捻看硬软得所，入琥珀等，搅令匀，倾于不津器内盛。每使时，看疮肿大小，以故帛上涂
贴，日二度换之。

以上药物，都切碎，先煎麻油至沸腾，放入甘松、檀香、柳枝、柏枝，用慢火煎半天，颜色变为赤黑色，过滤去掉药渣，放入其他药物，用文火煎，等到白芷颜色变黑，过滤出来，放入蜡和松脂，使其融化，用丝绵过滤，洗净锅，再放入药和油，加入黄丹，煮沸后着火煎，不停地搅拌，等到颜色变黑，滴入水中像珠子一样凝固，膏就制成了，用瓷盒盛装。取帛摊开贴敷，每天早晚更换，以痊愈为度。

以上药物，捣碎过细罗成为散剂，加入松脂、乱发、麻油内，煎煮，直到头发完全溶解，用丝绵过滤去掉药渣，澄清，擦净锅。用慢火熬药，加入黄丹，用柳木篦不停地搅拌，令其变黑，一次性加入所有药末，搅拌均匀，看软硬合适，在不透气的容器内收存。每次使用时，看肿痛处大小，在火旁煨热，摊在旧帛上，厚贴，每天换两次。

以上药物，丁香、木香、当归、白蔹、川芎这五味，都捣碎过细罗成为散剂，与琥珀、雄黄、朱砂混合，细研，等到膏制成后，再加入剩下的药，并用油浸泡一个晚上，在干净的锅内煎炼，以生地黄颜色变黑为度，用丝绵过滤去掉药渣，澄清，再在锅内用慢火熬制药油，依次加入黄丹，用柳木篦不停地搅拌，令其颜色变黑，取少许滴入水中，捏看硬软合适，加入琥珀等药，搅拌均匀，倒入不透气的容器内盛装。每次使用时，看疮肿大小，在旧帛上涂敷贴，每天换两次。

