厌食症，与食积形成的症块没有区别。这都是因为脏腑之气虚弱，饮食没有节制，生冷食物摄入过多，导致食物无法消化，与脏腑之气相互搏结所致。
治疗多年不愈的厌食及食积症块。
治疗气血瘀滞及腹内症块的硼砂丸方：
硼砂（半两，细研）、青礞石（一分，细研）、穿山甲（一分，炙至焦黄）、磁石（一分，烧红后在醋中淬炼七遍，捣碎研成粉）、京三棱（一分，微煨后锉碎）、干漆（一分，捣碎炒至烟出）、虻虫（五十枚，炒至微黄，去翅足）。
以上药物，捣碎过筛成粉末，加入巴豆，共同研磨均匀。用软饭调和制成丸药，大小如小豆。每次服用三丸，小儿服用一丸。以……（原文此处有缺漏）治疗厌食，以及腹内的气块，无论病程长短皆有效。
木香丸方：
木香（半两）、京三棱（半两，微煨后锉碎）、五灵脂（半两）、芫花（半两，用醋拌匀炒干）、百草霜（半两）。
以上药物，捣碎过筛成粉末。每一钱药末，加入一粒不去心膜的巴豆进行研磨。每十钱药末加入十粒巴豆。随时加入浓香的墨汁，待大便疏通后，只吃粥一两日。治一切气滞者，用陈皮生姜汤送服；治血瘀者，用当归酒送服三丸。
治疗长期厌食在腹中，形成症块不消散的五灵脂丸方：
五灵脂（半两）、马牙硝（半两）、木香（一分，研末）、阿魏（一分）、硼砂（半两）、水银（一分，与腻粉同研）。
以上药物，共同研磨直到水银星点消失。用炼蜜调和制成丸药，大小如酸枣。每次服用一丸，用一枚去核的大枣，将一丸药放入枣内，神效。
又一方：
巴豆（半两，去皮心，研后用纸包裹压去油）、青礞石（一分，细研）、硼砂（半两，细研）、干漆（半两，捣碎炒）。
以上药物，都细研均匀。用软饭调和制成丸药，大小如黍米。每次在饭前，用生姜橘皮汤送服三丸。
治疗厌食日久不消，使人面色萎黄、身体瘦弱，适宜服用此方：
硼砂（半两）、朱砂（一分，细研）、甘遂（半两，煨至黄色）、京三棱（半两，微焙后锉碎）、川大黄（一分）。
以上药物，捣碎过筛成粉末，加入已研磨好的其他药物使其均匀。用醋煮面糊调和制成丸药，大小如绿豆。每次在饭前，用生姜橘皮汤送服。
治疗厌食在腹中，积聚成块，久不消散，适宜服用此方：
硼砂（三分，细研）、腻粉（一分）、水银（一分，用枣瓤研磨直到星点消失）、巴豆（一分，去皮）、京三棱（同捣为末）。
以上药物，都研磨成粉末。用枣瓤调和制成丸药，大小如豌豆，晒干。每次在饭前，用生姜酒送服三丸。
治疗厌食症块，久不痊愈的方剂：
腻粉（半两）、粉霜（一分半，细研）、礞石（一分，细研）、硼砂（一分，用醋化开去掉石头残渣，熬取霜状）。
以上药物，共同研磨成粉末。用白面四两，和成药饼，包裹住药物，烧至面熟为止。取出后，再加入一钱丁香末。
治疗厌食留滞在脏腑，久不消化，朱砂丸方：
朱砂（半两）、硼砂（半两）、巴豆（一分）、硫黄（半两）、芫花（一分，用醋拌匀炒干后为末）、礞石（……原文此处有缺漏）。
以上药物，先用巴豆去皮心，盛放在瓷瓶子里，在堂屋北面的阴凉处，正对子位的地面上挖坑，埋入瓶子，用盆子盖好……（原文此处有缺漏）再研磨。

治疗厌食不论年月，神效的水银丸方：
水银（半两）、硼砂（半两）、腻粉（二分）、定粉（二分）、硝石（一分）。
以上药物，共同研磨均匀，等到水银星点消失为止。用枣瓤调和制成丸药，大小如酸枣。再用一枚去核的大枣，将一丸药放入枣内。
治疗长期厌食，使其自行消化，巴豆丸方：
巴豆（一两，不去油，只去皮心烂研）、大麦（二两，炒至微黄）、神曲（一两，炙至微黄）、香墨（半两）。
以上药物，捣碎过筛成粉末。用一碗头醋，在锅内，先放入巴豆，煎煮三沸，然后放入其他药物，煎至稠厚可制丸的程度。
又一方：
豆豉（二钱，炒至烟出，捣为末）、大戟（一钱，用生姜汁和面包裹煨熟，捣为末）、腻粉（一钱）。
以上药物，共同研磨均匀。如果是十年以上的厌食，夜间用冷水调下一钱药末。到第二天早上就会排出。然后将息十余日。
又一方：
腻粉（半钱）、硫黄（半钱）。
以上药物，共同研磨细腻。用一枚去核的大枣，将药纳入枣内，用面包裹，在灰火中烧。等到面熟为止。取出去掉面皮，用枣药空腹用温水嚼服。
Anorexia (loss of appetite) is no different from food stagnation forming mass lesions. This is all due to deficiency of Qi in the Zang-Fu organs, irregular diet, excessive intake of raw and cold foods, inability to digest, and the struggle between undigested food and the Qi of the Zang-Fu organs.
