Yudu Fa (Fish Belly Eruption) resembles the shape of a fish belly. It arises at Qingling (HT9, Heart Meridian), caused by the coagulation of Heart Fire. It presents with sudden swelling, reddish and vibrant color, heat, and pain. Treating it according to the methods for carbuncles and sores will lead to success.
[Note] This condition occurs in the hanging flesh behind the elbow, belonging to Qingling (HT9) of the Heart Meridian, formed by the coagulation of fire-toxin. It presents with sudden swelling, redness, heat, and pain, resembling a fish belly. The treatment methods for both the swelling stage and the ulceration stage follow the regulations in the chapters on Carbuncle and Sore Swelling Ulcer and Carbuncle and Sore Ulceration. The guiding herbs should be added according to clinical presentation.
Shili Ju (Pomegranate Carbuncle) originates above the tip of the elbow. Initially, it appears like millet grains with an open root base, presenting as hard, swollen, and painful. Upon rupture, it everts like a pomegranate, accompanied by severe chills and fever. This is caused by the coagulation of Ministerial Fire of the Sanjiao (Triple Burner) with dampness.
[Note] This condition occurs about one cun above the tip of the elbow, belonging to Tianjing (TE10) of the Sanjiao Meridian. At the onset, small yellow millet-like pustules appear, but the root base feels open and enlarged, with red, swollen, hard, and painful characteristics. The swelling resembles an inverted bowl, and upon rupture, it everts like a pomegranate, with chills and fever resembling malaria. It is formed by the interaction of Ministerial Fire of the Sanjiao and external dampness. At the onset, Chan Su Wan (Toad Venom Pill) should be administered to induce sweating. Externally, apply nine moxa cones, paste Chan Su Bing (Toad Venom Cake), and cover with Wan Ying Gao (Ten Thousand Benefits Plaster). Apply Chong He Gao (Harmonizing Ointment) to the swollen area, and internally administer Ju Hua Qing Zao Tang (Chrysanthemum Clearing Dryness Decoction). If there is irritability and severe heat, take Hu Xin San (Heart-Protecting Powder). After nine days, if thick pus forms, pain decreases, appetite returns, and exterior and interior syndromes recede, it is a favorable outcome; otherwise, it is unfavorable. After rupture, wash with decoction of Chrysanthemum stamens, then burn Chrysanthemum flowers to ash while preserving their nature, mix with a small amount of Calomel (Qing Fen), and apply externally for excellent effect. During the stages of promoting pus discharge, eliminating necrotic tissue, and generating muscle, internal and external treatments follow the regulations in the chapter on Carbuncle and Sore Ulceration.
