Some individuals consume snake meat that fails to digest, resulting in the formation of "She Jia" (Snake Mass), a type of accumulation disorder caused by ingesting snake or accidentally introducing snake essence into the diet. Alternatively, snake essence may inadvertently enter food and beverages, also causing illness. The characteristic symptom is persistent, distressing hunger.
Prescription for Treating Snake Mass:
Chuan Mangxiao (Natrii Sulfas, 1/2 liang), Wuzuiyu Gu (Sepiae Endoconcha, 1/2 liang), Chuan Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, 1/2 liang, crushed and lightly stir-fried), Fangkui (Radix Adenophorae seu Polygalae, 1/2 liang), Zaojiao (Gleditsiae Fructus, 1/2 liang, black skin removed).
Crush the above herbs into a coarse powder and sieve them. Take 4 qian per dose. Add one zhong of water, decoct until reduced to 6 fen, remove the dregs, and take warm. Administer three to four times daily.
Another Prescription:
Xionghuang (Realgar, 1 fen), Baijian (Alumen, 1 fen, calcined to ash), Nifen (Calomelas, 1 qian), Badou (Crotonis Fructus, 14 seeds, heart and skin removed, pressed between paper to remove oil), Shexiang (Moschus, dosage omitted in text, typically minute amount).
Grind all ingredients into a fine powder. Mix with Tao Jiao (Pruni Persicae Gum) to form pills the size of mung beans. Take five pills per dose with warm wine, three to four times daily.
"Bie Jia" (Turtle Mass) refers to an abdominal mass shaped like a turtle. It arises from eating turtle meat that becomes cold and indigestible, or from consuming various meats that transform due to cold pathogens. [Text fragment regarding white horse is incomplete].
Prescription for Treating Turtle Mass:
Chuan Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, 1/2 liang, crushed and lightly stir-fried), Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma, 1/2 liang, processed and crushed), Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, 1/2 liang, processed, skin and bud removed), Xiechong (Eupolyphagae Seu Steleophagi, seven pieces approx. one cun long, roasted until slightly yellow), Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma, dosage implied).
Grind the above herbs into a fine powder and sieve them. Take 1 qian per dose with warm wine, three to four times daily.
Another Prescription:
Fangkui (Radix Adenophorae seu Polygalae, 1 liang), Biejia (Testudinis Carapax et Plastrum, 1 liang, brushed with vinegar and roasted until yellow, skirt edge removed), Kulianzi (Meliae Semen, 1 liang), Yuliren (Pruni Semen, 1 liang, soaked in hot water, skin removed, lightly stir-fried).
Grind the above herbs into a fine powder and sieve them. Take 2 qian per dose mixed with warm wine, three to four times daily.
When stomach qi is deficient, consuming raw fish or meat can be obstructed by cold qi, failing to digest and forming "Yu Jia" (Fish Mass). Palpation reveals a shape resembling a fish. [Text fragment regarding other causes is incomplete].
Prescription for Treating Stagnation of Fish and Raw Meat in the Chest and Diaphragm, Indigestion, Inability to Vomit, Leading to Zheng Jia (Fixed and Movable Masses):
Houpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex, 1 liang, rough bark removed, brushed with fresh ginger juice and roasted until fragrant), Chuan Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, 2 liang, crushed and lightly stir-fried).
Finely cut the herbs and divide into two doses. For each dose, boil in one large cup of wine until reduced to 6 fen. Remove dregs, allow to cool to warm temperature, and consume entirely. Repeat after some time.
Prescription for Treating Indigestion of Raw Sliced Fish (Kuai):
Extract one large cup of juice from Mabiancao (Verbenae Herba), boil for five to seven boils. Divide into two warm doses. Consumption leads to digestion. Ginger juice is also effective.
Another Prescription:
Burn fish scales to ash, grind finely. Take 1 qian per dose mixed with fresh drawn water.