以上药物，切碎，在油内浸泡三个晚上，放入干净的锅内，用慢火熬直到柳枝呈黄黑色为度，用丝绵过滤去掉药渣，澄清，再在锅内用慢火熬制药油，依次加入黄丹，用柳木篦不停地搅拌，令其均匀，滴入水中，捏看硬软合适，贴敷。
Formula for Shensheng Ointment to treat back carbuncles and sores, with hard swelling and unbearable pain.
Muxiang (Lignum Trogopterori) (1 liang), Xionghuang (Realgar) (1 liang, finely ground), Guixin (Cortex Cinnamomi Cassiae) (1 liang), Chishaoyao (Radix Paeoniae Rubra) (1 liang), Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis) (1 liang), Renshen (Radix Ginseng) (1 liang, rhizome removed), Xiong (Radix Ligustici Chuanxiong) (1 liang), Baitanxiang (Lignum Santali Albae) (1 liang), Gansongxiang (Rhizoma Nardostachyos) (1 liang), Huangdan (Lithargyrum) (1 jin), Qingmayou (Semen Cannabis Oil) (3 liang).
All the above herbs are finely chopped. First, boil the oil until bubbling, then add Gansong, Baitanxiang, Liu Zhi (Ramulus Salicis), and Bo Zhi (Ramulus Platycladi). Simmer over low heat for half a day until the color turns dark red-black. Strain to remove dregs. Add the remaining herbs and simmer over gentle heat until Baizhi (Radix Angelicae Dahuricae) turns black. Strain out. Add La (Beeswax) and Songzhi (Pine Rosin) until melted. Filter through silk gauze. Clean the pot thoroughly. Return the herbs and oil to the pot, add Huangdan, bring to a boil, and simmer over fire while stirring constantly. When the mixture turns black and drops into water form bead-like pellets, the ointment is ready. Store in a porcelain container. Spread on cloth and apply externally. Change morning and evening until healed.
Formula for Wuxi Ointment to treat back carbuncles and sores with hard swelling and pain.
Wuxi xie (Cornu Rhinocerotis Tritum) (1 liang), Xuanshen (Radix Scrophulariae) (1 liang), Huangqin (Radix Scutellariae) (1 liang), Zige (Radix Polygoni Multiflori) (1 liang), Mutong (Caulis Akebiae) (1 liang), Chuanshengma (Rhizoma Cimicifugae) (1 liang), Baizhi (Radix Angelicae Dahuricae) (1 liang), Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis) (1 liang), Bailian (Bulbus Lilii) (1 liang), Baiji (Tuber Bletillae) (1 liang), Fangfeng (Radix Saposhnikoviae) (1 liang, rhizome removed), Xiong (Radix Ligustici Chuanxiong) (1 liang), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae) (2 liang), Liu Zhi (Ramulus Salicis) (2 liang), Songzhi (Pine Rosin) (2 liang), Huangdan (Lithargyrum) (12 liang), La (Beeswax) (appropriate amount).
Finely chop all the above herbs. Soak them in oil in a clean pot for three nights. Then simmer over gentle heat. Add Songzhi and La until melted. Filter through silk gauze to remove dregs. Clean the pot thoroughly. Pour the liquid back into the pot and add Huangdan. When the color turns black, drop some into water and test the consistency. Pour into a porcelain container. Apply by spreading on cloth.
Formula for Heijin Ointment to treat wind-toxin accumulation causing hardness and pain, as well as deep-seated bone abscesses.
Guixin (Cortex Cinnamomi Cassiae) (1 fen), Xiong (Radix Ligustici Chuanxiong) (1 fen), Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis) (1 liang), Mubiezi (Semen Strychnos) (1 fen, shell removed), Wuzeiyu gu (Os Sepiae) (1 fen), Loulu (Radix Euphorbiae Humifusae) (1 fen), Baitanxiang (Lignum Santali Albae) (1 fen), Dingxiang (Flos Caryophylli) (1 fen).
Pulverize the above herbs through a fine sieve. Mix with Songzhi (Pine Rosin), Luafa (Human Hair), and Mayou (Sesame Oil). Boil until the hair dissolves completely. Filter through silk gauze to clarify. Clean the pot thoroughly. Simmer the oil over low heat and add Huangdan (Lithargyrum). Stir constantly with a willow spatula until black. Add all the powdered herbs at once and mix evenly. Adjust consistency as needed. Store in an airtight container. For use, assess the size of the painful swelling. Warm the ointment near fire, spread thickly on old cloth, and apply. Change twice daily.
Formula for Hupo Ointment to treat back carbuncles, all kinds of malignant toxic swellings, hardness, and pain.
Hupo (Electrum) (1 fen, finely ground), Xionghuang (Realgar) (1 fen, finely ground), Zhusha (Cinnabaris) (1 fen, finely ground), Dingxiang (Flos Caryophylli) (1 fen), Muxiang (Lignum Trogopterori) (1 fen), Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis) (1 fen), Bailian (Bulbus Lilii) (1 fen), Xiong (Radix Ligustici Chuanxiong) (1 fen), Mubiezi (Semen Strychnos) (1 liang, shell removed), Luafa (Human Hair) (1 liang, burnt to ash), Shengdihuang (Radix Rehmanniae) (2 liang, sliced).
The five herbs—Dingxiang, Muxiang, Danggui, Bailian, and Xiong—are pulverized through a fine sieve. Mix with Hupo, Xionghuang, and Zhusha and grind finely. Once the base ointment is prepared, add the remaining herbs. Soak in oil overnight. Refine in a clean pot. The process is complete when Shengdihuang turns black. Filter through silk gauze to clarify. Simmer the medicinal oil over low heat in the pot. Gradually add Huangdan (Lithargyrum) and stir constantly with a willow spatula until black. Test consistency by dropping into water. Add Hupo and other ingredients, mix evenly, and pour into an airtight container. For use, assess the size of the swelling. Apply on old cloth. Change twice daily.

Mutong (Caulis Akebiae) (1 fen), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae) (1 fen), Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis) (1 fen), Baizhi (Radix Angelicae Dahuricae) (1 fen), Fangfeng (Radix Saposhnikoviae) (1 fen, rhizome removed), Xixin (Herba Asari) (1 fen), Zhizi Ren (Semen Gardeniae) (1 fen), Huanglian (Rhizoma Coptidis) (1 fen), Chuiliuzhi (Ramulus Salicis Pendulae) (3 he, fresh), Huangqin (Radix Scutellariae) (3 fen), Huangdan (Lithargyrum) (6 liang), Huangla (Yellow Beeswax) (2 liang), Qingmayou (Semen Cannabis Oil) (appropriate amount).
