If abscesses (Liuzhu) form lumps, or if they become chronic and ulcerated, many practitioners fail because they cannot distinguish between Yin and Yang syndromes or Cold and Heat. Redness, swelling, heat, pain, and a slippery-rapid pulse indicate Yang syndrome.
Ingredients: Pinellia ternata (Banxia), *Scutellaria baicalensis* (Huangqin), *Atractylodes lancea* (Cangzhu), *Phellodendron amurense* (Huangbai), Achyranthes bidentata (Niuxi), Notopterygium incisum (Qianghuo), *Angelica pubescens* (Duhuo), *Quisqualis indica* (Mugua), Akebia quinata (Mutong), Immature bitter orange (Zhishi), Eucommia ulmoides (Duzhong), *Stephania tetrandra* (Fangji), Poria cocos (Baifu), *Gentiana macrophylla* (Qinjiao), Arctium lappa seed (Dali Zi).
For upper body afflictions, add Platycodon grandiflorus (Jiegeng), *Ligusticum chuanxiong* (Chuanxiong), and Trichosanthes kirilowii seed (Louren). Take after meals. For lower body afflictions, take before meals. Decoct two zhong (approx. 400ml) of water with one slice of ginger until reduced to eight fen (approx. 320ml). Drink.

**Prescription for Yin Damp-Phlegm**
This presents as bone pain without muscle pain. The painful area feels cold to the touch and worsens at night, without redness.
Ingredients: Ginseng (Renshen), *Saussurea costus* stem (Fengteng/Haifengteng), *Gleditsia sinensis* thorn (Jiaozhen/Cijia), Tribulus terrestris (Jili), *Ligusticum chuanxiong* (Chuanxiong), Trichosanthes kirilowii root (Huafen), Pinellia ternata (Banxia) (each 1 qian, stir-fried in oil); Atractylodes macrocephala (Baizhu), Areca seed (Binglang) (each 2 qian); Aconitum carmichaelii lateral root processed (Fuzi) (1 qian); *Smilax glabra* rhizome (Tufuling) (4 liang).
Decoct three zhong (approx. 600ml) of water with three slices of ginger in a large pot until reduced to one large bowl. Drink hot. Avoid beef, raw/cold foods, tea, and sexual intercourse. It is very effective. If the sore is broken, add Astragalus membranaceus (Huangqi), Ginseng (Renshen), *Angelica sinensis* (Danggui), Rehmannia glutinosa (Shudihuang), and *Lonicera japonica* flower (Yinjinhua) for enhanced efficacy.
