[Scrofula]
This is a disease of the Foot-Shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian. This meridian has abundant Qi but scarce Blood. The condition may extend to the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian, which has both abundant Qi and abundant Blood. It arises from Qi stagnation and rich dietary flavors generating Wind-Heat. When the lesion spreads and transforms, one must distinguish between Deficiency (Xu) and Excess (Shi). Deficiency patterns are difficult to treat, while Excess patterns are easy to treat. Women suffering from this often present with alternating chills and fever. They can alternate taking Lixiao San (Instant Effect Powder) and Gualou San (Trichosanthes Powder), achieving effective results. Moxibustion is also highly suitable. It is advisable to abstain from sexual intercourse and maintain a bland diet, which is an excellent method.
[Inner Chancre]
This chancre occurs deep within the bone. It belongs to the Foot-Jueyin Liver Meridian. This meridian has abundant Blood but scarce Qi. If it arises above or below the Ligou (LR5) and Zhongdu (LR6) acupoints, it is due to Damp-Toxin. Alternatively, it may result from trauma such as falls, scratches, bumps, or bites from insects and dogs that break the skin. If left untreated for a long time, or due to exposure to Yin pathogens, it leads to blackened flesh, blood stasis, necrosis, and continuous discharge of fluid. The treatment method is described later.
[Outer Chancre]
This chancre occurs on the superficial aspect of the bone. It belongs to the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian. This meridian has both abundant Qi and abundant Blood. It may occur at specific acupoints above or below, generated by Warm-Toxin. With a prolonged course over many years, excessive sexual activity can cause the sore to become black, necrotic, and foul-smelling. If the bone remains uncorrupted, it is treatable. Internally administer herbs that tonify the Middle Jiao and detoxify; externally apply moxibustion, followed by topical medication, leading to recovery. The prescription is provided later.
[Human-Faced Chancre]
This chancre resembles a human face, possessing two types: one with mouth, nose, and eyes. It mostly grows on the elbows or knees. In one type, the patient can eat, and the mouth and eyes can move; in another type, the patient dies, and the mouth and eyes cannot move. These are all bizarre sores, attributed to heavenly retribution or karmic debts. One must reflect and repent before the treatment plan can take effect.
[Blood-Wind Chancre]
This chancre mostly occurs on the medial and lateral aspects of the lower legs, extending from the knee to the ankle bone. It arises because the Blood is invaded by Wind pathogen. It is characterized by intense itching; scratching breaks the skin, discharging yellow fluid and forming sores. Furthermore, there are parasites inside, spreading to more than ten locations. Without encountering a good prescription, efficacy cannot be achieved. The prescription is provided later. Do not regard it as an ordinary disease.
