Treats deficiency of wind in the Liver and Kidney, where pathogenic factors attack upward and downward, leading to spasms of tendons and vessels, pain in bone joints, edema of the head and face, weakness in arms, flaccidity and weakness of the waist and back, difficulty in flexion and extension, and arduous walking. All these conditions are suitable for treatment with this prescription.
Jingjie Sui (Schizonepetae Spica), Baifuzi (Typhonii Rhizoma Praeparatum), Niuxi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix, soaked in wine, dried by roasting), Rongshenrou (Cibotii Rhizoma, soaked in wine overnight, sliced, dried by roasting), each 1 liang; [Text implies missing ingredient name] each 2 qian 5 fen.
Grind all ingredients into fine powder. Use wine-boiled wheat paste to form pills the size of a Chinese quince seed. Take 5 to 7 pills per dose, washed down with warm wine; women may take it with vinegar water or Danggui wine.
Treats various wind syndromes causing flaccidity and paralysis of limbs, inability to move hands and feet freely, deviation of the mouth and eyes, slurred speech, twitching of eyebrows and eyes, dizziness and cerebral stuffiness, tendon spasms with limited movement, general numbness, pain in all joints, skin itching that leads to sores upon scratching. It also treats blood wind in women, causing whole-body pain and itching, head discomfort, as well as Changfeng (Wind in Intestines) and Zangdu (Visceral Toxin), characterized by continuous hematochezia; taking this medicine is particularly effective. Long-term use improves complexion, increases strength, makes the body light and agile, and prevents graying of hair and beard.
Chuanwu (Aconiti Radix Praeparata, processed, peeled, navel removed, 1 liang), Jingjie Sui (Schizonepetae Spica, 2 liang).
Grind into fine powder. Use vinegar and wheat paste to form pills the size of a Chinese quince seed. Take 20 pills per dose, washed down with wine or hot water. When ill, take on an empty stomach, 3 to 4 times daily; when healthy, take once in the morning. (There was an official named Guo Jiancheng who suffered from wind-induced spasms and convulsions in his youth. His chin was loose and could not retract, requiring him to support it with his hand to eat. After taking this medicine 6 to 7 doses, he recovered. He continued long-term use for over fifty years. In his seventies, he remained vigorous with no gray hair. This medicine is especially miraculous for treating Changfeng hematochezia, with many successful cases witnessed by me personally; within one year, several patients suffering from bleeding recovered after taking it.)
Treats Eight Winds and Five Bi syndromes, paralysis with dragging limbs, deviation of the mouth and eyes, traction at the eyebrow corners, stiffness and rigidity of the neck and back, lockjaw, mental confusion, appearance resembling drunkenness, generalized fever, vexatious pain in bone joints, muscle numbness, insensitivity of the waist and knees, eyelid twitching or sensation like insects crawling.
When Wind-Cold enters the brain, it causes vertigo and spinning sensations, similar to being on a boat, tinnitus sounding like cicadas or wind and rain. It can treat all conditions caused by Wind-Cold-Damp Bi obstruction. (This is the Da San Wu Qi San formula).
