Tianxing Faban (Epidemic Spotted Fever), presenting with symptoms resembling burns, where sores are pea-sized. Within a short time, the head, face, and limbs become covered all over, each containing white pus. Death occurs within a few days; this is caused by the accumulation of dampness, evil qi, and toxic pathogens over a long period. Use honey water to decoct Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), taking it frequently. Additionally, extract juice from Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma) and apply it to the affected area using cotton swabs.
Sores that persist for years without healing, accompanied by cold skin and cold mouth, which stubbornly fail to form scabs, are termed Wanchuang (Stubborn Sores). Apply mashed Machixian (Portulacae Herba) externally; healing occurs in no more than two or three applications.
E-kuang (Malignant Sores) resembling leprosy that do not heal for years: use one piece of Shedui (Ophiopogonis Periochum), burnt until its nature is preserved (Chun Cun Xing), mixed with Zhizhi (Porcine Fat) for external application. Internally, administer with warm wine.
Du Chuang (Toxic Sores) presenting with edema, causing pain and shouting such that sleep is impossible. Mash two bulbs of Dusuansuan (Allium Sativum Bulbus), mix with Mayou (Sesami Oleum), and apply thickly. Replace when dry.
For malignant sores unrecognizable by patients: use Chan Su (Venenum Bufonis) 1 qian, Baifan (Tritici Farinam) 2 qian, and a small amount of Zhusha (Cinnabaris). Mix with fresh well-water to form pellets the size of wheat grains. Administer one pellet per dose with Scencong Jiangtang (Scallion, Ginger, and Decoction); sweating indicates recovery. In urgent cases, continue administering five to seven pellets for efficacy.
Sudden sensation throughout the body as if pierced by awls, accompanied by itching and pain, leading to inability to eat or drink, is termed Xue Yong (Blood Stagnation). Burn Chipicong (Allii Tuberosi Rhizomum et Radix) to ash, filter juice with water to wash the affected area, and internally administer Danshichidaoji Tang (Fermented Soybean Decoction) several cups for recovery.
Blisters appearing throughout the body resembling Gantangli (Pears), leaking fluid upon rupture, containing a stone fragment the size of a fingernail inside. The blisters regenerate repeatedly; exhaustion of muscle tissue leads to death. Urgently use Sanleng (Sparganii Rhizoma) and Ezhu (Curcumae Rhizoma), each 2 liang, ground into powder. Divide into three doses, taken with wine continuously for recovery.
Sores growing on the crown of the head, cherry-sized with five colors. Upon rupture, splitting occurs from the top, peeling off the skin down to the feet, termed Rouren (Flesh Person). Daily consumption of Niurou (Cow's Milk) causes spontaneous resolution.
Alternating chills and fever lasting several days, limbs becoming hard as stone, producing a bell-like sound upon percussion, with gradual emaciation. Use Wuyu (Evodiae Fructus) and Mu'er (Auriculariae Auricula-Judae Fructus) in equal proportions, decocted in water and taken frequently.
Following moxibustion sores, after the scab falls off, fresh flesh within the sore forms sheets that flutter like butterflies and seem to fly away, causing unbearable pain. This indicates extreme heat in both blood and flesh. Use Xiaoyan (Natrii Sulfas) and Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), each 5 qian, ground into powder. Take with water; mild purgation indicates recovery.
