以上药物，一至二岁幼儿，每次取少许滴入口中；三至四岁幼儿，每次取一小橡斗许，滴入口中。一日三次。

Pediatric "Jing Re" (Startled Heat) is caused by disharmony of blood and qi internally, with heat and excess accumulating within. This unsettles the Heart Spirit (Shen), leading to惊 (startle/fright). In severe cases, it manifests as limb twitching and contraction, evolving into 痫 (epilepsy/seizure disorder).
For pediatric Jing Re presenting with restless sleep and tendon vessel twitching, the Xijiao San (Rhinoceros Horn Powder) formula is indicated.
Rhino Cornu (Xijiao) (half liang), Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen) (half liang, remove rhizome head), Poria Cum Radix (Fushen) (half liang), Dragon Bone (Longgu) (one liang), Ophiopogonis Radix (Maidong) (one liang, remove heart and roast), Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin) (half liang).
Crush the above herbs, sieve through a coarse mesh to make a powder. Take one qian per dose, add one small cup of water, decoct until reduced to half a cup, strain, add fresh Rehmanniae Radix juice (Sheng Dihuang Zhi) half he, administer at any time without restriction, adjusting dosage according to the child's age and size.
For pediatric Jing Re, the Gouteng San (Uncaria Powder) formula is used.