To treat chronic anorexia and food stagnation masses lasting for years.
Formula of Pengsha Wan (Borax Pill) to treat Blood and Qi stasis and abdominal masses:
Pengsha (Borax, 0.5 liang, finely ground), Qingmengshi (Green Migmatite, 1 fen, finely ground), Chuanshanjia (Pangolin Scales, 1 fen, roasted until yellow and scorched), Cishi (Magnetite, 1 fen, heated red-hot and quenched in vinegar seven times, then crushed and ground into powder), Jingsanleng (Rhizoma Sparganii, 1 fen, slightly roasted and chopped), Ganqi (Resina Kansui, 1 fen, crushed and roasted until smoke emerges), Mengchong (Blatta Orientalis/Oriental Cockroach, 50 pieces, roasted until slightly yellow, wings and legs removed).
The above medicines are crushed, sifted into powder, mixed with Badou (Fructus Crotonis/Tiglii Fructus), and ground together until uniform. Form pills with soft rice, size of small beans. Take three pills per dose; children take one pill. Use... [text missing] to treat anorexia and Qi masses in the abdomen; effective regardless of duration.
Formula of Muxiang Wan (Costus Root Pill):
Muxiang (Radix Aucklandiae, 0.5 liang), Jingsanleng (Rhizoma Sparganii, 0.5 liang, slightly roasted and chopped), Wulingzhi (Trogopterus Dung, 0.5 liang), Yuanhua (Flos Genkwa, 0.5 liang, mixed with vinegar and roasted dry), Baicaoshuang (Soot from burning hundred herbs, 0.5 liang).
The above medicines are crushed and sifted into powder. For every qian of powder, grind one Badou (Fructus Crotonis/Tiglii Fructus) without removing its heart membrane. For every ten qian of powder, add ten Badou seeds. Gradually add thick ink juice. After bowel movement is unblocked, consume only porridge for one or two days. For general Qi stagnation, take with Chenpi Shengjiang Tang (Tangerine Peel and Ginger Decoction); for Blood stasis, take Danggui Jiu (Angelica Sinensis Wine) with three pills.
Formula of Wulingzhi Wan (Trogopterus Dung Pill) to treat long-term anorexia in the abdomen forming indigestible masses:
Wulingzhi (Trogopterus Dung, 0.5 liang), Mayaxiao (Sal Nitri, 0.5 liang), Muxiang (Radix Aucklandiae, 1 fen, powdered), Awèi (Resina Asafoetidae, 1 fen), Pengsha (Borax, 0.5 liang), Shuiyin (Hydrargyrum/Mercury, 1 fen, ground with Nifen/Nigrum Plumbi Subnitras).
Grind the above medicines together until the Mercury stars disappear. Mix with refined honey to form pills the size of sour jujubes. Take one pill per dose. Place one pill inside a pitted jujube; this is miraculous.
Another formula:
Badou (Fructus Crotonis/Tiglii Fructus, 0.5 liang, peeled, cored, ground, wrapped in paper, pressed to remove oil), Qingmengshi (Green Migmatite, 1 fen, finely ground), Pengsha (Borax, 0.5 liang, finely ground), Ganqi (Resina Kansui, 0.5 liang, crushed and roasted).
Grind the above medicines finely and uniformly. Form pills with soft rice, size of millet grains. Take three pills before meals with Shengjiang Jupi Tang (Ginger and Tangerine Peel Decoction).
For anorexia that has persisted for a long time without resolving, causing sallow complexion and emaciation, this formula is suitable:
Pengsha (Borax, 0.5 liang), Zhusha (Cinnabar, 1 fen, finely ground), Gansui (Radix Euphorbiae Kansui, 0.5 liang, roasted until yellow), Jingsanleng (Rhizoma Sparganii, 0.5 liang, slightly roasted and chopped), Chuan Dahuang (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei, 1 fen).
Crush and sift the above medicines into powder, mix with other ground medicines until uniform. Form pills with paste made by boiling flour in vinegar, size of mung beans. Take before meals with Shengjiang Jupi Tang (Ginger and Tangerine Peel Decoction).
