If a metallic weapon injury (Jinchuang, trauma caused by metal weapons) fails to heal for a long time, with continuous discharge of pus and failure of muscle regeneration, it is because there are broken bones, severed tendons, stagnant blood, and necrotic flesh inside the wound, or foreign bodies such as iron blades or bamboo splinters remain in the body for a long time without being expelled, preventing the wound from healing. The wound tends to exude clear fluid. In this case, one should incise and remove these foreign bodies; the wound will then heal.
For metallic weapon injuries that fail to heal for a long time, it is appropriate to apply the Bai Lian San (White Peony Root Powder) prescription.
Bai Lian (Radix Paeoniae Rubrae, two liang), Huang Qin (Coptidis Rhizoma, two liang), Mang Cao (Artemisia argyi leaf, two liang), Di Song (three liang), Duan Shi (Calamina, five liang), Gou Tou Gu (Canis Cranium, five liang, calcined to ash).
The above herbs are finely ground into powder through a fine sieve and applied to the wound for immediate effect.
For metallic weapon injuries that fail to heal for a long time, it is appropriate to use the Duan Shi San (Calcined Calamine Powder) prescription, which expels wind-dampness, reconnects bones and tendons, stops pus and bleeding, and promotes tissue regeneration.
Duan Shi (Calamina, one sheng), juice of Di Song seedlings, Xi Xin end (Asari Radix et Rhizoma powder, two liang), juice of Xuan Fu Gen roots, juice of Ge leaves, juice of Qing Hao, juice of Maidong seedlings, juice of Mei seedlings [each of the above one liang], Zhu Zhi (Porcine Fat, one jin, refined).
Mix all the herb juices with Duan Shi and add the fat, blend into cake shapes, dry them in the sun, and grind into a fine powder. Apply to the wound. It is even better if prepared on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month.
For metallic weapon injuries that fail to heal for a long time, damaging bones and tendons, with unceasing pain, use the Qi Lin Xue San (Qilin Blood Powder) prescription.
Qi Lin Xue (three liang), Huang Dan (Lithargyrum, five liang, stir-fried until purple), Bai Lian (Radix Paeoniae Rubrae, five liang), Bai Ji (Rhizoma Bletillae, five liang), Ge Bu (Ramie Cloth, three chi, calcined to ash).
