治男女偏正头疼，夹脑风，太阳穴痛，坐卧不安。
川乌（生，去皮脐） 辰砂（研，各一两） 南星（生用，二两）
上为细末，用酒调涂痛处，小儿贴囟门。
治偏正头疼久不愈，善疗热损，目脑痛不止。
羌活 防风 黄连（以上各一两） 甘草（炙，一两半） 柴胡（七钱） 川芎（五钱）

上为细末，每服三钱，用茶清少许调如膏，抹口内，少用白汤送下，临卧服。头疼甚
加细辛二钱，痰厥头疼多加半夏，偏头疼不愈，减羌活防风川芎一半，加柴胡。
治一切头风。
光草乌（炮，裂） 细辛（去土，各五钱） 好茶（一两半）
上为细末，每服半钱，临卧浓茶点服。
星乌散，治诸般头风，二三十年不愈者，只二三服效。
天南星 川乌（生，去皮尖，各等分）
上为细末，每服二钱，入细茶一钱，薄荷七叶，盐梅一个，同煎一二沸，入生姜汁些
少，温服。
治诸头风，如斧劈，痛不可忍者。
川乌（一两）
上为末，烧烟熏碗内，热茶清泡碗内烟气服之，大效。

羌活一两，防风一两，黄连一两，炙甘草一两半，柴胡七钱，川芎五钱，黄芩。
以上药物研成细末，每次服用三钱，用少许清茶调成膏状，涂抹在口腔内，再用少量白开水送服，临睡前服用。如果头痛剧烈，加细辛二钱；如果是痰厥引起的头痛，多加半夏；如果是偏头痛久治不愈，将羌活、防风、川芎的用量减半，增加柴胡。
治疗各种头风病。
炮制过的光草乌（炮至裂开）五钱，去土的细辛五钱，好茶一两半。
以上药物研成细末，每次服用半钱，临睡前用浓茶冲服。
星乌散，治疗各种头风病，即使是二三十年不愈的患者，只需服用二三剂即可见效。
天南星，生川乌（去皮尖），两者等分。
以上药物研成细末，每次服用二钱，加入细茶一钱，薄荷七片叶子，一个盐梅，共同煎煮一二沸，加入少许生姜汁，温服。
治疗各种头风病，疼痛如斧劈般，痛得无法忍受。
川乌一两。
以上药物研成细末，燃烧产生烟雾熏碗内部，然后用热清茶冲泡碗内的烟气服用，效果显著。
治疗偏头痛。
川芎二两，香附四两（炒制，去毛）。
以上药物研成细末，每次服用二钱，饭后用清茶调服。
治疗偏头痛和正头痛，牵连眼睛疼痛。
石膏，炒鼠粘子（牛蒡子），两者等分。
以上药物研成细末，每次服用二钱，饭后用温酒或清茶调服。
Treats lateral and central headaches in both men and women, wind trapped in the brain (Jiaonao Feng), pain in the temporal region (Taiyang acupoint area), causing restlessness when sitting or lying down.
Raw Chuanwu Rhizoma Aconiti Lateralis Preparatus (Chuanwu) [peeled of skin and umbilicus], 1 liang; Cinnabar (ground), 1 liang; Raw Tianxing Rhizoma Arisaematis (Tianxing), 2 liang.
Grind the above into a fine powder. Mix with wine and apply to the painful area. For infants, paste onto the fontanelle (Xinmen).
Treats chronic lateral and central headaches that do not heal, effectively treating heat damage causing persistent eye and head pain.
Qianghuo Radix Notopterygii (Qianghuo), 1 liang; Fangfeng Radix Saposhnikoviae (Fangfeng), 1 liang; Huanglian Rhizoma Coptidis (Huanglian), 1 liang; Zhi Gancao Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata (Zhi Gancao), 1.5 liang; Chaihu Radix Bupleuri (Chaihu), 7 qian; Chuanxiong Rhizoma Chuanxiong (Chuanxiong), 5 qian; Huangqin Radix Scutellariae (Huangqin).
Grind the above into a fine powder. Take 3 qian per dose. Mix with a small amount of clear tea water to form a paste, smear inside the mouth, and swallow with a small amount of plain boiled water. Take before bed. If headache is severe, add Xixin Herba Asari (Xixin), 2 qian. For headache due to phlegm syncope (Tan Jue), add more Banxia Rhizoma Pinelliae Preparatum (Banxia). For chronic lateral headache, reduce Qianghuo, Fangfeng, and Chuanxiong by half, and increase Chaihu.
Treats all types of head wind (Touteng).
Pao Guangcaowu Rhizoma Aconiti Lateralis Preparatus (Guangcaowu) [pounded until cracked], 5 qian; Qu Tu Xixin Herba Asari (Xixin) [dirt removed], 5 qian; Good Tea, 1.5 liang.
Grind the above into a fine powder. Take 0.5 qian per dose. Take before bed with strong tea infusion.
Xingwu San treats various types of head wind; for cases lasting twenty or thirty years, efficacy is seen after only two or three doses.
Tianxing Rhizoma Arisaematis (Tianxing); Sheng Chuanwu Rhizoma Aconiti Lateralis Preparatus (Chuanwu) [raw, peeled of skin and tip], equal parts.
Grind the above into a fine powder. Take 2 qian per dose. Add Xi Cha (fine tea), 1 qian; Bohe Herba Menthae (Bohe), 7 leaves; Yanmei (salted plum), one piece. Decoct together for one or two boils. Add a little Shengjiang Juice (Shengjiangzhi). Take warm.
Treats various head winds, pain like an axe chop, unbearable.
Chuanwu Rhizoma Aconiti Lateralis Preparatus (Chuanwu), 1 liang.
Grind the above into a powder. Burn to produce smoke, fumigate the inside of a bowl. Brew the smoke in the bowl with hot clear tea water and drink. Highly effective.
Treats lateral headache.
Chuanxiong Rhizoma Chuanxiong (Chuanxiong), 2 liang; Xiangfu Rhizoma Cyperi (Xiangfu) [stir-fried, hair removed], 4 liang.
Grind the above into a fine powder. Take 2 qian per dose. Take after meals mixed with clear tea water.
Treats lateral and central headaches extending to eye pain.
Shigao Gypsum Fibrosum (Shigao); Niuzi Fructus Arctii (Niuzi) [stir-fried], equal parts.
Grind the above into a fine powder. Take 2 qian per dose. Take after meals mixed with warm wine or clear tea water.