For anorexia accumulating in the abdomen, forming masses that do not dissipate for a long time, this formula is suitable:
Pengsha (Borax, 3 fen, finely ground), Nifen (Nigrum Plumbi Subnitras, 1 fen), Shuiyin (Hydrargyrum/Mercury, 1 fen, ground with jujube pulp until stars disappear), Badou (Fructus Crotonis/Tiglii Fructus, 1 fen, peeled), Jingsanleng (Rhizoma Sparganii, ground together into powder).
Grind the above medicines into powder. Form pills with jujube pulp, size of pea seeds, and dry them. Take three pills before meals with Shengjiang Jiu (Ginger Wine).
Formula for treating anorexia and mass lesions that have not healed for a long time:
Nifen (Nigrum Plumbi Subnitras, 0.5 liang), Fenshuang (Plumbi Subcarbonas/Basic Lead Carbonate, 1.5 fen, finely ground), Mengshi (Migmatite, 1 fen, finely ground), Pengsha (Borax, 1 fen, dissolved in vinegar, stones removed, boiled to obtain frost).
Grind the above medicines into powder. Mix with four liang of white flour to make cakes, wrap the medicine inside, and bake until the flour is cooked. Remove, then add one qian of Dingxiang (Caryophylli Flos/Clove) powder.
Formula of Zhusha Wan (Cinnabar Pill) to treat anorexia retained in the Zang-Fu organs, failing to digest for a long time:
Zhusha (Cinnabar, 0.5 liang), Pengsha (Borax, 0.5 liang), Badou (Fructus Crotonis/Tiglii Fructus, 1 fen), Huangqi (Sulfur, 0.5 liang), Yuanhua (Flos Genkwa, 1 fen, mixed with vinegar and roasted dry into powder), Mengshi (Migmatite, ... [text missing]).
First, peel and core the Badou (Fructus Crotonis/Tiglii Fructus), place it in a porcelain bottle. In the shady north side of the hall, dig a pit directly below the Zi position (north), bury the bottle, cover with a basin... [text missing], then grind.

Badou (Fructus Crotonis/Tiglii Fructus, 0.5 liang, peeled, cored, ground, wrapped in paper, pressed to remove oil), Zaojiao (Gleditsiae Fructus/Sweet Locust Bean, 2 tins, black skin removed, coated with butter, roasted until yellow and scorched, seeds removed), Chuan Wutou (Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata/Prepared Lateral Root of Monkshood, 1 liang... Crush and sift the above medicines into fine powder, mix with other medicines until uniform. Form pills with refined honey, size of mung beans. Take three pills on an empty stomach with Yantang (Salt Water Decoction). Women... [text missing].
Formula of Shuiyin Wan (Mercury Pill) for treating anorexia regardless of duration, miraculous effect:
Shuiyin (Hydrargyrum/Mercury, 0.5 liang), Pengsha (Borax, 0.5 liang), Nifen (Nigrum Plumbi Subnitras, 2 fen), Dingfen (Minium/Red Lead, 2 fen), Xiaoshi (Sal Petre/Nitrum, 1 fen).
Grind the above medicines uniformly until the Mercury stars disappear. Form pills with jujube pulp, size of sour jujubes. Place one pill inside a pitted jujube.
Formula of Badou Wan (Croton Seed Pill) to treat long-term anorexia, allowing self-digestion:
Badou (Fructus Crotonis/Tiglii Fructus, 1 liang, do not remove oil, only peel and core, grind thoroughly), Damai (Hordei Fructus Germinatus/Barley Sprout, 2 liang, roasted until slightly yellow), Shenqu (Massa Medicata Fermentata/Brewer's Yeast, 1 liang, roasted until slightly yellow), Xiangmo (Ink Stick, 0.5 liang).
Crush and sift the above medicines into powder. Put one bowl of head vinegar in a pot, first add Badou (Fructus Crotonis/Tiglii Fructus), boil for three ebullitions, then add other medicines, boil until thick enough to form pills.
Another formula:
Douchi (Sojae Semen Praeparatum/Fermented Soybean, 2 qian, roasted until smoke emerges, crushed into powder), Daji (Radix Euphorbiae Thunbergii, 1 qian, wrapped in dough with Ginger Juice, roasted until cooked, crushed into powder), Nifen (Nigrum Plumbi Subnitras, 1 qian).
Grind the above medicines uniformly. For anorexia lasting ten years or more, take one qian mixed with cold water at night. It will be discharged the next morning. Then rest for more than ten days.
Another formula:
Nifen (Nigrum Plumbi Subnitras, 0.5 qian), Huangqi (Sulfur, 0.5 qian).
Grind the above medicines finely. Place the medicine inside a pitted jujube, wrap with dough, and roast in ash fire until the dough is cooked. Remove the dough, chew the jujube-medicine mixture with warm water on an empty stomach.
