Han Chuang (Cold Sore) resembles a cat's eye. It has luster but contains no pus or blood. It commonly appears on the body and face. In winter, it tends to occur near the shins. This condition is caused by damp-heat in the Spleen Meridian. Initially, administer Jin Chan Jie Du Wan (Golden Cicada Detoxification Pill), followed by Qing Ji Shen Shi Tang (Clear Muscle and Drain Dampness Decoction). The diet should include chicken, fish, garlic, and leeks. Avoid consuming fish, shrimp, and crab.
Qing Ji Shen Shi Tang (Clear Muscle and Drain Dampness Decoction)
Cang Zhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma), Hou Po (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex), Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Bai Zhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Sheng Ma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Chai Hu (Bupleuri Radix), Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Zhi Zi (Gardeniae Fructus), Ze Xie (Alismatis Rhizoma), Mu Tong (Akebiae Caulis).
Use two bowls of water, three slices of fresh ginger, and twenty stalks of Jixin (Junci Medulla). Decoct until reduced to eighty percent volume for administration.
Yu Ji Chuang (Fish Spine Sore) initially presents with small blisters resembling fish spines. Over time, it ulcerates and discharges yellow fluid. This results from cold internal organs and deficiency of the Du Mai (Governing Vessel). Tuoli Xiaodu San (Support Interior and Eliminate Toxin Powder) is indicated. (See Volume One)
Gu Wei Chuang (Bone Withering Sore) begins as small grains like millet or beans, gradually enlarging to resemble plums or peaches. There is no bleeding or pus formation, yet pain persists. If prolonged, it spreads over the entire body. Treat according to the methods for Ding Chuang (Carbuncle).
Hong Si Chuang (Red Thread Sore) features red threads traversing the skin, with intermittent itching and pain. This is caused by accumulated heat in the Heart Meridian. Treat according to the methods for Hong Si Ding (Red Thread Carbuncle).
Tian She Chuang (Heavenly Snake Sore) presents with skin lesions that resemble Leprosy but are not. It is caused by bites from flower spiders in grasses, compounded by exposure to dew. Qin Jiao Tang (Gentiana Decoction) is indicated.
Qin Jiao Tang: Use only Qin Jiao (Gentianae Radix et Rhizoma); decoct in water and drink.
Feng Gan (Wind Chancre) resembles Feng Xuan (Wind Tinea). Upon rupture, it discharges yellow fluid and spreads diffusely over the body. This is due to wind-damp pathogens invading the anal region. Apply Ru Sheng Gao (Like Sage Ointment).
Ingredients: Ma You (Sesame Oil, 8 ounces), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, 1.5 ounces), Ba Dou Ren (Crotonis Semen, 0.75 ounces).
Fry until dark, remove dregs. Add Huang La (Beeswax, 3 taels) and melt. Remove from fire; when nearly solidifying, add Qing Fen (Calomel, 2 qian) and mix evenly for application.
Xue Gan (Blood Chancre) resembles purple scabies, characterized by itching, pain, and significant bleeding. This is caused by wind-heat obstructing the Cou Li (interstices). Qing Ji Shen Shi Tang (Clear Muscle and Drain Dampness Decoction) is indicated. (See Han Chuang section above)
Bai Fu (White Skin Condition) resembles rash or scabies, presenting with white coloration and itching, leaving white scales upon scratching. Commonly known as She Feng (Snake Wind). This is caused by wind pathogens lodging in the skin, where dry blood fails to nourish the tissues. Soufeng Shunqi Wan (Search Wind and Smooth Qi Pill) or Shenyang Yangzhen Dan (Divine Response Nourish True Pill) combined with Bai She (likely referring to specific herbs for snake-related conditions) are indicated.
